I would just love to be in the studio with these guys... Not speaking, not talking, just listening, learning, observing, respecting, and feeling the souls of these dudes! Can you see the facial expressions when the samples touch the soul bone? That's what the original artists intended on you feeling, we in hip hop just borrow that soul and add heavier drums so our listeners can feel it how WE feel it! Hip Hop is still alive... I love hip hop! I love how producers in the past (and some current ones) dig in the crates. Sampling is an art in itself. No fruity loops (not hating on FL cause I use it too) but I have an sp1200 and it only has 10 seconds of sample time. It made me a better beat maker. I just think that sampling adds an element. Back in the days producers used to chop the sample ups so good that the sport was to try to figure out where it came from... Had to be on your music game! I still am!
