hey dude that was great sounds so good, well played,i was askin myself...it was expensive to replace ur PU(i dont mean how many cost the duncans but the job to replace the stock pu) cause i want to buy one of this and i would change PU no doubt 5*
Wow, very lovely tone and sustain!!!! I actually plan to purchase that guitar. I wonder if the stock pickups are okay before you replace them? And does the Transparent Red look better than Bright Blue? I will appreciate your reply. I really like your style of playing by the way. Awesome job!!!
actually the stock PU is OK but i always love the passive PU tone. you could do some alternative wiring with passive, such as split, series or parallel, thats why i replaced them with passive to make this guitar more versatile. The colour is only for the look, the important is the tone of maple/mahagony body..awesome combination.Bright blue is also great colour. The neck profile is nice and smooth.I suggest you go for this guitar. You'll love it.Good luck!
I like RGA cause its fixed bridge, flame maple top on mahagony body, great neck profile..thats all,
I used passives, just because I've never felt the need to go active. you also have more options to choose from with passives, such as wiring options etc.
Hm but u had to change all the electronics right? The reason im stepping on your nerves is that i want to buy this guitar, but i also own a seymour duncan pickup which i wante to use in this guitar ;)
you dont have to change all the elctronics just disconnect the wiring from EQ on off RGA from the jack of guitar and connect it from the jack to 3 way blade switch or volume pot. (check at Seymour web for wiring diagram) and also u could replace EQ on off switch with mini toggle to split/series/parallel your Seymour PU..so fell free to experiment man..it wasn.t difficult to modified this guitar..goodluck
Ibanez SZR..i ve got the older version SZ520qm...well, this guitar is killer, more sustain and fat tone. The different is SZR 22 fret, setneck and different neck profile than RGA. the price little bit higher than RGA.
i was using little 59 PU. actually this PU is for strat (single stack Humbucker), I put inside humbucker cavity..just for temporary and curious about the sound.
can you send me this mp3 i would love to play to this eabel71@yahoo.com

hey dude, im planning to buy this guitar. would you recommend changing the stock pickups strongly or just for preference?
i play classic rock and progressive rock, mostly. cheers.
tobfang007 2 years ago
Well..the RGA stock PU is fine for playing prog rock..

Hm yeah I took a look at this Guitar, but I dont like the shape. I'll try out the RGA32 MOL (Oiled Finish).
Bmob 2 years ago
well.. there's no EQ on-off switch on rga32..so its more easy for you to change the PU..
indrakuda 2 years ago
How did u realize the change from active to passive?

but if like more sustain and fat tone..go for SZR.-))
indrakuda 2 years ago
Hey, cool then, the reason i didnt buy the RGA was that i wasnt sure if i could replace the pickups with passives. Now i can order it savely ;)
But what do u mean with SZR?

hey, just wondering how was the active pick ups on the guitar, and is the 24th fret hard to get too ?
DxsupermanxD 2 years ago
the stock active PU on this guitar is quite good, but it was too much treble..i dont like it
its 24 fret wizard II neck..so you could run your finger smoothly all over the fretboard

66Titan66 2 years ago

but i didn't like the LoZ3 pickup sound..
