  • thats a badass blade

  • nice work for someone that's been making knives for 1 year, good work, very good work.

love the kukri style and saw. good survival tool.

  • Truly form follows functions, I guess it very effective for chopping and sawing in the out door. Where can I purchase? Thanks

  • Awesome!!!! Bro

  • Hum that saw part not so good. be better off just chopping with it.

  • Ok so w hen you plan on selling them

  • Get a piece of wood... not a 2x4...

  • its a kukri.

  • @websuspect

    He did mention that. :)

  • Great knife. I wish I could buy one.

  • My masonry trowel can split treated 2x4's...

  • i want one

  • I.. am mature enough to not insult your little horns. However, your professional workmanship, knowledge, and innovations are almost insulted by them... It's like a board meeting with Bill Gates in 1990 and him wearing a clown nose. Yes he has something worth buying, but you can't get past that damn clown nose. Your.. maybe 30? Just saying man, in the professional world perhaps it's time to no longer identify yourself by what you wear and instead by who you are. No disrespect intended.

  • Do you sell your blades? I love your saw back kukri's and have been wanting one since stumbling over your utube videos. Great work mate!

  • Stupid me, I had not considered the width of the kerf before opening my mouth. I still do not see the need for a saw blade that appears to be about three inches long. That blade would probably cut through three inches of wood by chopping faster than sawing.

  • Why stagger the saw teeth? You don't need a wide cut as much as you just need a cut. It is way easy to chop with the grain on a common 2x4 board. You get bragging rights if you can chop across the four inch width with that same stroke. I would have used a relatively indestructible material for the handles such as micarta or carbon fiber.

  • whats the point of the saw if you can do that with the normal blade

  • dont like the saw for bushcraft or the shiny blade. Of course i would have to test it.

If i can get it for a good price.

  • i agree with everyone else.... lose the saw back & produce this knife...... i'll gladly buy!!!!

  • I was hoping this was going to the Pathfinder babe.

  • dam man you got style wicked knife do you make customs for other people besides family and friends ? if so sign me up for that beast of a knife

  • other than the "saw" i like the looks of that. imo "saws' on a knives are worthless, but that is just imo.

  • Is it stamped? or forged?

  • Brilliant! What an awesome acheivment for only 1 year as a knife maker. The knife (although not to my personal taste) seems really well designed and constructed. I don't like saws on knives generally so its no suprise that I didn't like that feature. But hey thats just me being a critical asswipe, I'm blown away by your skill dude hope you make more videos on knife making.

  • you are an artist!

  • The old saying of "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" is almost null and void if that's the knife you bring.

Sure would like to see more videos of your knife making adventures, if/when you have time!

  • ESEE makes better knives. His may be functional, but ridiculously flashy IMO. And the saw should travel down more of the length of the blade to make it effective.

  • @suba9785 it's not about being flashy. It's about the effectiveness of the knife and I think he proved that in the demonstration. being a blacksmith I know how difficult it is to forge weapons so don't criticize until you can make better.

  • impressive skills Sir. I also make knives and also make movies - please watch my movies if You have some free time :)

  • Can u do a tutorial on how to make the saw back please?

  • did you actually send this to him?

  • pretty kool knife do ur self a favour the real kukri from the day one is always made with 5160 steel which is tougher than your 1095 switch to 5160 and get ready to take my order for one.

  • 1:52 That's what she said.

  • @XKillerBoy you know, the "she" in thats what she said, is prolly really annoying. seriously, get her in bed and randomly "Insert rod A into slot B" among all the others, can you just imagine?

  • thats not the pathfinder knife

  • Sorry guy, but I think this is one ugly knife. That saw back would rip a sheath to shreds. But, you got to admit, it has a certain 'charm'......

  • Hey Devildwarfbladesmith, have a sujestion. The hole in the back end of the knife can be used to make arrows if it is the size needed for his spine strength. Used for straighting arrows. Native americans used rocks with a hole in it. Just a thought.

