  • Holy cow he just barely got away with it, perhaps that may be called a golden bb but I might be wrong but for sure the pilot got away with it due to training and surely good luck.Excellent landing.

  • Damaged and no flaps!

  • Excellent landing with that much damage: respect!

  • well done, congratulations to the pilot experience and training. From the Caribean

  • Well the Serbs hit him but they didnt get him and they didnt get to take pictures of each other posing on the wreckage because this young French pilot stayed cool and brought that baby back.

He's ok, France doesnt lose an expensive airplane and his family was happy too!

    Greetings from California.

  • Une belle dentelle digne de Landivisiau !

  • That Etentard was really super.

  • what is the date of the mission?? when was it damaged?

  • Captain of the Ship: Your plane is pretty beat up....you can eject and we'll come pick you up.

Pilot: No...fuck it, I am just going to land the thing.

Captain of the Ship: We'll ready the emergency crews.

Pilot. No worries. I got this

    *sticks landing*

  • @StarWarsSurvivalist your a gay.

  • Nice flying !!

  • Fantastique! Bravo au pilote!

  • It clearly seems that and IR seeker barely missed the tail of the Super Etendard, radar-guided missiles tend to have a more central or even frontal point of impact, due to the fact that radar guided missiles are fired from medium to long ranges to planes that are aproaching the battery, and in this case it is clear that the missile was chasing the engine heat...

Luck, skill, titanium balls and maybe some flares led to this plane landing safe in the CdG, respect for the Aéronavale from Spain!

  • @aitouammi I'm not exaggerating I retired after 20 years in the US Navy with tours on the USS Kitty Hawk , CV-63 and USS Constellation, CV-64 and I've seen plenty of damaged aircraft land on a flight deck, that was a professional landing.

  • excellent landing

  • Not easy bringing a plane back anywhere after battle damage but to a carrier that shows the quality of a true combat professional!

  • @duanedonecker don't exagerate , it depends on the type of damage

  • That's how I want to land! Too fast, sideways, and the tail shot to pieces! A cognac for the gentleman.

  • Superb landing, BRAVO !!

  • Good to see the Pilot and the Plane made it back

  • mon dieu! the souffle is kaput!

  • grosses coroness le pilote

  • it wasnt damaged over bosnia it was damaged over serbia 1999 i personaly shot at that plane

  • That's exactly what my ass looked like after my wife caught me coming home late!

  • @tj987654987654Andrew your wife is serb?

  • @tj987654987654Andrew noooo you didn't offend me at all!

i was making a silly joke myself! my ex-wife was serb( she still is,actually!), and she would act like your own wife, under the same circumstances.

somebody should invent the kevlar coated underwear!

have a good one! and salute your lady

  • Lucky one ;)

  • wooow the super etendard gone hit with a SAM and his plane don't destroyed?¿?¿?¿?¿ WOOOOOOOOW

Good aircraft... and good carrier and good video XD

  • That is one very lucky Pilot!.

That is one very good Pilot!.

Too many 'what if's' to even think about.

The landing was perfect!. (any landing you can walk away from is a good one, they say).

    Impressive, very impressive indeed!.

  • during 1980-1988 iraqis flew mirage f1 with exocet over persian gulf vs iranian oil tankers! piss out you iranian pork eaters!

  • @usasmegheadtroll1 "piss out"

  • To bad that we were on opposite side during that period... FAF and FNY always played fair !!!

    Viv la France !

  • helping hand .....

should definitely thank the captain of that carrier

  • It's a Etendart IV P, reconnaissance version with cameras in place of the radar...Not a Super Etendart ...

Yes the the AA missiles have the same effect as a very big shotgun

  • how did the sam do that? I thought sams were missle not flying shotguns

  • SAMs are rockets aiming at a finally small target in the sky,so,in order to increase their chances of success, they are equipped with proximity fuses, that way, they don't need to actually touch the target, should they pass close enough, these fuses will explode, propelling schrapnell all around.

given the poor state of the elevator,i believe this missile touched, though.

  • @jetaddicted Of course, if it was prox fuzed (almost a certainty, is this missile system selectable?) it would not have struck the aircraft in the classic sense of the word. Possibly the spent missile body carried on through the elevator though.

  • Man, that was close! looks like the missile detonated a couple meters behind the plane. Good thing it didnt go up the tail pipe or he would have been done for.

  • "We aint gonna fall for no banana in the tailpipe trick"

  • what happened to the plane? was it in a combat mission?

  • Etandard IV.

  • As the son of an A7 jockey I have the utmost respect for any and all combat pilots.

  • Pilot owes his flight crew some beers.

  • Très impressionnant.....

    à peine croyable...

    Merci !

  • FYI, It's a multirole fighter.

  • Etendard no Super.........hit from MANPADS over ex Yugoslavia.......

  • Good job getting the airplane back aboard the boat!

  • What are you talking about? It's recon capable. Also, during any modern war on the gulf, Saddam never let the air force off the ground.

  • read Iran-iraq war in the air,,bye Tom Copper..

    ignorant

  • If ya wanna be thataway, the Super etendard wouldn't have been used during that war. It's role likely filled by the J-7 instead.

  • It´s a Etendard IV P, a reconaissance version. These were used over Bosnia, and one was lost to SAMs. I suggest yyou to take less coffee, and more books, not only those about great prince of persia

  • SpiderMack89,, OK,, thanx

  • no super etendard was ever lost by the french navy, the iraqis lost one,the french air force lost a mirage 2000n over bosnia...

  • 1,insulting people will get you nowhere

2,it's an etendard IVp,p stands for photo...

3,it was hit by manpads over yougoslavia in 1994

4,no french pilots ever flew combat missions against iran, 5 super etendards were rented to iraq and they flew combat missions over iran, firing exocet missiles on ships leaving the kharg terminal, flown by IRAQI pilots, one was lost

5,after flying a damaged plane over ennemy territory, and landing it on a deck,in rough seas,i would be scared like shit, and you too

  • @jetaddicted

    1. Sorry I didn't mean any insult if you were offended.

    2. Both me and my wife are American.

3.American women can be a handful of drama.

4 I'm prior Air force pilot.

  • @PersianEagle5000

Sinon ta gueule pour voir putain de rageu !

  • he was hit by a sam that lucky fucker , great to see that he lived.

  • It was during ex Yugoslavia war in the 1990 th. The aircraft carrier was off Yugoslavia coasts.

  • one lucky pilot

  • tough bird

  • I agree !! Tough bird !

  • This is NOT a Super Etendard, this is Etendard IV P N°115 (P means Photo).

  • nice:)

  • geoago is right it's an Etendard IV not a Super Etendard

  • Etendart (no super) hit from manpads over Afghanistan?

  • Don't think so. I would say during the first Irak war in 1991.

  • هاي السوبر الايتندار اللي ناجت خوات الايرانين العجم

  • كس اختك يا ابن القحبة هسه الخليجين ينيكون امك واختك على سرسر واحد

  • 1982 ---> Super Etendard + Exocet probado en combate. Efectividad 100%
