@schneke1 Of course they aren't, we agree. He didn't offer money or a trade to her father. It is 100% honor driven. He honored the family covenant that already existed by asking the father before he even sought to ask the daughter to enter a new covenant with him. Most societies of today no longer have any understanding of honor, or covenant for that matter.