    Nightknifer

  • @NightKnifer I'm amazed that no-one else has thought of this. Bloody brilliant! Good on ya!

  • nice knive where can i order one?

  • Is that ring ever comin off your finger?

  • cool knife, gay hat

  • A Beautiful Blade! I want one!

  • Make one with a black blade and polymer plastic handle. I'd definitely steal...I mean...buy it.

  • i personally dont like the shiny blade !!!

  • i like his hat!!

  • Did Dave do a review of the knife yet?

  • do you commissions? how much for a blade like that?

  • kukri?

  • Your on to something there with the saw! Nothing on the market like it!

  • @wilcox1219 well, there's a few out there already, gerber has a machete with a sawback and tops has the steel eagle line

  • Yeah I Was Watching Green Petes Videos A Min Ago He Is Amazing, Your Knifes Way Better Though.

  • awww look at his little fingers =] btw good job great knife 10/10

  • i worked with a bunch of gurkas who used the kurkri seen an ox loose his head in one slice. great knifes. heavy, sturdy, and dependable, good addition with the saw blade

  • Can I Buy One?

  • wow...thats a good knife to cut troats

  • Personally I'd prefer a different type of wood...Iron wood maybe, anyway...That is a beautiful blade... What did you do for a sheath if anything? It'd be a bit awkard to sharpen as well with that organic movement...Nothing huge but still... Lovely knife.

  • osage orange is a really cool type of wood

  • Your presentation was great, I believe you are a true artist and you will only get better. I love dual survival, you seem very ginuine and sincere. hope you get rich making your kickass knives.

  • Cool

  • 7 people are racist to dwarves.

  • @S1L3NTP1G 8

  • nice knife dude

  • how much would you charge to make one of these?

  • emma chisit?

  • beautiful

  • awsome knife man! how did you shape the blade? did you use a forge and hammer or did you cut it out of a solid piece of 1095 with a grinder or what not? and what did you use to get the edge so smooth and flow into the top of that finger slot like that all nice and even and purdy? thanks man.

  • Thats a knife!

I would want to buy one like that :)

  • love it

  • now THATS a knife!!! lol

  • that saw on knife is too short....its useles..

    .

  • How come this knife never made Dave final cut? This was at one point a knife Dave used.

  • the knife Dave is currently using (as seen on Dual Survivor) is made by blind horse knives.and is called the pathfinder knife.

  • @duhbghlas really? really? is it? not liek everyopne knew or anything

  • I was originally going to question the saw on the knife, but when I heard that it was only your ninth knife I was really surprised and extremely impressed. You're definitely talented. Keep making them and posting vids. I think lots of us would love to follow your progress. Thanks.

  • WTF... Thats not daves knife is it? Can you use that pathfinder name without permission? Did you make that knife- it looks like something I saw in a jap crap catalog!

  • Does that saw cut on the push or the pull? Just so you know it would be more efficient if it cut on the pull like a Japanese pull saw, because you would have better control, it would be more stable to cut with, make cleaner cuts and would be easier to saw with because you would be using different muscles than used for pushing, and you would have less fatigue. With all those favorable conditions combined it cuts faster.

  • How did you put the saw edge on the back?

  • isnt dave now using a different knife?

  • Love the design, shape and finish on your "pathfinder" i reckon it'll be of great use in the outdoors, i just can't seem to find a video of dave and this knife..

I make knives myself, making a very thin kitchen knife of layered and twisted 1095 and L6 type of steel :) if you wanna check out some photo's: frankhooijer(dot)picturepush(dot)com

  • Can't beat osage for durability.

  • That's an awesome knife sir!

  • looks like a military assasin knife

  • How much for this knife PM me a price if it's cool with you I can wait for you to take your time

  • i like the "Ya" after hes done sawing it

  • Can I get a estimate for a knife designi have

  • dude he sounds so much like seth rogen

  • hell yeah man that knife is pretty sick, hope dave liked it.

