  • Watch After Hours, They do an even better sketch on this it's bloody brilliant.

  • with 2011 drawing to a close... you have 3 years scientists!!!

  • the thing is.. they probably named him... after himself ;-P

  • i have never thought about that until now,

  • Damn. I think I understand Einstein's theories relating to time travel more than all of this

  • I think we all had that problem with such an awesome film.

Also, if he causes his parents not to meet, he never would have been born, so he never would have been able to go back in time and stop himself from being born, so his parents would meet and get married, and he'd be born to go back and accidently stop his parents from meeting, so he wouldn't be born and he couldn't stop his parents meeting, so he'd have been born.

  • also back to the future 2. 1 marty jr (his SON) looks identical to marty but george (his DAD) doesnt. 2, old biff whos sad and pathetic gives young biff the almanac to be a millionaire, but then he wont be sad and pathetic and NEED to give himself it because hes already rich and therefore never gets it! and even if he does it will be a differant kind of biff to the first one who gives it making a paradox. and 3. in the new future the almanac doesnt exist as far as i know

  • As seen in the first film, you can change things, so George and Lorraine originaly named him so NOT because marty gave them the idea. This is the same with marty suggeting Goldie wilson to run for mayor

.Originally the ran for mayor because he went to night school and later had the idea to run for

    mayor himself.

When marty went back in time he just gave him the idea earlier

  • Great video! But for those that are calling the "Marty" issue a plot hole, I don't agree. In 30 years it is possible that you forget a 17 year old appearence! And according to the back to the future trilogy time travel rules(as I understand them myself), Marty was probably originally named Marty( or still was named for that) after his great-great-grandnephew Martin McFly.(BTTF3)

  • I love his voice!

  • It is like timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly

  • I had a similar problem with Back to the future 2, where he hides in the closet and watches himself get fired. Wouldn't his older self be like: "hold on.. I've seen this before, I was in that closet over there.. I must be in there now in my younger version.. wait a minute, why did I even make that mistake that got me fired.. ?"

  • @misterkami2 That's what I like to call the "Law of first occurrence." The future is in constant flux; it can be changed easily without the universe-destroying consequences that arise from changing the past. The reason 2015 Marty didn't know 1985 Marty was in the closet was because 1985 Marty being there was a "first occurrence," a change in the time stream that hadn't originally happened when the current future was "written." This is proved in-universe when Marty refuses to drag race.

  • @SnakeJAS3 You know what? You are right! Thanks!

  • @misterkami2 and Snakekami2 I'm sorry but I think that you are both wrong. 1985 Marty was NEVER hidden in the closet and NEVER saw his older self get fired. The one that was hidden in the closet was Jennifer.

  • @IsaacBTTF wohh.. really? Well, that does change everything... 0.o

  • whats with the comments bout school friends an them meetin marty 30 yrs ago?? i totally agree with ed!! "he caused them to fall in love and get married..you dont just forget somebody like that"..noone payin attention to that line then??

  • i suddenly realise how shit back to the future is...

  • I can't even remember what the people I went to school look like and I knew them a lot longer than a week.

  • I have a bigger problem with the fact that the McFlys hired their tormentor and attempted rapist as their manservant.

  • They never said that the parents didn't recognize Marty. However you other speculation has some merit. It could explain why Marty becomes the nexus of the time loops. If he went back the past, and had relations with his own mother, and became his own father. This would be the equivalence of a feedback loop. It could also explain why his brother and sister are such dorks, even though he's not.(Because George McFly is their father).

  • i thought back at the future is shit as a kid, and i still do.

  • Funny but I disagree. He spent a week with them 30 years ago. It's not like they had a picture of him. I find it hard to believe that out of no where they would recognize him. Especially because he is their son who they raised since birth.

  • I know what he means though. I always spend loads of time picking holes.

  • That was my problem with that movie too.

