But even if the entire series' "solution" turned out to be complete BS, that first part- the part on religion, was pretty much spot on. capitalism is based in money, and money is not a resource, is a paper with a fictional value, but if you're lost in a desert with a million dollars in cash, but without water, food, people, a place to sleep, etc, that amount of money won't help you to survive
tvp is suggesting a resource based economy, to eliminate money and count only on the real resources

Capitalism is based on the exchange of resources with money being a medium of standardized exchange in order to solve the problem of barter wherein a coincidence of wants is necessary for an exchange and profit and loss cannot be calculated properly. Money doesn't have to be fiat currency and it wasn't always fiat currency. Read a little about the history of money. Money TODAY is indeed corrupted by government. Real money is based on a resource such as gold or silver.

@opethgarzaMD The Venus project is fundamentally impossible from a technological stand point. The robots cannot be made at present. If they could be, they would attract huge venture capital investments because the profits would be so huge. Creating so many goods that the supply far outweighs demand is so fundamentally non-economical. Plus in order for 0% growth economy to work and maintain standard of living population control is necessary.

To further contradict your point, there would be NO "huge venture capital investments" in this because it's not designed for profit. Geothermal energy alone could power our Earth pollution free for thousands of years. Without huge corporations monopolizing almost every sector of industry there would be plenty of goods to go around so population control would be unnecessary.

i don't know if TVP is possible, but it's a good place to start a project of a better way of living
and there are no investments in robots and stuff like that because they're spending millions in oil and war business, or in cheap phones or devices that become obsolete in 1 year

for a company is better to sell 10,000 cheap phones or computers for high prices, that will become obsolete in 1 year, or will be broken soon, instead of 1,000 high quality products
there's more profit in creating cheap stuff & selling it at high prices, than good quality at lower prices
and that mechanism of business is global, so there's not a big profit in creating hightech robots that can solve lots of troubles, cause u need big investments, & the profit isn't as productive

That which is profitable in money, is profitable because it creates more wealth which benefits people's wants based on their subjective values. It is impossible to calculate economically without a medium of exchange and profit and loss calculations. The world of super abundance is a world of total free market capitalism and real money as a medium of exchange (gold or silver).

The venus project does NOT alot for "unlimited access to resources" it calls for STRATEGIC RESOURCE ALLOCATION. And it aims for abundance for everyone. IT also shows how cyclical consumption in this anti-economy we live in is going to utterly destroy us. You cannot possibly tell me that the systems this planet employs both singularly and together is one that has human needs as it's prime interest.