  • Is this knife still available for purchase.

  • I'm in love.

  • was this stock removal or did you forge it? Either way its a fine blade.

  • i want one...

  • That is a really good looking knife. i really like how you made the saw on the back. also great positioning. congrats

  • hi dude im after a full tang knife that i an use to cut hazel branches with with a med size dlade could u make me 1?

  • very nice,great knife!

  • (4:40) I think I just found me a back scratcher!! XD

Cool Knife, I made one before, but it's not nearly as refined, Gr8 job!! :)

  • ok, now what on earth would i have to give you in order to obtain one of these knives??

  • How do u get ahold of one of these knives?

  • that's beatiful!

    do you sell those?

  • is dave replacing his tbt??

  • You need to shoot the video with the sun shining on your face and knife, not on your back. Great information anyway. Thanks.

  • saw is not really up to scratch-great effoort and you do great work but as a saw I belyeve that the folding saw is far superior. Not my intention to disrespect. cheers

  • great knife

  • The saw on the back of "knife" was there for making traps this one is alittle fat for that but maybe could be of use.

  • How hard is it on the rockwell scale?

  • That knife looks fantastic...are you still taking orders?

  • nice knife, but why the saw if it chops through anyway?

  • I'd have to say that's one of the sturdiest looking knives I've seen in a long time, got a friend that would probably give his grandma away for that one XD

So, you think it would be possible to get you to make another one of those?

But rather Bowie style then kukuri for me though..

    Any price range or possibilities?

  • Do everyone a favour and mass produce it..

  • Your a Genius knife maker. I'll make an order.

  • What would a knife like that cost? Do you make Sheathes for them as well?

  • Thats a real beauty

  • First time i've seen you and your work, Glad i watched. You should be very proud of yourself. 'Beast' of a knife. I'd be happy to slap that on a belt and tramp any mountain. Good effort, Great Vid. Keep it up.

  • im sorry i dont reealy like it but varry cool knife just not something i would use for a woods knife

  • cool knfe, never been a fan of sawbacks apart from Rambo knives, and now this one!

  • That is a beautiful knife and a very practical design. How hard would it be to add a guthook on back of the tip? Could it be done without catching fingers when drawing with the knife?

  • Great design, very Impressive blade! Have to agree with NSResponder about the problems related to putting a saw on the spine of such a thick piece of steel, but besides that, this is great!

  • Great knife design. So did Dave get this knife and did he ever produce a video about it?

  • thats a work of art!

  • that was nice knife

  • FANTASTIC job on the knife, bud. :)

  • That is one SICK knife! I'd be proud to own a knife like this!

    EXCELLENT JOB!

  • I'd say this is a good example of why you don't want to use a knife with teeth instead of a real saw for cutting wood. That kerf is about three times as wide as an ordinary saw would make, which means it's far more work to make the cut.

    -jcr

  • Awesome knife you made, good job.

  • The kukri is the best design for a bush craft knife.

  • could you make 1 of those with like a tactical rubber grip? because if the wood got wet and u werent gripping it all that well might sling outt ur hand so..thats why boyscouts dont allow fixed blades (oh god i just killed the scout master)

  • he sounds like seth rogen!

  • @youseemreallybored a heck of alot don't he lol

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • @youseemreallybored i thought the same thing, lol

  • Hmm... i think that saw is superfluous. Also, i highly recommend to make haldle's base wider (fish tail style), so knife dont have this tendency to come out of hand when slashing. I see those regular knife handles on kukris often, and it is bullshit, a real drag - i dont mean to be rude but it really ruins the knife.

  • l think a black coat on the metal would complement the blade and the teeth, but otherwise, this is a sick knife.

  • thats a pretty tough knife bro good job!