  • Not just the parents, but the electric guitar on stage infront of that big crowd, the Mayor, and of course BIFF!

  • "NO ITS SHIT. Now let em tell you why" XD

  • OMG. ive said that a million times. thank you ed

  • Lmaooo I remember thinking the same thing back in the day like WTF... But nonetheless epic fuckin movie!

  • I think we all thought of this late at night. XD It's a bit of fridge logic that his parents should realize he's the one who set them up. The fridge brilliance comes in that they would start to believe not that marty looks like "calvin cline" but that "calvin cline" looks like marty. It was 30 years ago, memories fade. He wasn't in any high school yearbook, there's no record of him, he's just a memory- a memory they FORGOT THE FACE OF. :O

  • @shogungari actually they didnt think he looked like calvin Klein. he wore calvin Klein underwear and they thought he wrote his name in them

  • Finally! I've found a comment page where the argument is an educated debate between mature people! Thankyou so much. I'd almost lost hope on finding any one with a tiny bit of common sense on this website who actually listens to other peoples advice and respects there opinions! Yay!

  • why is it called back 2 the future the future is in front

  • @SPACEHOPPER11 Because at the end of the film, he goes back to his own time, therefore back to the future. Its a reference to the end of the film, which I admit is fairly odd.

  • Haha I used to think EXACTLY the same thing: "Why won't Marty's parents recognise him?!" I also used to wonder why they didn't name his older brother Marty, if they'd liked the name so much surely they'd name their first child after him, and Marty would end up being called something like Steve...

It's still my favourite movie though, can't let silly plot holes ruin that :) And Ed Byrne rocks!

  • @CharloSAUR Demetri is American, I think. OMG YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO GO SEE DYLAN MORAN! DO IT! NOW! *jealous*

  • @CharloSAUR Thanks! I'll check him out! You should watch Demetri Martin... his stuff is not only hilarious, but very impressive and interesting! I also ADOREEE Bill Bailey <3

  • @CharloSAUR OMG Eddie Izzard is my favorite PERSON EVER XD And I love Dara and Ed Byrne! You should check out Dylan Moran, you seem to have a good sense of humor, AND similar to me!

  • @CharloSAUR FOr sure! When I watched Pedantic and Whimsical, I was literally crying with laughter, and had to pause the video so I could calm down XD

  • I dont get how this is funny, its just anm obvious movie flaw that me and im sure everyone else has noticed, if i got on stage and pointed out that movie flaw people would just say "er...yeah, we know mr obvious", butEd Byrne says it and its tripple A comedy, makes no sense

  • @SamHain1031666 Because of the outrage that he presents it with! It's not funny if you have to explain the joke, but you seemed to have totally missed the point. It's the tone that he talks about it with!

  • @SpiirytStarrchild I didnt find his tone funny

  • @SamHain1031666 Ahh well then the problem is with your sense of humor, it's a fundamental flaw, sorry, can't help you there.

  • @SpiirytStarrchild I actually have a great sense of humor, i watch George Carlin, Billiy Connoly, Dennis Leary, Bill Hicks, i mean i watch the best stand up and Ed Byrne performs on these crappy Comedy Central shows that just arnt funny, i swaer to god i always give Comedy Central a chance but no stand up ever makes me laugh, their just cringingly bad and people just laugh coz they think they have to coz their at teh comedy club lol. I get Ed Byrnes humor, im just beyond it

  • @SamHain1031666 Hey, the comedians you mentioned are briliant, but not everyone is Carlin! Ed Byrne isn't as good as him, sure, but he's still solid. Not being amazing doesn't make someone shit. You should watch Ed Byrne's DVD Pedantic and Whimsical. It's his best stuff, and you might like it compared with his Comedy Central stuff.

  • @SpiirytStarrchild Good point, maybe i havent seen him at his best, i'll check that out, cheers

  • SO true!!!!

