  • 1Are you the captain of the ship? yes.2What are you doing if the weather is calm? must help others.6How many crew members do you have? 42

  • wow nice,! can u answer the rest of the questions captain?))

  • 3how long are usually your trips? 12 hours

4how often to you go on "trips"? 2 times a week 5Can you afford yourself a Mercedes)) after a few trips? i mean do they pay you descent money? yes

  • wow thats nice.. can your crew carry AK 47s, RPGs or something as a defense from pirates?

  • yes

  • um ok? Explain please, i though The boats that has been caputerd at somalia didnt have guns onboard their ship, this is because of the troublesome weaponlisence in the different country's the boat is visiting.

  • that was a cruise ship our cargo ships are aloud to defend ourselves by all means by the pircay act law made by the un we could do whatever it takes although rpgs and ak47s wouldnt be my weapon of choice.

  • trips are usually 6 months without visting home but after that the rest fo the year is yours to do whatever yes i can afford a mercedes even better a lotus exige it pays for me about 210 000 per 6 months boring job though except when stuff happens buts thats pretty rare for me

  • you mean 35 000 $ per month ?!?!? ... isnt it too much even for captain .... whats your company and occupation on the ship :)

  • my company is ablecargo and i am a captain and no that isn't too much that sounds about right im away from my family for that whole time so i should be getting money along with my crew

  • totally agree with you ... but iam so surprised for the reason that Bulgarian captain take at about 7-8000 euro even if he works for west- European, Asian or American company... probably they take us exactly because of the cheap labor

iam a deck cadet now and hope one day my wage to be as much as yours :)))

  • well i wish you luck

  • How many containers do you loose on average?

  • i haven't lost any seas aren't very ruough at least not enough to knock any off... the one thing interesting i recently seen was a boat called the sea sheperd i beleive was the name attacking a wahling ship with 2 dingys throughing something on the other ship it was close to the antartic i was taking automotive parts to australia but had to avoid a big storm

  • Umm dude, lay off the crack pipe

  • what do you mean? google sea shepherd and see thats its real

  • yeah its a show on nat geo... pretty cool show... is it true that there is basicly "no law" out there?

  • well in national waters the UN makes the rules, although there are rules its hard to enforce them in such a big amount of water. the asians are mainly the rule breakers but alot of south americans do as well. basically anything that happens is not seen because the UN doesnt have a boats to patrol the waters so yes there is basically no law.

  • @aescobar32 hey sorry to rpely 1 year later but for some reason i just got this now and yes their are pretty much no laws you can do what you want because coastguards cant go into international water if you are very unlucky you may run into a military ship but you'd still have to be in a high traffic area which is somewhat close to shore maybe 50-100 miles out

  • @wokkle You don't know what you are talking about! The Coast Guard goes all over the world and ESPECIALLY in International waters!

  • @3Mudbone1 you dumb fuck international waters aren't patrolled what are you smoking? coast guards are ran by governments and therefore can't leave government controlled waters because they are on their own if they do!

  • @wokkle Listen you extremely ignorant shit head! Tou really should do the world a favor and blow the shit out of your head!

  • @3Mudbone1 your comments make me laugh everytime, watched them all for 6-8 months now, I love the total overreaction you have, this is good this good, keep it up, just love it. I check into your channel once a week just to read your past comments on others' videos and pass them onto the folks I know.

I am sure you know what you are doing and make good money doing it.

Keep up the good work and keep breaking those balls of those less fortunate, LOL good times.

  • @wokkle YOU are a liar! I am certain you have never sailed a day in your life! Trying to impress people with your lies. I HAVE sailed IN THE BEST UNIONS IN THE WORLD! I can see thru your BS a mile away!

  • @3Mudbone1 LOL!!! you rock dude

  • @wokkle You are the captain of a plastic toy boat in your bathtub. You sure have a great imagination BOY!

  • That is good money considering all you really have to do is sit around and to make sure the ship does not sink.

  • trust me , its not that easy , many people start getting depressed after staying away from land for months.

  • I think the fact that a ship of this size that travels at relatively low speeds ,compared to cars and smaller boats for example, and it still needs windshield wipers tells you what these things have to deal with.

  • I you aren't there you can't imagine what's going on. It's more worst as a roller coaster and not predictable. It's better sailing in dens fog as with wind.

  • Heey Lullo, That's up to me. If you have a problem with go somewhere else!

  • @1959fordguy SPeed makes no difference, you still need windscreen wipers to see out when sitting stationary in your car at the lights, for example.

  • Twist locks prevent the containers for falling

  • lol i like the bakground lol. hahahhahhahahahahha. wtf is dat grandad laughing about?

  • That's Dutch Radio. It leads you of grom the Sh*t

  • hahaha, that is Edwin Evers :)

    he rules on the radio!:P

always fun in the morning :D

  • Dutch Radio on the background...

  • cool video

  • Pride of Braila is only a little 2000tonne feeder coaster and it's only the North Sea . . but it looks quite uncomfortable for her. One of the latest generation 100,000 tonners would have a little roll on.

  • I suppose the Adrian Maersk wouldn't feel a thing, or the even bigger ships I've heard they ordered in 2008, but of course 43 meters wide is a bit more than those 4 Lego-cubes....

  • Nothing can extend extremly forces, but the first thing what happends is that containers get damages after that a followup which you can't definate.

Off course nothing is 100% so there will somehowe/ somewhere a weak link which can lead to serious damage or even lost of a container.

So never be at the wrong time at the wrong place

    Regards

  • what would it take to knock one of those containers off into the sea?

  • Nothing because of good lashing, The container will be damaged but not off

  • sono feasible wave could knock off a container?

  • Large container vessels shed boxes surprisingly often, and these can be hazardous to smaller vessels - yachts, fishing boats, etc, as they often tend to float just around the surface, so can be invisible until you're right onto them. Hitting a 20-tonne steel box with a GRP hull at any kind of speed would probably do terminal damage.

  • @shipspottersTV When you say surprisingly often do you mean quite a number? I'm exporting a car via container so I am glad I opted for the insurance during transit.

  • Did you lose steerage? Looks like you are taking the sea a bit more to the beam than you ought too.

I was caught in a typhoon that went retrograde east of the Philipines back in '91. 100 footers, very frightening.

  • That's what I thought! Maybe they are trying to save money on fuel and labour?

  • my container was in front with 100 pc ...lol

  • I would only sugest to the captain to Put his foot down harder.

  • My lttle Alaska did well to tow this disstressed vessel back to Dock. Me n the crew plus our sarnies got wet of course but still made it home safe;)

  • All it takes is one rogue wave and it's tits up. This sea looked like it had the potential to offer up one of those bad asses. I've been in shit like that and all you can do is hope it doesn't keep getting worse; cause there's shit you can do about it. Great footage.

  • thats a sweet sea compared to the south atlantic and south indian ocean storms

  • I've passed from Cape Horn December 2007 with a Panamax vessel.Worst weather ever!

  • Dutch radio :)

  • Correct

    Evers in the morning :))

  • anyone for tennis ?

  • Just don't mention the Derbyshire.

  • Storms like this seldom put a large ship at serious risk. Storms are far too common and the ships are built to take it. In fact, you can hear the bridge crew laughing in the background. Life at sea -- what fun!

  • Question for the well informed. When a ship goes through that kind of stress and weather, does the captain automatically ask for an inspection of the vessel on reaching his port of discharge ?

  • Holy cow. Those are extremly large waves. Amazing!

  • Thanks

  • wow...Dumnezeu sa i aiba n paza
