One day Columbia records will release all her non released songs from the valults.I have so many singles that were never put on albums,no matter what barbra sings there her own as if they were written just for her ,no one in this life or any other life will bring to the table what barbra does,were blessed to have her in out life time.Love ya Babs,but you already know that!Your boy Spencer!!!
I have been listening to barbra for 40 years and I can tell you this is definately an un polished vocal run through and far from what the finished product would have been. It sounds to me like the arrangement was still not decided as well. this was probably one of many run through takes on this song.
No wonder it was left at the cutting room floor. For all of its meaningful lyrics, the melody is flat-out insipid. But it's still great to hear Streisand's wonderful voice.

It's a great 'mood" song, like to listen to as background music .
Barbra's vocal is very good. There may be a master tape or
stereo recording where the orchestra could be heard better.
If I'm not mistaken, it was recorded for THE BROADWAY ALBUM.
