If they are going to use any inspiration in episode 2 of sonic 4, I really hope they use marble zone. It's actually quite a hard stage for being the second stage. Still, It was quite unique and I have never seen any level similiar to that one ever again. Green hill, emerald hill, mushroom hill... splash hill. I would say that kind of level has really been overused. And that oil level in Sonic 2. Never seen any other level like that either...
