Seems like Kirby is very popular in clay stop motions. :D Maybe it's because Kirby is pretty easy to make. (maybe not so easy, but easier than some other characters) Cool video anyway!
i just used some skin-color clay and smoothed it alot. for the eyes i used another clay that is more sticky. i used replacements for every time the mouth changed shape.
thanks, i like your work too. your animations are very cool, but is van aken as good as many people say it is? does it break or rip when bending a pivot point? or is it soft?
Van Aken's good, but nothing amazing. It has problems just like all clay. It and Sculpey III are my favorite though, and Sculpey III is smoother. Different clay is good for different things. Experiment with whatever you can get.
i live in norway, so if i'm gonna order like 3 kg of van aken, i have to pay like 100$... and the sculpey we have here are about 5 bucks for 60 grams... so i'll have to just go for one of them. i don't like clays that rip alot, so i think i'll go for van aken.
thanks mamshmam :D i spent almost 3 hours on 5 seconds of animation, so it's probably one of my best and smoothest puppets. and i experimented with pink clay from mixing white and dark-red, but i didn't have enough white :( but i'm going to order van aken soon :D:D:D

Wow that's a lot of money and time keep it up
jose99674 2 years ago
this awesome how much did it took you to make this?
jose99674 2 years ago
How much time it took me? or money?
I spent 3-4 hours making all the kirby puppets and animating. I spent about 1200$ all together on camera, lights, animating software and my desk.

I don't get Kirby, does he inhale his enemys or just swallow them?
HenryTheFothergill 2 years ago
he inhale them to steal some of their powers or specialties, and spits them out again.

Ah that's pretty cool I guess
he must have lungs of ROCK

honastly, just buy whatever you have near you, shipping clay is way too expensive.
