The harmonics become much easier as the gain on the amp is increased. I can't even get a good one out of my Peavy amp but when I use my Crate, which has much more gain, they pop right out. Hope it helps.

i understand that maybe you are not using a chromatic tuner? still, even if you are you should be able to tune to A
A is not the same as G, A is the note above G (two semitones up). maybe you can tune the string to the song by listening to the song (the key of citizen erased is in A) and tuning it down until it reaches the tonic note?
you could also try tuning the top string to A by using a harmonic above the 12th fret to help the tuner hear the note better maybe sometimes works on bass guitar
Wow...just...wow. This was an amazing cover (well, it wasn't exactly a cover; rather, it was a very good facsimile of the actual track), though I thought parts of the solo could have used improvement - for the most part though, the improv was great. Keep it up man!

yeah, but how? i know to drop to D you need to go to the 7th fret and tune it compared to the A string. how does that compare with dropping A? Do you need to tune it by going to the 10th fret or summin?
well, to be accurate you should do it with a tuner, but failing that, it would be at the same pitch as the A string (2nd thickest) at the 12th fret, as it is one octave below

yeh, thickest string tuned to LOW A and then with the normal A string, play the thickest low A open and harmonic on 3rd fret, then later at between the 3rd and fifth (thats the lower harmonic sound in the second half.)

it is an A string, an octave below the normal A. so tune your E string down to an A or use a 7 string guitar.
you play that string open and the higher note is a natural harmonic above the second and third fret on that low A string.

the start is just playing harmonics on the thick string in rhythm... its a harmonic over the 3rd fret :)
string is tuned down to A... supposed to be played on a 7 string guitar but i dont have one.

was it ADAD? ah, i thought it was AEAD.. mighta been though, i never look at the tab so i just work it out how im tuned at the time. it was a pain having only 6 strings, i had to tune up from A to E in about 1 bar just before the solo, haha

nono you arent missing anything, in my opinion, the clean part is the hardest part of the song... regarding your level, you could play them easily right ? does ur clean sound sucks ? : o

nah, i think that when i recorded it i just felt like improvising over that part with what i had, since i'd forgotten to dial in a patch for cleans..
nah my clean tone is good :)

The ending killed me (or at least ripped out my... hmmm... my brain?). It'll be a long time before I'll be able to play like this. High school sucks and is getting in the way. Well... enough about me! Good job and have a good time being a killer guitarist!
