@Griffon868 t-80 have been updated to the t-80u. Though just look at tech. If what is said the type 10 armor not better but = to the type 90 and a boat load lighter. theirs a better gun but it range is still poor. Wile any Russian tank uses missiles system at a avg range 5km. No active defensive's yet besides smoke. Then i got the stats on the black eagle By fare a better tank then the rest of worlds and a export version to the t-95. Both of which canceled to see the m1a3,type 10, k2, Ajurn do.
@starknight97 first of all, type 10's armor is better than type 90. it's said that nowadys japan have a tech which enable to build armor equal to type 90 in the weight of 30%.
2nd, the active defence is not a good method. that have demerits, easy to be found, danger to friend. it's a method for the countries which dont have a tech that build a good passive armor. And anti tank missile is very expensive and can be prevented with sufficient smoke, so that cannot be a main arm of tanks.
@Griffon868 the type 10 12.4% lighter then the type 90 placing it armor maybe about 15% better. No one today can build good passive armor Vs new RPG today like the 29. The RPG29 ripped Right though CH2 front armor with a ERA block added even with out the block it's 10 to 5% better then the m1a2sep.Then the RPG29 is weaker then the RPG28 and less advanced as the RPG32. So for tanks to stay use active defensive's are must passive one more so as they is no friendly hurt.The type 10 armor weak vs HE
@Griffon868 As far as missiles they mostly a First attack idea. Then the Russians fire them out their of the barrel meaning switch back to KE/HE rounds from missiles is easy. Then lets say you do smoke early like that(a tanker with a 6th sense lol). Then you are forced to retreat if you go forward you drive out your smoke. That's if you even have a fine reflective smoke. Most western tanks don't have it. Just old fashion smoke grenades.
@Griffon868 No most western tank are falling behind the l44 cannon is a slow, low range gun. It just don't cut it. the L55 is high power/spd but still poor ranger. Western tanks are just now getting active defenses. Wile Easter tanks have had them a long time and are on their 3rd gen. Easter tanks have always been light nimble(t-90 flying tank) on the battle field like the type 10 is being the first western tank able to do that. If it wasn't for Western air power this be much more noticeable.

Any way, Type90 created against for T-80s.
That was designed in order to beat a lot of T-80 by 1.
Because Russian army had a lot of T-80s at that time.
Now, Type10 is taking the place of Type90.
Type10 beat T-90s easily as Type90 do T-80s.

さすがですね！話には聞いてたけど、走行中の射線軸がほとんどブレないのは見事です。
きっとどこぞの古臭い戦力しか持ってない将軍様の国はのどから手が出るほど欲しいだろうなぁ。でも日本では既に新型も開発されてるんだけどね♪
