I watched every movie of mickey. And i can say that this is one of his best. I'm so glad that he finally took part in something real after rumble fish. Way to go man!

@vanderbiltst It wasn't about wrestling. It was about a wrestler trying to get redemption and to get back the success he once had. The essence of wrestling wasn't needed to tell this story. The amount of wrestling this movie had was enough to tell the story to the audience.

@twfchamp02 Point well taken but, not well received. Why bother then calling it "The Wrestler?" The message of redemption is an old one. Just saw the movie "Get Low" and it basically has the same message. This message/theme is not a new one. Why then choose wrestling? My point is that if you choose wrestling or baseball or whatever then a more in depth approach could have been used.

My theory is that Mickey does not act - he just turns up, mumbles something and they bash him about in the ring and record it all - that is what it seems like. The dvda I got out was so quiet - I had it on full blast and even with the french subtitles could only just make out what was going on

I just saw the movie...Cried through different parts. Just sad how the reality of what does a person do when all they know is one thing?And don't feel the support outside of that place they know. People can relate to that. His moments just doing things were amazing. He is a really profound artist.

Saw the movie yesterday and I cant believe what a great part Mickey Rourke played. I actually couldnt talk when I first came out because I thought I would cry, cant really explain why have never had a film make me feel like it before . Really was quite brilliant yet in some way a bit disturbing and sad. Cant wait to see him in his next film.

Dosent make me respect it any more than i did...Broke used to wrestle pro and he Only did WWE cus of the money and cus of his size...and he got beat by Frank mir but still got a shot at the title...so WWE fans would get a buzz from it and start waching UFC...Broke is big,strong..and new fact that ppl dont know much about him apart from his size makes him hard to train against...once ppl figure him out or simple someone bigger comes he will be screwed over...but whatever

I'm a Rourke fan from way back and am so happy to see him in a major film. I've always felt he was an amazing talent. Call him crazy for going into boxing full time, but the man has balls and walks the walk. Big props to Micky, big props to Pro Wrestlers and big props to the Director for hiring Micky for this film, it will kill at the box office.
