  • I use to work and live near Faslane. I would often walk my dog on the hills above Clynder towards Coulport. I came across a big black cat twice, but it was just a very big black domestic cat and in good condition.. It was never afraid and was obviously use to people. Wonder if this was it.?

  • i used to work up at faslane and now i swear down ive just seen a fucking big black cat where i live a few hundred miles away. haha i sound nuts but i was walking the dogs in the field and one similar to this came out of the trees and ran away. another persons seen it too now!

  • best footage ive seen so far however, there isnt much countryside in britain and if they catch these cats they will keep it quiet anyway, yes its not a domestic cat and yes they are out there - turned loose during the dangerous wildlife act in 1976 but is it a wild cat in scotland? you can do alot with a camera

  • class footage

  • Opossum

  • The only scary thing about such sightings and anything in the region of cryptozoology is that there are people calling themselves humans living on this planet, to whom the idea of living amoung wild animals all the time is an alien concept.

As if its not just a normal everyday thing for planet Earth for large animals to exist in your midst.

So, they obviously didn't evolve on this planet then did they. They can't even handle farm or pet animals wandering around freely.

  • ITS A FUCKING HOUSE CAT!!!!!!

  • News must have been slow that day!.......................its just ma grannys cat that sits on her knee.

  • people who think that is a dog need their fucking eyes checked

  • @spinspinsugarrr

I've not made my mind up....I try to remain open minded on such matters (as opposed to those who believe in stuff because they want it to be true). Although I will say that it doesn't seem to have a necessarily feline 'slink' to its walk.

  • @slitheen

agreed that wanting to believe it to be true is a serious problem with this! However, i think the one thing that is clear is that it isn't a dog. See the some of the other versions of this video on youtube with mildly better resolution. The argument over size is the interesting one. Assuming that it's not a minature railway, I would have said that it is too large to be a domestic cat. Railway tracks are pretty big when you actually get down on them! However, I researched this... tbc

  • @spinspinsugarrr

and the video was apparently sent to some big cat researcher (a real one from Africa, not a British "expert"), and he said that he saw nothing to indicate it was anything other than a moggy.

  • Its a fukin dog

  • dont listen to these idiots thats a young black panther, u can tell by the rail track massive that is,there everywhere

  • I don't quite understand why people regard this big cat like Bigfoot. It would be one thing if it was like no other creature in the world, but it's not. There are bobcats, panthers, etc in other parts of the world. The only thing unusual about this particular animal is the location.

And this wouldn't be the first time an animal migrated somehow. I read stories of iguanas that drifted across the ocean on fallen tree branches from hurricanes and came ashore on a different country.

  • @rickCoffee FUCK OFF

  • @sparkyjohn100 Well, that was random. Was there something offensive in the comment I made 3 months ago?

  • @rickCoffee no not offensive......just totally stupid

  • @sparkyjohn100 How so? When I said I didn't understand why people treat this like Bigfoot, I was referring to BOTH sides of the "real vs fake" arguments.

    If it's a dog, then it's a dog.

If it's a big cat, then... it's just a big cat. There are even bigger cats called tigers living in India, so it's not like finding a lost dinosaur. If no one was told this was in the UK, they'd assume it was taken in a part of the world that actually has big cats.

  • @sparkyjohn100 Plus, it's like someone saying they saw an elephant in their backyard. Yeah, it sounds absolutely crazy, but only the backyard part. We know elephants exist, so we're not about to put them on the same list as Bigfoot.

If this thing's a hoax, then it's not a very creative one. The only weird thing about it is the fact that's it's "supposedly" in the UK.

I'm just saying that this "big cat" doesn't seem fantastical enough get this kind of hype from believers & skeptics.

  • @rickCoffee i well believe this was taken in the uk, defintly. but i firmly believe this is a domestic house cat. here are my reasons: 1 . lack of discovery of any carcass/body of big cat found in the uk. 2: definite lack of clear/concisive footage of same: 3 .. i spend a lot of time in the countryside, hunting and ive often seen domestic house cats from a similar range, and its very difficult to apply size/type cause of perspective. 3: people want these cats to exist .... lets face it.

  • @rickCoffee also the footage is so grainy even for a mobile phone... if u videoed a child dressed in adults clothes with the same phone/distance i garuantee u couldnt tell the difference.. are we supposed to believe this because it was filmed by"a respected police officer"?? what significance does that hold??... ive said it before but i will do it im going to video a black house cat stalking a rabbit/hare in a huge green field to prove my point.. this is such a no brainer its unreal.

