this is not pumpkins. I hate to say it, being a pumpkins fan since i was like 7 yrs old but, Billy has lost it. I can't sit around and listen to these songs and pretend they are the pumpkins no matter how hard I try. So i think my album collection ends at Zeitgeist. It's so sad.

@Brown86Town No i did not like Zeitgeist but i bought it thinking it was going to be good. The only good albums they had was SD, P.I, Gish Mellon Collie, and some and like to songs off of machina. This is not the pumpkins. I don't care that your living in a fantasy world trying to make excuses how this IS the pumpkins but i am straightforward. I cant even relax to this. I can relax to obscured but not this.

The only thing that I can't figure out is how Billy Corgan, being the great musician he is, didn't hear the brilliance in the violin that was used for the live Spirits in the Sky rendition of this? If he had gone that route, it would have made an already great song into a mini-masterpiece!

and who can tell what is the pumpkins sound? all their albums have different sound.. from Gish - Siamese Dream 90s rock, to Adore-Machina.. So far "Widow Wake My Mind" is my least favourite track from "Teargarden", but 'A Stitch in Time' and 'A Song for a Son' are the ones, that I liked from the first time.

@lemonscure but mostly they had the same members throughout their album which created a totally natural hard to find sound and everyone worked well together as one and it was awesome.

@lemonscure: For me the Pumpkin's sound is the 90's rock Gish and Siamese Dream. Siamese Dream in particular, there wasn't one bad song on that album. It was amazing. Absolutely mindblowing, from the riffs to the chorus to the insanely awesome solos. This isn't bad but it's far from Siamese Dream's awesomeness.

Another ok song, not great, I don't like the single song releases. I want to hear the album as a whole. I think the problem is the vocals are too up front. Old pumpkins has the vocals more recessed which suits the songs better for some reason.

Hmmm I know what you mean.. but I feel it's more that the vocals on these last few songs have just been less doctored than in the past. There's little or no reverb,echo, or subtle vocal effects of any kind. I hope Billy decides to embelish the vocals more for certain upcomming songs on this album. For certain songs I do like something about the more stripped down sound though.