  • different time of cenception, different egg and sperm, still no marty

  • Plus the fact that if his parents fucked at a different time in a changed past, marty would still never have been born because a different egg and sperm would have fused. (yeah yeah, i know its just a movie)

  • lol i just hope they tackle this in the new game serries.

  • hahahahah man this guy is hilarious!! i just caught a glimpse of him on graham norton...and now i'm watching all his vids =D

  • i have ALWAYS thought of this lol

  • It's funny because I have this reaction EVERY time I watch back to the future lol

  • @CharloSAUR hahaha I think with Ed Byrne, either you love him, or you hate him completely. He knows this XD Personally, I love him.

  • OMG MY FAVORITE MOVIE.

  • why is the guy not a sir ,knight this fella thumbs up

  • I always think exacly the same thing :D

  • 2 people obviously love their mom a bit more than they should (dislike button got hit twice @ time of writing)

  • Great comedian, just watched him on a repeat of The Graham Norton Show on BBC America with Robert Downey Jr.

  • @titan511 Oh wow! I didn't know he did that! I'll check it out, thanks!

  • lame, Marty was the youngest of all the McFlys so his parents were well beyond high school when they had him, and they only knew him for a week. I can't remember half of my own relatives, let alone some queer I hung out with for a week in high school. Also the resemblance, he wouldn't just walk down the Stairs one day and be "Calvin Kline". He would slowly grow into how hes going to look as an adult so his parents wouldn't even notice.

  • @shinoevil1 Wow your comment is lame... learn to laugh, man...

  • @shinoevil1 Wise up!

  • whats the name of this stand up show??

  • @fielong17 It's called Different Class

  • that flaw is nentioned alot... be is he not the youngest of 3 and is a good 5 or 6 years younger then the oldest.. if i'm wrong let me know

  • I'm laughing so much, this is the first thought I had whilst watching this film!

  • do you havbe the part where he talks about emo's and then sings mcr?

  • @MCRsuperVAMP I just uploaded it, hope it's the right part. (I'm not sure who MCR is) You'll find it at my channel.

  • anything to do with time travel drives me insane, I agree with everything this guy says about everything

  • I've always found that weird too, I'm glad someone addressed this

  • what's funny is that i thought of this exact same flaw before i saw this

  • I have another point... Now I haven't seen the film so feel free to correct me without being a dick about it, but it sounds like he met them together... How can that affect further into the past than he's gone? Perhaps I should watch it because I may be just confused.

  • @MissOwlee It doesn't affect further into the past. He meets them when his parents are NOT a couple. He meets his mom, who fancies him, so that means that he might never get born. So, he helps his dad to meet his mom and fall in love, thus ensuring that he gets born. XD you should watch it, it's actually a great movie!

  • @SpiirytStarrchild Ah I see, thank you. Does that mean she'd fancy him in the future too? That would be creepy :S

  • @MissOwlee Hahahha XD No. She didn't know that was her son, just some cute guy (who looks remarkably like the man she ends up marrying! =p )

  • @SpiirytStarrchild i dont think you get it at all. you are a retard

  • @crayfish464 I... don't get what? The story of the film?

  • I love ed. But this is not so good.

  • @Mr22071973 haters to the left. Ed rules.

  • i absolutely love this guy haha and he's got a good point

  • "Are you sure you didn't fuck that fella when you were in high school?"

    LMAO!

  • Just the way he says 'fucking' :L

  • I always felt that aswell with the film.

  • The way he says "fucking" at 1:27 is just the best...!

  • @laganas2008 HAHAHHA Yeah, I've always loved that XD

  • @laganas2008 sounds like a proper yorkshireman ^_^

  • @Scouty13 It's 1:27 on my computer, at 1:24 on my computer he says "fifteen".

  • bro just take it this guy totally told it right plus its a joke dont take it to heart lol!!!!

    hes really funny hahahahah

  • ha ha hab ha. wow. this is very funny, because i ask the same questions xD

  • awesomewelles90... STFU

  • hahah!