  • @sparkyjohn100 Well, I wasn't really talking about this footage specifically, just this new urban legend in general.

But yes, the point you're making about distance/perspective is pretty close to the point I'm making. It's way too much like a known animal: either a normal-sized housecat or a foreign big cat. If it's real, then it's probably a single animal that strayed too far away from it's natural habitat. Not unheard of.

  • @sparkyjohn100 (continued)

Because I DO agree with you that the UK is NOT a natural habitat for big cats. I never believed that for an instant. Nor do I believe there is an entire family of these cats actually living there. This just strikes me as being the same case as a lone bear wandering into a suburban neighborhood... if it's real.

This is why I don't really consider this the next Bigfoot. It just feels... mundane.

  • Take it from this Australian pest controller-that's not a big cat-mate. That's not even a big moggie!

  • @chicksdigcam WELL SAID

  • If this is supposedly among the best footage... The gap between the rails is 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in, the cat in this film is considerably less than that in length. Just another moggie

  • Its a bloody normal black CAT.

  • @19630541

do you the difference you fucking clown .. in size simply from that footage

  • A black household cat filmed walking along a 'miniature railway'...

  • @naturesony

not even miniature railway unless the rails in Scotland are much higher and broader than on mainland Europe. The cat is walking on the rail, a real big cat would be so big it would simply walk between the rails.

  • i remember my mum goin for a bus to work at 5am one morning, i was up for work to then 2mins later she burst back in the door in tears sayin a massive cat let out a huge growl on the path 30yards away then a week later a guy i know was walkin down the exact same path at 3am and said he saw a huge cat aswell over 2ft tall. hes not got a clue about wildlife but the way he described it was like a lynx. neither my mum or the guy are liars, its remote ayrshire and i am sure we have big cats here

  • Tbh, just looks like a normal cat. Doesn't seem very big to me even tho its been recorded from a distance :L

  • they mightn b liars but as you said yourself " hes not got a clue about wildlife"... or perhaps they were mistaken!!!!!.... i put the "phenomenan2 of big cats in the same bracket as ufos.. people seem to want "big cats" to exist... its human nature to eer on the side of mysterious rather than pragmatisim when confronted with a choice... im sorry but "big cats " do not exist cept for the odd escapee which are invariably recaptured fairly quickly.. and i know a bit bout wildlife and da way it work

  • well i agree that you cant really make a positive id as the picture is poor....however i think that perspective can be used to get a rough idea of size these are the dimensions of the standard British railway lineThe rails themselves are 6 5/8" tall, the top flange is 2 and 22/32" wide and the spacing between lines is is 4' 8 1/2", or 1.435 meters.

the cat is at least 4 times the hight of the railway line and that would put it at over 2 feet high-when was the last time you saw a 2 ft moggy?

  • Comment removed

  • well i can see where you are coming from but your talking about something directly beneath the cat at the exact same distance, not something miles in the background, i think you can judge size. its like it being stood directly next to an object known to be a certain size, you cant get an exact measurement but you could get an approximate....we will just have to agree to disagree bud

  • @tursdaleboy hey i agree with you that cat is aaround 2 and a half feet tall and around 5 maybe 6 feet long

  • @timmiesfiend Dont be silly its not much taller then the actual rail way line rail? I would say 1ft 6 at the most. and probs about 4ft long at the most, roughly Fox size or there abouts. Long ways its no where near the width of the track? so do you know how wide the track is! Its just an escaped jungle cat by the looks of it.

  • @MrNativeDancer i dont mean to start a debate on the topic but my opinion is as i stated 2 ft high 5 - 6 ft long and about 100 - 150 lbs .... sorry thats how i see it .

  • @timmiesfiend Its ok no worries! whos to say which one of us is right any way lol if you including the tail aswell then I would agree, but just body is defo about 4ft. Just comparing to the track.

  • @timmiesfiend what do you see it as a pallet of drugs or something

  • @timmiesfiend i agree between 5 and 6 feet tail tip to nose tip and at least 2 feet from ground to the top of it's fore shoulders , maybe 100 to 150 lbs .

  • yep thats a cat

  • Yep thats a dog!

  • The animal appears to walk on top of the rail for some distance. Easy for a cat, but impossible for a dog
