  • @souljajoeandtheowl she is not the instructor the G1 pilot or above is sitting in the left hand seat, the badge she is wearing shows she has passed her AGT (advanced glider training) and in accordance with the statement issued from CGS no cadets or instructors are to sit on any part of the vigilant motor glider wing as this can cause damage, she doesn't even look where she sits she just jumps on, and by CGS/ACO gliding rules the cadet should have fire retardant gloves on while flying... GASH!

  • haha, i've flown that exact plane, 186, whilst doing GS there at Halton!

  • Its not a glider... :P

  • @RampantRedBull its a vigilant :P lol, going in one next saturday with cadets hopefully!!

  • @1Filmproducer Yeah, its a vigilant but its more of an underpowered plane than a glider ;)

    Where are you flying from?

  • @RampantRedBull I think around harlo, not sure

  • @1Filmproducer Ahh, have fun :D

I'm a Flight Staff Cadet at a Vigilant sqn :)

  • @RampantRedBull will do, first time just got first class cadet last week and got 3822 about 2 motnhs ago lol

  • @1Filmproducer ahh, i've only been a cadet for a year and a month. Done plenty of stuff though :D

  • @RampantRedBull lol, yeah ive been in 10 months its just weve only just got our book so its taking awhile. hopefully ill get to do more things this year

  • @RampantRedBulL Thank god there is someone out there that also agrees this is not a glider but more of a hi brid, Its the same argument stating that a microlight is a real aircraft because it has a lawnmower engine witha hang glider frame / I don't think so .... and so the argument debate continues , is this powered aircraft with fule a glider or a hi-brid with the capabilty to truly glide .. LOL

  • All done with signaling lamps and walky talkies , No in cockpit comms....

Take up slack, All out , All out, run like f*** does the wing tip cadet !! as the winch tugs the glider rapidly along the grass strip, yoy are now vertical and awaiting for the max height like a rocket launch. You then feel the cable tugging you down, then all noise stops as you release the cable that has launched you , Now your gliding..:)

fond memories of gliding ATC West Maling Kent ...

  • Its a Powered Glider. It can Glide, Ive done it before.

  • Everyone. It's a powered glider. Hence "vigilant glider", also, once in flight, they turn the engine down to the lowest setting possible, so it flies like a glider (Y)

  • @chiwawatang Sorry but I still disagree, It has an engine therfore it has powered flight, Would you consider a Cessna a glider if you switched off the engine? of course it would glide , like a brick but it would classed as powered flight & not a glider.

this machine is a hibrid, it can do both , perhaps another class of aircraft??

  • @mosquito1958 Hm, you have a point, but most cadet crafts are able to glide in case of engine failure (again, another example, the GROB tutor, which I have been passenger to when they turned off the engine for landing), however, this plane's main purpose is to glide... And actually, the GROB glides pretty well (the only turbulance was due to my horrific piloting). But as it's main purpose is to glide, I'd classify it as a glider :)

  • @chiwawatang You are definately a cadet! Really need to learn some stuff mate.

  • @chiwawatang the grob tutor falls like a brick when the engine is off , the vigilan grob 109 B has a glide ratio of something like 1:28 when doing 55-60 knots ill check my frc's , its a motor glider.. there for i agree its a glider ;)

  • No I will disagree, I have flown the Cadet kirby as a Cdt Sgt with 336 Hammersmith Sqd in the mid 1970's and passed my ceertificate to fly and trust me Thats an aeroplane with fuel and an engine, yes it is able to glide without power but technicley NOT a glider.

A real glider has no power unless its winch launched or towed into flight or perhaps pushed off a high cliff face ect.

Just out of interest can a cadet obtain their gliding wings from this hybrid machine ???

  • @mosquito1958

The RAF, the CAA, the BGA and the FAI disagree with you.

  • Interesting but where's the glider, suggest you 'RE TITLE ' this video please.

  • @mosquito1958 This is a glider sir. just a powered glider

  • sleeves rolled up, bracelet on, hair let down, cadets with no gloves on, sitting on the wings.. read your tgos not aloudd! damages the wing cfs or cgs wont be happy.. people walking by a taxing aircraft.. gashh!!

  • @phunkyphantom619 Agreed! Should send this to Mr Webber!

  • @phunkyphantom619 that was the instructor and she was sat on the safe walkway on the wing which is acceptable and she wasn't flying so she could war jewellery e.t.c.

  • its a motor glider

  • thats not a glider. its got an engine.

  • lol watch out for that treeeeee 3:38

  • im in 1475 atc

  • im going gliding on saturday, cant wait :DDD

  • 1000th view

  • I'm gliding tomorrow for the first time. Really excited :)

  • that glider is a pleasure to fly, and so stable the instructor i had just let go of the controlles mid flight and the aircraft just stayed still.

  • Hasn`t the female cadet, I presume, heard of hair clips whilst on duty.

  • @biggles20 No hair clips whilst flying. admittedly she should have wore her hair in a bun but not to wear hair clips.

  • Grob 109B, i did my flying course with ATc/RAf
