It's actually incredibly fun.

I had a pirated PC version, but it was really fucked up. The marshmallow minions had around 5 times as much health and stay puft was literally invincible. So, I'm buying a legit copy.

I suggest you rent the Xbox 360 version (if you have a 360). to try it out.

From what I heard there will be a slime component on the pack to slime stuff like in the second movie. I also think it's cool to have to use the PKE and googles to track the ghost. I'm also guessing there will be ghosts you just have to shot like in a first shooter game. Don't worry. It'll be good. =)
