  • some really good stuff here

  • Long live Yuri Gagarin!

  • I honor what you did, Yuri. If i had a glass of vodka with me right here, I would drink it in honor to you. But right now I simply have these words to say. :) Thank you! Happy New Year, Yuri Gagarin!

  • USA wasn't the first to the moon, nutjobs. Russia was, USA sent the first MAN to the moon!

  • After Yuri Gagarin came back to Soviet Russia, he started express his religious views more openly, and said that there must be God, so the KGB and the atheistic communist government had conspired to kill him. His airplane crash that caused him to die was not an ordinary crash. Ask any Russian now and they will tell you! I used to live in Russia. Yuri Gagarin was the world's best aircraft pilot, the accident report just doesn't add up. Rest in Peace Youri Gagarin.

  • @afg96 haha, i don't think so. The god was not up there i'm afraid, and he did not talk to yuri. don't make stuff up.

  • @leptismagna10 I'm sorry but your intellect is similar to a toddler! I never said that Yuri talked to God! I only said what was a fact writing in many independent articles. I live in Russia! People there believe that something changed Yuri's opinion on life! He never spoke of it, but just said one simple thing "There is God up there" If you go to early archives you might find this out. I believe the National Library of Congress in Washington DC should have some old documents in there!

  • @afg96 so what do you think changed Yuri's opinion? I don't think he witnessed anything supernatural, or found any proof for gods.

Only the natural universe is up there, no invisible magic men, and if you have faith, well sorry to break it to you but faith is NOT a scientific fact. You can have faith in just about anything, faith is cheap.

His religious "opinion" is probably a story invented by the Russian Orthodox Church, which is more corrupt and full of lies than the Communists!

  • @afg96 whether or not Yuri Gagarin had faith in gods is of no interest to anyone, least of all scientists and astronomers.

What is interesting is what he FOUND up there, and he found NO EVIDENCE for gods.

You can have all the faith in the world in your god, but without any evidence, your faith means absolutely nothing.

  • @leptismagna10 I'm a man of science and religion! My mom is a doctor and many of my relatives come from scientific background! Science itself isn't a fact! It is a philosophy like religion did you know that? And by the way Science was created by Muslim specially Astronomy, Algebra, Chemistry, and Medical Science. Also Issic Newton believed in God and so did Albert Einstein Planck Leonardo Da Vinci too. There is only ONE God! Not gods! Theories don't have evidence either that is why they r theory

  • 2:48 she says 1969 ? I think it was 1968 ! well It's what you can read at the end of the movie : First Orbit ...

  • So if you are ugly you can't be the first to spend 108 ridiculous minutes in Earth's exosphere. Eh humans. Fucking lookist losers.

  • USSR - Forever! USSR+USA=Friends! Fuck Politics!))))))

  • t....

  • his birthday is same as mine im honored ?

  • the union soviet was most important than united state in the space

  • @1wiebite We made it to the moon. Suck on that Trebek.

  • @TheDragonOfPoe this is false

  • @1wiebite It is true. As a matter of fact we made it to the moon 6 times to The Soviet Union's ZERO.

  • Юрий Гагарин е една Руска ДУША , решила да запознае "американские" друзя с жизнъ на аеродроме.

  • RUSSIA EMPIRE №1

  • Gagarin had what the crudest Americans would call a Shit-Eatin' Grin ( a nice smile). Thank you Yuri Gagarin.

  • @GeorgiBancov No wonder western europeans hate you guys.

  • @GeorgiBancov The fuck does that have to do with now?

THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT THE PAST?

The fuck are you talking about? Never once did I talk about future missions.

I never said NASA was better than anybody you idiot, are you eastern european by any chance?

  • @GeorgiBancov That's a argument from an assumption because I never stated we done anything later.

You bringing up the future when i'm talking about the past, as it has nothing to do with the future.

I never said we ever did anything else after that, I just stated in my opinion that it is a better achievement.

Also, why did you put exclamation points like you really did something?

You made an assumption that I said we've continued doing things in space, when it comes to the moon.

  • I can't believe the level of ignorance and immaturity I see in the comments here.

Keep your bloody nationalistic crap to yourselves, and instead celebrate the first human being to reach space!

A belated Happy Birthday, Yuri, and it is a shame you are not here anymore.

  • Гагарин! Наш герой! Навсегда в наших сердцах

And to nickbfilms: YOU ARE LAME

  • he may have been the first person in space, but i'm gonna be the first person to fuck hot chicks in space. YO!!

