Seriously.... what's the point of moving the kids from breastmilk to cow's milk? What's so great about another species' milk? It has to be pumped, bought, and refrigerated. Breastmilk is designed for human babies - cows milk isn't. And BM is always there! I couldn't BF my baby, I nearly died in childbirth and was so ill that I didn't produce milk. But with #3 I will be trying to feed until at least 2. If bub wants to BF until he's 4, so be it.
@bbwtickler you comment just shows your ignorance about human lactation . Human beings are not dogs or even closely related to dogs. Please do some rsearch before you come speing out stupdity. Maybe if ou had breastfeed until you were 3 you would be a little brighter???
The average age for weaning in humans is between the ages of 2 and 7 according to studies done by Katherine Dettwyler, PhD from Department of Anthropology,Texas A and M University
ANIMALS dont let their young breastfeed until the offspring is "ready", ever see a puppy and mother? the mother will snap at the puppy after a while. This is just stupidity. Whatever logic you have for not stopping, can also be used for a 12 year old asking to join in as well, can it not? love is love. Healthy milk is healthy milk, right? Tell me, is the ONLY thing the 3 year old eating is milk? no! WHY!? because they would starve to death. WHY?! because they are BEYOND breastmilk!
What a lovely video! I can't understand why people find this odd. My son is almost three and he still seems so little. He nurses along with his sister who is 8 months. He will stop when he is ready. There isn't anything more natural than that! Thank you for sharing!
I nursed my son until he was 32 months, and my daughter until she was a week shy of 3. I used a very gentle form of parent led weaning, but I always took my cues from them. It is a beautiful thing you are doing for your daughter and for yourself. I can't wait until September when my newest little one will arrive and I can share a nursing relationship with him/her!!
