What a beautiful film - real classic from the 80s. I enjoyed Flight of the Navigator more than E.T. Joey Cramer showed brilliant acting. I loved character Max and his sense of humour. It was great to see amazing and so talented Veronica Cartwright.

the paradox would be nullified by the technology. max returned to the same spacetime he departed from. it was as if he hadnt even physically interacted with david. the memories appeared instantly upon the intention of interaction. its the collapse of the wave function. the aliens intended david to be altered with no memory of his abduction experience. max intended to interact with the future grown version of david after the data had time to unzip and david time to evolve.

Exactly , there's really no reason to remake this classic film instead of doing a Neverending Story 2 type sequel. It's just another reason for theme to milk the cow and stain a classic movie.

I think there is plenty of ways too be creative and imaginative to work in a great sequel. Rather than starting again. Highlander is one thing , they paintined themselves into a pretty small , air tight pinch in the first one. But things like Flight of the Nav. and Last Starfigther are totally different. It just seems like Hollywood is getting lazy when it comes to anything else other than a remake.

I really hope that they'll show Phaelon this time, and they'll have more special effects than just an environmentally mapped spaceship.

I also hope that they'll make a sequel, since this movie has a hook for one that has never been used (and making a sequel of THIS movie now wouldn't work, because you'd need the same characters with the same ages for both movies).

Yeah, it does have a hook for a sequel. Think about it: David is abducted and gets back to Earth 8 years later without aging a day. Then, at the end of the movie, he is brought back to his time. But now there are TWO Davids around! One lives his life and grows up normally, the other one is "in analysis mode on Phaelon". So, eight years later, the younger David is brought back to Earth, but this time he might meet his older self and trigger a paradox!
