the pouches come with straps on the back that weave into the webbing on the vest, some pouches have snaps on the bottom, some tuck into a slit on the pouch. they are all ready to go without any other equipment needed
Thanks for the review. I might buy this from CTD. There's a quik-release one that is a little more expensive I saw in another review that has a better option to replace the cumberbund elastic on it with a bungee or something because the reviews said the elastic is pretty crappy. What do you think of it?
Condor makes a tri-compartment mag pouch that can hold 6 M-16 or AK mags..just wondering if this vest has enough room on it to hold TWO of those pouches on it?
@Gloomshadow1 Go to the site, look at the webbing in the picture, and compare it to your pouches. I will guess that your pouches are 3 rows high by 6 rows wide. Most vests will fit two such pouches on the bottom of the front panel. Once again, look at the pictures.
@AaronAR15 this is supposedly ACU but its a bit lighter and has almost a bluish tint to it. In the field it blended with nothing. I lightly sprayed it with green and brown to break it up.
It CAN come in multicam, or several other colors. MARPAT isnt one of them or I would have picked that.
aaronar15 If you didn't know All ACU's come like that, you have to break it in to get the colors to dull out a bit. Even with new Issued Acu's they are washed and mudded up during training, to get the dark fade. you never want to spray paint it or whatever you did.. :P the chemicals in the paint can break down the fabric and make it weaker. Acu's have a really cool tread design that is made to get get clean quick.
@RomilousCK even with "wearing in" it will never blend in with the environment. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It may make the fabric weaker. If it breaks ill feel like a fool but until it does Im pretty happy with the outcome
@fireworksguy666 The shotshell holder? That actually came off my last vest, it was a crossdraw vest with padded shoulders. I would think you could buy them offline though. Let me do some digging.
@bsebllr25 Some yes, but nothing substantial. Unless of course you face it butt plate up, then the locking tab on the magazine creates more resistance.
@NatGen9571 Yes they are the same company just different name. I have no idea why they did that, but yes all the gear still says Condor, just a different name.
@badas45 anywhere you can place a hard plate, you can put soft armor. as long as its the same size, and it isnt too flexible that it bunches up, with soft armor you need a nice tight fit, but not too tight.
I actually have no clue. I simply googled molle vests and it took me to cheaper than dirt. I then googled info on it to see if it was sturdy then called the company to verify that it would hold real mags/ammo.
I would research OE, see if the reviews are good. If it sounds like a good product go with it. Maybe make a video ;)
Dude, I just bought two condor 9mm molle pouches. I was pissed because the one of the straps was really short. Until I saw this video, I had no idea that the cover straps were adjustable! Thanks for the help!
Check out the Condor Cross Draw vest. I'm thinking of picking it up.
@fdd19 Chest mounted pistols were originally popular for mounted missions and patrols to allow easy access when sitting in a vehicle, if your not in a vehicle where it is the obvious choice, a drop leg is just a good. (just my opinion)
i have a lightweight vest (the back isnt a full vest only has webbing at the bottom i went to a army surplus store and just spent 100 dollars on pouches and a fake grenade for a grenade pouch i just purchased its amazing i would recommend to anyone the molle system
I have a bulgarian ak74, and have started to move away from the old alice setup, and was lost when it came to molle. thanks for the review it really helped.
My biggest problem was trying to find what would work with the ak mags since everything seems to be geared for the AR.
Just about everything IS setup for ARs. I'm sure in the old soviet area you could find everything geared for AKs. But they will work for either, if imperfectly. Been using this for quite a while and I am very happy.
They do make MALICE gear that uses the best of both worlds. Before you try MOLLE look into that. I will say that I have a friend who uses the old webbing and Alice but he's pretty jealous of the adaptability of my setup.
will this fit me im 4'7''

@YllwFvrPB it could be the marine acu because army and marine camo are slightly differen

@samwisescalf MARPAT is very similar in color to the old woodland camo, just a new pattern. I have BDUs in MARPAT and prefer it to ACU

try mounting the pistol on the chest area either center or off-center whatever is more comfortable to you, works great
fdd19 2 years ago
I have a drop leg for the glock, I dont like having the pistol on my rig, takes up alot of space and I find it awkward no matter where I place it.
I like having it at hand level on my thigh, much more convenient. And its available even when prone.
