  • which guitar do you like better, the Ibanez SZ520QM or the Ibanez RGA42FM?

  • @TAKE27band

    SZ520qm...for awesome tone,great looking guitar,killer sustain

  • well done!! sound quality was great!!!!

  • @TAKE27band

    Thanks a lot man..!!!-))

  • that was great, you have a really nice style :) where did u get the backing track?

  • good feeling

  • thank you...-))

  • hey dude, im planning to buy this guitar. would you recommend changing the stock pickups strongly or just for preference?

i play classic rock and progressive rock, mostly. cheers.

  • Well..the RGA stock PU is fine for playing prog rock..

but for classic rock,i guess you should replace the PU

  • thanks dude. great playing btw. :)

  • thanks a lot man..-))

  • hey dude that was great sounds so good, well played,i was askin myself...it was expensive to replace ur PU(i dont mean how many cost the duncans but the job to replace the stock pu) cause i want to buy one of this and i would change PU no doubt 5*

  • thanks a lot man...

well..i replaced the stock pickup by myself...

it was not really difficult man..just follow the

    wiring diagram on duncans website..

there is also tutorial for changing the pickup here, you can find on youtube...

  • Excellent playing! Reminds me of Carlos Santana.

How long have you been playing and what can I do to get as good as you?

  • Thanks alot man..appreciate the kind words

i ve been playing for 20years actually i only playing

    just for fun..thats it

All you have to do is playing a lot man..

find backingtrack that you like..jam along with it

    and enjoy..thx

  • not really the kind of guitar id use for this kinda music, i mean it being an ibanez with the grunt and all.

but great work on the playing :)

  • thx a lot man...

yup...just to share the versatility of this guitar

  • nice looking guitar and you play well!

I would replace the pickups too.

  • thanks man...

  • Wow, very lovely tone and sustain!!!! I actually plan to purchase that guitar. I wonder if the stock pickups are okay before you replace them? And does the Transparent Red look better than Bright Blue? I will appreciate your reply. I really like your style of playing by the way. Awesome job!!!

  • thanks a lot man.

actually the stock PU is OK but i always love the passive PU tone. you could do some alternative wiring with passive, such as split, series or parallel, thats why i replaced them with passive to make this guitar more versatile. The colour is only for the look, the important is the tone of maple/mahagony body..awesome combination.Bright blue is also great colour. The neck profile is nice and smooth.I suggest you go for this guitar. You'll love it.Good luck!

  • I love it man

  • thx a lot man...

  • Hm yeah I took a look at this Guitar, but I dont like the shape. I'll try out the RGA32 MOL (Oiled Finish).

  • well.. there's no EQ on-off switch on rga32..so its more easy for you to change the PU..

  • How did u realize the change from active to passive?

  • I like RGA cause its fixed bridge, flame maple top on mahagony body, great neck profile..thats all,

I used passives, just because I've never felt the need to go active. you also have more options to choose from with passives, such as wiring options etc.

  • Hm did you buy it with passives or did you put them in later?

  • put them in later

  • Hm but u had to change all the electronics right? The reason im stepping on your nerves is that i want to buy this guitar, but i also own a seymour duncan pickup which i wante to use in this guitar ;)

  • hehe..i see your point man

you dont have to change all the elctronics just disconnect the wiring from EQ on off RGA from the jack of guitar and connect it from the jack to 3 way blade switch or volume pot. (check at Seymour web for wiring diagram) and also u could replace EQ on off switch with mini toggle to split/series/parallel your Seymour PU..so fell free to experiment man..it wasn.t difficult to modified this guitar..goodluck

  • but if like more sustain and fat tone..go for SZR.-))

  • Hey, cool then, the reason i didnt buy the RGA was that i wasnt sure if i could replace the pickups with passives. Now i can order it savely ;)

But what do u mean with SZR?

  • Ibanez SZR..i ve got the older version SZ520qm...well, this guitar is killer, more sustain and fat tone. The different is SZR 22 fret, setneck and different neck profile than RGA. the price little bit higher than RGA.

  • Which pickup were you using in this video? The SH-4 or the Little '59?

I could not see where the switch was at in the video....

    ???

    Dm

  • i was using little 59 PU. actually this PU is for strat (single stack Humbucker), I put inside humbucker cavity..just for temporary and curious about the sound.

the switch position is below my right hand

  • nice playing.

how did you get that color of rga?

can't find it anywhere.. looks like a orange sunburst..looks good

  • Thanks a lot man..

i bought it online, its transparent red burst..

    checkout zzounds

  • Dude i love your playng ! every note!! you have a very nice feel and concentration.

    keep playng your guitar !!

  • Thanks! I appreciate the kind words man!

    keep rock on!!

  • hey, just wondering how was the active pick ups on the guitar, and is the 24th fret hard to get too ?

  • the stock active PU on this guitar is quite good, but it was too much treble..i dont like it

its 24 fret wizard II neck..so you could run your finger smoothly all over the fretboard

  • Ndra, mana Miyabinya hehehe ? Wah lo musti ajarin gw tuh cara ganti pikup..

  • wakaka..miyabi beda forum man..bukan dimari...hehe

standar ganti pikup man..dulu kan ente jg yg ngajarin pas yamaha ganti jd dimarzio..long time ago tuh..hehhe

  • Yamaha ijo hahaha.. itu kan yg ganti orang toko deh klo gak salah..

  • Nice playing man, does this have the active EQ control on it?

  • thx a lot man..

    actually yes..

but i didn't like the LoZ3 pickup sound..

so i changed the active PU with passive PU and then disabled the active EQ control
