Em and Royce beefed because Royce use to be Em's hype man and after he started getting some recognition he didnt go on a tour with Em because he was working on his solo career. You don't consider mainstream rappers true lyricist because 1. It didn't come from them. and 2. There isn't any subject matter. The same elements that make good poetry make good raps. Literary techniques like wordplay, personification, metaphors, storytelling, vocabulary & alliteration, makes one lyrical.