  • russia and ukraine forever!

  • ahahah Stupid аmericans, out of envy that somewhere they are not the first breed srach. Well, what can you do feel sorry for you, your mind is not present, the nazis came to hire, that the missile create one ....

  • If I was yuri, i would have been like: Oh YEAAAAHHH! I WENT TO SPACE, BITCH!!! YEA!!! TAKE THAT AMERICA

WHEN I GET BACK I'M GONNA FUCK ALL Y'ALL BITCHES!!

    p.s.

I'm american, that's just how i would have acted if i was him

  • @NickBFilms that's how americans act

but unfortunately Yuri did't act like this.

  • @Myytmovies Neil Armstrong left one of Yuri's medal on Moon as a tribute to him.

  • @Myytmovies Many people doesn't believe that a MAN was on the Moon. I don't either. If that was possible the USSR would have done it, but they only managed to get their remote controlled vehicles on the Moon.

  • Respond to this video... When they launched the Rocket in to the Space with Gagarin - nobody thought about Evidence at that time. they didn't need any evidence. What for? They had all the technology, Americans knew it, they launched a first Sputnik in to the space and got a signal back, they launched a dog and the dog landed alive, they launched a Man and he landed alive. WHO would care about evidence after all the work they've done?

  • Comment removed

  • @Myytmovies her name was Laika you asshole, and by the way, USSR was 1RST in space , get it over stupid

    American.

  • @zZDeMoNiCBoYZz and the USA was first on the moon, I don't care about who wins the space race as all are victories for man kind.

But landing on the moon is a MUCH better achievement than just achieving orbit.

  • @AgrivatedKillah Yeah, but building a space station is a much bigger achievement than landing on the moon.

  • Comment removed

  • @oavel24 Wrong.

    The dog died.

Why would you lie about that?

    Blocked.

The dog name was Laika, and it died.

  • Go Yuri!!!!!!. F U NASA superheroes.

  • fake

  • @falsecomment Fake USA NASA,so stupid ppl

  • @TheStreetMoscow

based on german technology, you russian shit

  • @RedPulli hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahhahahahaha you really faggot man!!Russian technology best!!!U american doggy shit

  • @TheStreetMoscow

spasiba,my friend, indeet gagrin was a great man

  • 8 years without flying? what a cruel punishment for a flyer! fly in peace Yuri!

  • Okay, it seems that everyone else is saying 1968 as well... hmmm, my source must be wrong. I have a book called "One Small Step" by David Whitehouse which documents and parallels the space race between the Soviets and the USA. It's a fascinating read and gives great insights into Sergei Korolev and Werner Von Braun's achievements and failures. It quite clearly gives Yuri's death date as 27.03.69 but I guess Mr Whitehouse must be wrong...

  • Ooh, correction... He died on March 27 1969, not 1968. Wiki says 1968 - I'd better notify them of that...

  • The reporter says that Yuri died on July 20 1969 and then Armstrong & Aldrin put one of of Yuri's medals on the moon. How did they get them? Did they turn back and get them? Since Apollo 11 LEFT Earth on July 16 and Yuri died on July 20, how did they get his medals?

I'm being sarcastic here; the reporter got it wrong, he actually died on March 27, 1968.

  • well, as we all know, soviet was based of lies, so also this so called space flight probably was fake. LOL rus cant even build a aeroplane, so sputnik would be absolutely too much for them. Pure bull shit whole soviet story.

  • Did she just quote Buzz Lightyear?!

  • gordost nasha ti Yuriyi !! respect !! Slava !! Slava !! Slava !!

  • Great achievement people of the Soviet Union. Gagarin was great, but I feel Korolyov was the true hero.

  • Very nice video, thank you

  • look the russia beat usa for first person in space

  • @daboomNO1 the usa have never put a man on the moon. hollywood lies. korolyev was 10 times the genius of the nazi war criminal von braun.

  • Юрий Гагарин теперь ходить со звездами

  • Congratulations!!! Rest in peace the first human being in space!!!! Yuri Gagarin!! slava tebe!!!

  • i'll be the last human to be alive.XD

  • Not to think about Yury Gagarin, wanted a fool for daring to such a risk in a time where space travel still left much to be desired. But I'm sure, is that it was a man of bravery and courage enviable. I send you greetings from COLOMBIA up there, in the stars.

