This man is the dogs bollocks and I really miss listening to him. His Virign days, particularly from 94-95 were where to find the best radio broadcasting anywhere in the UK, by far. His show really pushed the boundaries and it became avid listening. We got to know regulars such as The Mad Baker Boy, Mrs.Hull, ( a man's penis...what is it?), Zurie, Rab et al - such great days (sigh). Thankfully, I have a stack of cassettes of the show so I can continue the experience @ night before I conk out!
Y'know? ... Otherwise he'd do what Carol and Iain did. He's a lazy guy, he said it himself, so I'm not surprised he's doing the comfortable thing. Especially since he doesn't want to be a star either.
Was nick allowed to say 'arsehole'?

@RegentsAlbany Yes, that show as on from 10pm to 2 am. He got away with quite a bit for early 90s radio.

I love Nick, he is unique in British radio, and I so miss the Virgin days.

His style and voice hasn't changed much since 1993.

Wow! That's quite some rant. He sounds genuinely pissed off at points.

@rantum The guy who rang up was probably stiring it anyway.

The ironic thing is that Nick now works a really restrictive slot on lbc. Almost doing the exact type of show he said to be bored by.

It's sad but he's always had a hard time just staying alive and I think he's now grown too tired to keep up the fight.
I forgive him as he still seems to have more flavour (of the genuine kind) than his surrounding peers.
