Thanks for your work on this. So many reviewers just talk but you get right "into it."

I'm sold for several reasons besides the water proof feature. There are times when a set focus cam is desirable.

Should be able to get 3 hours at 1080p resolution on a 16GB. You'll need more than one battery if you need 3 hours all at once.

@ezkeyboardkid58 You can use anything up to 32GB. Best to use a Class 4 (4MB/sec minimum) or higher.

what hd mode are you using on it....and what software do you use to upload your videos

@bulldoguy1 This video was shot in 1080p. I edit with Final Cut Studio. I use both Final Cut and MPEG Streamclip to export to H.264 quicktime files for upload.  MPEG Streamclip is faster to encode, so I use that mostly.

Question: I'm trying to transfer videos form my play sport onto my hp laptop, and onto windows movie maker. I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the camera. It's not working. The message I'm getting is "Import Video could not find a compatible digital video device. Verify that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on." Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated

@gardenhoser HDMI usually isn't used for capture.  Import using the USB cable.

I just bought one and look forward to using it along with my insignia nsdv720p. The battery lasting an hour is not good however I use more than one camera so the extra battery power is there.

@cplocks11 the water gets covers the mic. It goes away after a while or if you shake it out. It's not really a flaw in the camera, think of how your hearing changes when you get water in your ear.

What file format does it record in, .mov?

@Senimsaj I export as an H264 MOV file. The PlaySport actually records in this format as well, so if you're not editing - don't convert it to anything else. What are you using to to edit/convert?

@wutang4life36 Very similar video quality. I don't really see much difference at all. I was talking to a guy who works for Kodak and he said that he didn't know how they were going to sell through the Zi8 with the Play Sport out now.
