Well, if they didn't mock GT-R at the beginning, i think i'll believe in them. Thought Evo became Track Car Of The Year 2009. It doesn't mean it can be classed with super car. We can see it from the name itself "GT-R", it 's one of many classes for super car. So the producers of Evo, doesn't mean to make Evo into super car. In real life driving, I'm confident that the GTR has a better low down torque due to larger displacement. Does this EvoX FQ400 have a same turbo lag like the older EvoVIII FQ400?

Turbo lags can massively annoy drivers especially in slow traffic. Even a N/A 1.6L Fiat station wagon has beaten an Evo8 FQ400 when both are on their top gears, rolling start from (so to say) 35MPH or 60 KPH. In this kind of comparison, the GTR will make mince meat even on sixth gear.

Well we can but by looking at the specs more closely. I'm confident the GTR has better low down torque over the modded FQ400 EvoX. With a big turbo in EvoX I'm sure there's big turbo lag like the EvoVIII FQ400. I maybe wrong but if you want so much power on such a small engine, surely there's price to pay for that much power.

To make matters even worse, the FQ400 can stall very easily unless you're the man of that or if it has a dual clutch gearbox.

@godzillat6 yep without a turbo a base engine of Evo VIII (4g63) by data I have on my desk produced only 178Nm of Torque. Thats why turbo plays a huge role in evo. (off-topic note: EVOX FQ400 model is currently car with best torque per liter ratio in the world)

I am a fan of Mitsubishi and I am employed in Mitsubishi parts store :), and to me both cars are great, I just don't like them being compared.

This test is interesting but obviously a promotion for the FQ400. The FQ400 is a great car but having owned both cars (just the EVO not the FQ400) both cars with mild mods the GTR will destroy the EVO X. The EVO X will need some pretty serious mods + race gas just to keep up with the GTR bumping up its boost on pump gas. Now in my opinion the EVO X drives better and feels more connected with the road than the GTR (the GTR just drives 'smart' for whatever that is worth) but come on...

A Lotus Exige for instance, will pull higher G in corners than say, a Dodge Viper, even though the Lotus is a slower car in a straight line. G force is not the "ability to turn", but heavier objects tend to resist the cornering force (since the force will try to continue straight), and higher G is experienced by the driver. So lower the ability of car to corner, the higher the G :-)
