A few years back I helped my mom and her husband with a garage sale, and he had a box donated by a friend who worked in a plastic factory-when we opened it, it was full of these special Mumm-Ra figures you had to mail away for. Outside of how surprising that was, my favorite part was listening to mom trying to explain Mumm-Ra to her husband.

1 Mumm-Ra's voice is now crap

2 The dialog is more like dawsons creek than Thundercats

3 The animation and drawings are not suited at all. (the older ones had a more (jap) anime flow to them.

I figured the new Mumm Ra voice wouldn't be like the original. Just like how to this day no one can do Starscream or Cobra Commander like Chris Latta, no one can ever duplicate the original Mumm Ra. It will take some getting used to but I'm sure he will be fine. I just want to see if they'll duplicate the transformation sequence like they duplicated the sight beyond sight and Lion-O making the sword grow.

And I'm reminded why Mumm-Ra was one of the greatest villains in cartoon history. The mantra, the transformation and most importantly, the badass laughter. Sure, he lost to the ThunderCats, but only due to plot-devices(The Sword of Omens or his reflection) or the Ancient Spirits of Evil being dicks(seriously, they used to take away his power-ups just because they were afraid he'd rebel and surpass them in power; a frickin jip!). I really can't wait for the premiere of the new series.