  • F***ing awesome knife man! An you've only been making knives for a year? That's skilzz rite there. I always wanted to learn how to make knives and have always had interest in knives but I don't think I'll ever get that in one year. Dude ur pro.

  • Looks like a great knife. Let me know how I can order one.

  • Very capable knife

  • Great knife. I'd love to order one. Please let me know how I can do so.

  • Very nice blade.

I've just finished my first knife using Greenpete's techniques. Like Pete said to me, it's a knife I will treasure for the rest of my life. I will have to post a video of it, as a thank you to Pete.

  • that my brother, is bad ass!

  • Great knife. too bad it resembles a boomerang

  • gurkha knives resemble boomerangs and are used the world over by people who want a tough knife...

  • Great knife! It definitely needs a sheath. What about it?

  • Damn...my ninth knife didn't look that good...cracking result dude!!!

  • did mr. canterbury make a vid about this knife?????

if he did i cant find it on his page

    someone please reply =)

  • awsome u make ur onw knife....wish i could

  • I thought Dave was going to wait to show this Knife

  • I love the gurkha knife design. It looks to be very strong, useful, and pretty much everything I wanted in that type of knife. Hope to see it in use soon.

  • Good work you should be very proud! Thanks for sharing.

  • Great knife.. looks super cool.. performs well too.

  • Hey I only just found this video, thanks for the mention!

Success stories like this are what makes doing my video worth while, I hope you have a great time making others happy with your craftsmanship.

    Peter :-)

  • Pete, you're the "internet father" of many many knifemakers... Including myself.

  • Ha ha, thanks, you're too kind!

  • Fine job, Keep up the good work!

  • you split the wood with the grain chopping is against the grain but great knife

  • is knife 14.5 over all lenght, or just blade length???

  • how much would one of these set me back to buy from you?

feel free to message me, positively or negatively about it.

awesome knives, and great videos. you're very creative and i appreciate you taking your time to make these knives and these great videos

  • how much would one of these set me back to buy from you?

  • its beautiful

  • im thinking of making a machete out of some really strong steel, then i might make a saw on the back of it.

  • very nice, i really like the option of a draw knife for work work as well as hide tanning. Also the big hole with the exposed steel is handy. I imagine you could hammer with the back end to, a major plus. Ok now comes the question, can ya make me one? (message me if ya want) Yeah Dave is a cool guy from what i know of him through his Youtube, web site and some e mails.

Ok off the green pete, hope to hear from ya soon, outstanding work on the knife.

  • very nice!

  • do u do work on anyones blades? i have a black powder kuhkri blank blade, and i'm wondering if you would do the exact some thing on my blade as this one.

  • did you sketch it out before making it

  • oh, and is the blade 1/2 inch thick or 1/4 inch thick? you say 1/2 in vid, but stats say 1/4

  • It's 1/4"

  • you are the best, im starting to make knives for myself and friends, i was just wondering how much you think you could sell one of those for

  • That is a damn good blade. This is making me really want to learn how to make knives.

  • kind a kurki

  • sweet knife

  • nice knife if it had a gut hook and a leather belt sheath i would buy one.

  • Hell, I'd buy one anyways. I'm always lookin' for a Khukri, without the traditional handle. This one looks interesting. I'd certainly dish out a small fortune for one. lol.

  • vry nice blade

  • Hi,

I don't personally likes the style of this knife but I have to say that you have done a great job to make it. It looks very well maked and I think you should take a lot of pride in your craftmenship.

  • I'm a hobby knife maker out of canada. I've never made a khukuri before and I have to be honest, I wouldn't know how to make that bevel behind the belly. Very nice knife, I hope you stay with it :)

  • Wow.

I am a strong proponent of do it all in any situation kind of blades and I love the design. Nice work.

I am particularly fond of the idea of using the Kukri shape of the blade as a draw knife which is perfect for bow making.

    Keep it up DevilDwarfKnifeSmith!

  • Ross how do we contact you to order one?????