  • After the USSR successfully launched Sputnik into space, the U.S. enviously said that the first man in space will be an American... Soviet Union won. =)

  • Its truly amazing how Russia achieved this, getting out of horrors and destruction of WWII, in a region of a few precious resources and scaring America's powerful strength and the nation's abundant resources to face this problem

  • ПОЗДРАВЛЕНИЯ ВСЕМ В МИРЕ С ДНЕМ КОСМОНАВТИКИ, С 50- ЛЕТИЕМ ПЕРВОГО ПОЛЕТА!!! УРА!!!

  • April 12th 1961, 09:07 am Moscow time, Baikonur Cosmodrome (USSR)

    поехали!

    greetings from Italy

  • Pena que a terra hoje está cinza !!

  • Countries go by but the true value of human efforts remain.

  • how did the us react to this??

  • @dominicfhk with utter surprise & shock. As an American (and a resident of Earth), I'm very proud of the achievements in manned space flight by my own countrymen & those of the former USSR. In response to Gagarin's incredible flight, the US put Alan Shepard into space in a 15-minute sub-orbital flight just 3 weeks later on May 5. But it would take 9 more months (February 20, 1962) before American John Glenn could match the orbital flight reached by Gagarin. All these guys had "The Right Stuff!"

  • Yuri Gargarin a real true hero not only to Russia but to the whole world

  • С днём космонавтики!

    50 лет!!!

  • Yuri Gagarin is a hero not only in Russia he was one of the greatest people on our planet. A real hero. Congrats Russia to this great person from Germany

Its 50 years ago amazing ^^

  • Congratulations for 50 anniversary!!! Gagarin is the man!

  • CCCP.... yay..

  • Soviet government killed him =( because he started to become too famous =( the same thing about than guy who started to build Soviet atomic bombs, where the government put that man in to gulag, but as soon as Usa started to build rackets with help of Germans scientists, the soviet government had to bring that Soviet scientist back from gulag to start the arm race against Usa, fucking communism =( its so brutal =( all clever guys got killed and sent to get executed =(

  • "Lets ride"

a first human words in space

  • i dont get it

    what did he changed?

  • @High2Tension our future -) no one imagined that human can be in space..or do u think U.S had it already?lol

  • Hoax

  • CCCP rules for ever and ever!!!

viva la madre patria, viva la unión soviética tobarich

  • Balls of Concrete!

  • Today is the 50 anevirsity :D

  • Who would have thought that the USSR would restore in just 7 years after the terrible World War 2? In 1952, the Soviet Union created the atomic bomb. Only 7 years old when she restore half of the country was razrushino fascists. Next was the Cold War, a pity that the USSR was a revolution, it did not give the country evolve further. This page stories friends.

  • It's very cool that one of his medal is now left on the moon.

  • Циолковский, Ленин, Сталин,

    Берия, Гулаг, Гагарин!

  • Bravo i srecno u buducnosti Ruska braco . Nadam se i vecim uspesima Ruske kosmicke ere. Srecno

  • 50 years of the first man in space!

    CELEBRATE!

  • One of the biggest heroes of mankind. A great man, a great communist. Salut Y.A. Gagarin!

  • the earth is blue)))))

  • Very cool, a great date to remember! and Starwalk for iPhone is on sale for the day

  • Very cool, a great date to remember

  • That was small step for man, but its huge for mankind !!! Rest in peace the greatest man in human history Yuri Gagarin !!

  • stop the idiotic talk here!

  • happy 50th anniversary to your spaceflight

  • Anyone else's audio screw up on this video?

  • I love Russia... "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"... Kisses from Greece.

  • срач был неизбежен...

  • Yuri the real hero!!!

  • I'm glad for all human achievements (in space), but there's one achievement that I admire the most even more than the first step on the moon - sending the first man in space! In my opinion this is the true giant step for humanity!

  • He was a real life Space Ranger.

  • To infinity and beyond! Bah to the all trolls!

  • Yuri Gagarin is one of the greatest people to ever live.

  • it doesn't matter what country he was from.... he was the pioneer of a new age, on of the greatest men who ever lived.

  • I am in my life looked a lot amerekanskih documentary films about space, Gagarin in several films occasionally mentioned about the MIR station only once saw a couple of sentences of dozens of films, the main dosttizheniya space upomenyayutsya only an American man on the moon and a telescope Hubble.

  • The west isn't hiding anything about Soviet and Russian space achievements. I mean, think about it, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin left a Yuri Gagarin space medal on the moon! What that have been allowed if we were trying to hide Soviet achievements? That shows you that while there was a political war, the individual heros of each country were honest and looked up to each other, as did the two space agencies.... even if they were competing a bit. And don't forget 1975 Apollo-Soyuz project!

