  • that guitar sometimes sounds like a banjo to me

  • GREAT!!!!!!

  • Is there a tab transcribtion out there for guitar. This is great!

  • lol its an improvisation, play over it your self

  • very good

  • It sounds like Joe Pass is your main influence. Good stuff, man! Even though influences like Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, and Joe Farrell creep into my playing, I can still appreciate it when someone kicks it old-school the way you do!

  • Serious chops man! Are you using economy picking. It doesn't look like your hands are moving too much.

  • Is acousticor its designed to produce soun without an amplifier?

  • shit

  • friggin fast vocabulary jejejej thumbsUP!

  • I own that guitar.

    NO BS.

    Plays great.

  • Would love to get lessons from you!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • dude you are what I like to term a MOTHERFUCKER. thanks heaps man

  • Kinda reminds me of bluegrass.

  • the lick at 00:52 actually sounds a little like country or bluegrass

  • tal farlow?

  • Django Farlow...!

  • A man has to know his limitations,I'll stick to the blues,YOU ARE AWSOME!!!!

  • it's cherokee! you've got this tune inside and out. Love it. Don't know where people say you've got "no feeling". There's so much energy in this solo! it's great!

  • ...Let critics do what they do best.

  • ive seen more emotion in my pet rock! Skill but no thrill.

  • great player, you have a very weird but works for your picking hand style

  • if you dont mind telling us. How long have you playing and how much do you play a day? Really nice playing. 5/5

  • 20 years. I don;t practic a lot now, but work more on rhythms, composition... But I used to play approx 4-8hrs a day. I tune in 4ths so everything moves fast -3x as fast. I'll be finishing a dvd on the topic soon. I recommend swithing asap!

  • After we met at the elephant room, I tried your fourths tuning for two weeks. It worked great for lines, but chords that were once easy became a total bitch to play. How do you compensate?

  • Most drop 2 and 3 chords are still easy, and you need to learn 1/3 or 1/4 the shapes. Larger voicings on 5 or 6 strings or close voicings may be harder--sometimes impossible, however new voicings can be used. And these will generally have a more unique sound! Also try smaller chords on 2 and 3 strings.

  • its bebop!!!

its not about feeling its about Technique.its really fun style for improvisation. great vid

  • Some fine playing, brother.

  • bird lives

  • You sound like a mix between Bireli Lagrene and Joe Pass. Two of my favorite guitar players. YOUR AWESOME.

  • Are you on myspace too?

  • Of course you are sorry

  • awesome fingerwork man!

  • fast but without feeling.

  • zyby you stink, people that say no feel say that because they can't play fast. Just because you suck and play slow doesn't mean you have feel. How could you tell "feel" with a fast bop tune. you imbecile!

  • Dasackman - I didn't say that he wasn't fast, I said that he played without feeling and, in your comment, you confirm that fact. One note played with passion can communicate a whole lot more to me than a thousand sterile exercises played at any speed. A thousand notes played at speed with passion can have feeling too. Perhaps you don't get out enough?

  • amazing man just amazing, beautiful work on one of my favourite tunes, thankyou! nice guitar - any left? what are the pickups by the way?

  • Im telling you right now I have seen Matt play at the Elephant room in Austin and this guy is just an amazing musician and guitar player. This guy should be on the cover of at least GUITAR PLAYER.

  • really great!

  • I think you sound GREAT! You have speed, but beyond the speed there are great ideas and great phrasing, IMO. Keep up the great work!

  • My god!! very nice

  • great chops and nice outlining of the changes. just relax a little

  • I want that guitar.

  • I have a few left-and am blowing them out for $450 shipped with case!

  • *Runs off down the docks to sell ass* - got any in tobbacco sunburst?

  • Hi Matt, we spoke today on the phone. Hope we can sort out the shipping etc etc on the guitar. Dave.

  • Lots of nice ideas and great technique... You are really good.

  • phrasing and direction are what most speed scalers lack.

  • you have a unusual right hand picking style, heavy chops!

  • I agree with Wille27. You got rambling on your mind.

Shame cus you can sure play.

  • Too dull!!! Are you running from the police or something?

Take advantage of you good technique in a musical way!!!

  • yikes! thats some scary speed.

  • great ! god slow down! no very nice
