This is a lovely piece made sweeter by the fact that he is singing with his wife Ekaterina. Beautiful voices. I just saw Charles on Saturday in La Traviata. Trust me in four years he has matured greatly and that scooping you hear or note stepping was not present. Verdi is a demanding opera but more so for the Soprano however his vocals blew me away. His sensitivity to the role was moving. He did not just sing he felt Alfredo completely.

I absolutely agree. I can't believe I had not heard of this tenor before today. The soprano is also fantastic. (I had seen her terrific performance in an Idomeneo DVD.)

Both produce an absolutely gorgeous sound. Bel Canto for real.