  • HBD to you

  • Congratulations on today the 50th anniversary of this great achievement! Gagarin, the USSR and all it acomplished will never be forgotten!

  • @markgbullen but Gagarin was just an big healthy farmer with little piloting skills, which whwere put into a capsule wich was programed to turn around the world. - but that dosen´t matter - :D

  • I think many people feel very close to Yuri even though they never met him.

  • Balls. He had them.

  • Yuri Gagarin is an international hero for the ages. I have NEVER heard any person in the US disparage Yuri Gagarin.

Credit must be given to the Soviet space program.

I can assure Russians, we were never taught anything different in our US schools. Yuri Gagarin was THE first man in space!

Space is still an unforgiving place.

  • @ZombiedustXXX sure, the problem is that now a lot of people

in usa don#t know who jurij gagarin is.

try to find his fotos in Chicago space/tech museum - there is only one small

foto there on 5-6 place after us austronauts I see it last year

  • From a loser in the First World War, a rural country, with no industry, devastated from a savage civil war - to the space and victor of the greatest war in human history, this is what the Soviet Union was about.

  • "It's sad that Gagarin died one year before Armstrong walked on the moon... Despite all the tension and hatred between their countries they will be remembered and admired forever. Not many remember or give a shit after 50 years who were Presidents in USSR in 1961 or USA in 1969, but everybody will remember hundreds of years from now (if we don't destroy ourselves until than) the names of these brave heroes of humanity."

Just wanted to repost this comment because it's so true.

  • @grazhdaninrossii I agree. couldn't have said it better myself..

  • Люди! Ето не совсем в тему, но меня бесит когда набираеш в google (video) или youtube "first man in space", то там выходит Joe Kittinger, который в принципе только первый в атмосфере был.

  • Left it on the moon? Puleeeeaase!

  • Also, 16 days from now the whole world will celebrate 50 years from that historic achievement. Say a prayer for him and hope that wherever he is proud of what we achieved since he open that door for us.At least we didnt nuke ourselves from orbit...just from Enola Gay.

  • It's sad that Gagarin died one year before Armstrong walked on the moon. I wish there was a picture of them shaking hands. Despite all the tension and hatred between their countries they will be remembered and admired forever. Not many remember or give a shit after 50 years who were Presidents in USSR in 1961 or USA in 1969, but everybody will remember hundreds of years from now (if we don't destroy ourselves until than) the names of these brave heroes of humanity.

  • Human power not USA or Russia!

  • Wow... Yuri was extremely nervous back then....

Because He was the first man lunched on space, and he didn't knew what will happen, Noone before him was on Space, He and very small hope that he will survive, since there can be serious damages and sometimes rocket will blow... Something wrong will happed... he was sooo nervous

Wow He's the Hero of all Astronouts!

He was very happy thet he survived and the world was full fo love when he made it!

He's a hero of whole mankind, Yuri Gagarin.

  • 9 марта 1934 года родился ЮРИЙ ГАГАРИН - Первый Космонавт в Мире! Исполняется 77 лет со дня его рождения! On March 9, 1934 was born YURY GAGARIN - the First Cosmonaut in the World! It is 77 years from his birth date!

  • id be Very proud to be him First man in the WHOLE world to be in space!

  • its Korolyov's achievments !!

  • America lost the space race because of President Eisenhower. He had no interest in space and didn't want a German immigrant (Von Braun) to make the first space rockets. Von Braun was ready but Eisenhower kept saying "No". I hate Eisenhower for that. President Kennedy was interested but was only in office a few months when Yuri Gagarin went into space. The Russians also sent the first woman in space in the 1960's. The U.S.A. didn't send a woman until the 1980's. Another mistake.

  • @mshamiltonohio Also soviets could have gone to the moon in 1967, but politburo was not interested, Korolyov was disappointed...

  • Long live Yuri Gagarin and the CCCP

  • gonna be 50 years since he went in to space soon i think

  • That gay aint my hero LOL ;)

  • Must we denegrate the achievements of a handful of very brave men because of long dead political issues? I think Yuri Gagarin and Alan Sheppard probably would have got along, in fact Gagarin would likely have busted a gut laughing when Sheppard decided to play golf on the moon.

  • Gagarin - 1!

  • Za Yuriya y Russio

  • 3:00 Armstrong left a medal on the moon as a tribute for Yuri.

