Joe was in "C" Co., 501 PIR, 101st Airborne. When I return to the US later this month, I'll ask my mom if she knows exactly where Joe was killed. I recently discovered a book (Hell's Highway: Chronicle of the 101st Airborne in Holland. As I recall from the book, Joe and other US soldiers arrived during the darkness at an orchard...after daylight our guys find that they have been surrounded by the Germans...a US officer announced "every man for himself..." Joe was killed in the orchard.

My mom's first husband (Joe Alberico) married her 2 weeks before D-Day. Joe then shipped out to Europe. She never saw him again as he was killed here in Holland on October 4, 1944. Three years later, my mom married my dad.

i only found out yesterday that his high school buddie that he joined easy with was killed in Normandy on June 8th

Everett Gray. Do you know where Everett died? what village/town?

Hi, I don,t know where he was killed. In 2006 I was in Keenesburg to visit the church and the homestead of William Dukeman we also tried to fiend somebody of the Gray family. We had no succes. Where are you come from?

oh im from england, but ive always had an interest in WW2, paticually the 101st airborne.