  • Funny but not a very good flaw. Firstly supposing that you would be able to remember exactly what someone who you only knew for a few days looked like 30 years later is improbable. Secondly their son's appearance would change gradually and this would trick them into never realising that he looked like someone else.

  • @awesomewelles90 Well I'm sure technical accuracy wasn't the point of this routine.

  • @Sukriti I disagree, technical accuracy was the whole PREMISE of the routine!

  • Comment removed

  • @awesomewelles90

u are a faggot for tryin to disprove a comedy routine. just shut up and laugh for god's sake.

  • @awesomewelles90 Stop spouting obscenities and take a moment to see that you yourself said, "Funny but not a very good flaw." You're not doing a very good job proving a point by contradicting yourself. Maybe you'd care to piss off and work on your skills of argument.

  • @awesomewelles90 LOL I like how you feel insecure unless you assert the size of your "schlong". Kindly fuck off and get on with your life if you have one.

  • @awesomewelles90 LOL Well, originally no, because I'm a girl, but I think I might have become after reading your comment.

  • @awesomewelles90 dayum Sukriti Burnt ur ass...pwnt.

  • And wouldn't they have been confused with a brand being named after him?

  • hahaha... its funny cause its true.

  • That is a tiny flaw in that trilogy. In part 3 there woulda been 2 deloreans one to travel back with the other to use the fuel and fuel line from and leave for 1955 marty so as not to create a paradox. In part 2, There wouldve been no marty, jennifer, doc or martys kids. They wouldve been missing persons for 30 years. That oughta blow some minds. Im a geek, I know!

  • This is so true.

  • how many times have I thought that, I love ed

  • Just because of this clip I decided to rewatch this film again XD The bit about his mum fancying him was much more awkward now XD

  • hahaha gotta love ed!

  • when did he get a lisp? I remember him in pedantic and whimsical and he was pronouncing the "s" sounds without sounding like he has a lisp?

  • What? I didn't notice a lisp...

what point in the video are you talking about?

  • It's less noticeable in this video, but I have a copy of the whole DVD and it happens all the time. I'm not sure whether it's because of the apparently poor sound quality of my copy or whether Ed is speaking differently.

  • I have the full DVD show as well, but I didn't notice that. Maybe because I was blown away by Ed's brilliance, though XD

  • lol :)

  • Ed Byrne is probably the most under rated comedian ever.

  • For sure! I wish he would do more DVDs; Pedantic and Whimsical nearly killed me XD and Different Class was excellent...

  • @JohnyH Couldn't agree with you more mate.

  • lmao yeah i never thought of that haha

  • love ed byrne! wats this recording from?

  • His new stand-up special "Different Class."

  • Yep, its from Different Class

Watch the whole show, its brilliant!

  • cool, i saw him just the other night and he was wearing exactly that. must be the same tour XD

  • ahhh so lucky!

  • Good man really good live

  • I can only imagine!!

BTW YES I love Queen too

  • I thought they'd recognize him, hahaha

  • i saw this 2 nights ago in Perth! my first stand-up gig. he was amazing, all good material, great encore, was just brilliant! crowd were great too

  • WOAH Losing your stand-up virginity to Ed? WANT.

aww I love this man XD

  • I was there that night! You can actually see me in the shot of the audience at the end there. The show was awesome. He was awsome and looked VERY dapper in the second half :)

  • Woah cool! ARGHH you's insanely lucky, I'm so jealous! I love him

    XD

    And yes, he's a handsome man =]

  • The way he walks around is really awkward.

  • Haha I like it, he's quirky and energetic XD

  • I agree he's quirky and energetic, but the way he paces the stage makes him look like he just doesn't know what to do with himself.

  • that is actually a brilliant point :D

  • This man is brilliant XD

  • AH man :D saw him do this last night at the apollo! EPIC <3

  • You're soooooo lucky! I love him!