    Huge Respect. :)

  • Please post ths video in spanish in russia today´s spanish youtube page, Congratulations from Mexico City.

  • CCCP!!!

  • apollo 11 crew's tribute to Gagarin on the moon only shows us that all those men and women who went up there went for the benefit of the mankind - it's sad that many people nowadays discredit Gagarin or Neil and Buzz's achievements and try to make them as hoaxers. all of them are heroes of mankind.

  • he is no russian, He is a man.

  • @gapanlilio33

    ahaha

    FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • the free man on air!

  • In the most popular legend, Yury Gagarin wasn't crushed in 1968, but he was gets by aliens to the sky. And now he is still looks on as.

  • There are reports according to which there had been many tragic failures before Gagarin's orbit, and Gagarin himself was really about to die many times in his dangerous flight. We also know that Curtis LeMay wanted to shoot down his Vostock as soon as he passed over USA, but this never occurred

  • wtf, i have headphones and its only playing audio out of the right side

  • Yuri is a hero. Nice touch by the Americans to leave the medal on the moon, I didn't know that.

  • @latmask00 I agree, he is a hero: an inspiring figure of space exploration. The report is wrong when it states that he was killed on July 20, 1969. That is the date when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon, so it would have been impossible for them to bring a medal for someone they didn't know was about to die. Yuri Gagarin died in March 1968. Unfortunately, I was not able to find independent confirmation about NASA honoring Gagarin by leaving a medal on the moon: I hope it's true.

  • Russia had many great people, and we will do so no matter what goes around! This is not only Russian pride, but pride of all human kind : the competition between countries brought great accomplishments that we enjoy today!

  • I am glad that the first man to be in kosmos is Russian, but look at the population at that time, more than half of them were very poor because the government spent all the money on space projects. So if americans wern't the first on space but the government took care of the pepole, the only poor men were those who did not want to work. I am russian by the way. Horray for you es a.

  • @victorchb Yeah the American government took care of their people alright. The nation was exploding with racial tension, plus Vietnam and Korea were down the line. USA was good for some and bad for others.

  • @victorchb

what the hell are you talking about? you do know everything you said is a total lie right?

lets begin by the fact that life expectacy in the soviet union during the 60s was bigger than USA's, the thing about the only poor people being the ones that didnt want to work is a fallacy and finally according to your profile you are 25 old and live in seattle, even if you were once russian you are too young, gagarin went to space in 1961

  • Tuunii uils monh orshih bolno.

  • April 12 / 1961 the beginning of our modern world. :) long live Yuri !

  • In one of version Gagarin wasn't die in 1968, he was escaped by aliens.

  • the GREATEST and AMAZING cosmonaut without fear ever !!! And Georgi Ivanov too :)

  • ユリ・ガガーリンは当時のロシアにとって英雄だったんですね。懐かしい映像ありがとうございます。

  • YURI RULEZ! R.I.P.

  • HIRE IS ACTUAL TRUTH I SAYING IT ASA WITHNESS! Nikita Chrushev asks him " Did you see any god up there ?" Yuri Gagarin answers very politly " I was looking at the right and left and around, and I could not notice anybody "

He did not say that he did not say a god. He was asked a certain question by Nikita Krushov, Soviet premier and had to give a sertain answer. Gagarin did not say that god does not exist or the god does exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @davmul1980 it is his right, not to believe in god. Why do people believe in God can advertise it, and those who do not believe - no? Or you have proovement of God existance?

  • @davmul1980

I believe you got the info slightly wrong. Kruschev never asked him that question but said once that Gagarin flew into space and did not see any God. Since then, that phrase has been attributed to Gagarin

  • To be a citizen of the Communist Russia did not mean not to be a Christian. For example, to be a citizen of the USA does not mean to be a Christian. Yuri Gagarin never said that. That was said by the American newspapers

  • The first cosmonaut in the world history is Yuri Gagarin. And he is Russian. And he is Christian. And it is forever

  • He is sureley christian, thats why his first report from the orbit was "I don't see any god here"... He was a soviet citizen not christian!

  • @TheBlindPowerslave That was just western propaganda to make Soviets look naîve. He never said that.

    Gagarin never spoke of God.

  • What does it matter what kind of mythology he believed or did not belive in?

  • So they chose him because he was handsome... ah, interesting!

  • u know that gayfag Atlantis Saturn states that gagarin never went to space, what a pussy

  • The hero of all people of Earth!
