If all near death experiences are similar, doesn't that point away from it being a spiritual event and rather it being a simple, natural, physiological effect of the brain shutting down?
@cameronmoj i am going on a pilgrimage to figure some answers. how can one have sight, hearing and awareness without the physical? i am not saying there is no afterlife but you can't expect people to be 100% sure without this question being answered.
@ultradumbass It is definitely something you should find out for yourself. In the Bible it is said that "In the beginning was the word. And the word was with God and the word was God." The word that is spoken of is the shabd or inner sound. Supreme Master Ching Hai's method of meditation is called the Quan Yin method. It is the method of inner light and inner sound.
@ukgirl22inlove :: You are way behind on your research. NDEs have proven not to be caused by oxygen lack, drugs, hallucinations etc. Out of body experiences during an NDE cannot be explained away.
@trees622 ::: The phrase was 'explained away', in other words, made an excuse for. The OBE is proof of the reality of the NDE, because it reports reality of the surrounding events at the time they happened.
@Batamon1997 An atheist is one without religion, despite the amount of people who are trying to define it as a rejection of god. At least under my definition, would you be an atheist?
Something I don't get - why does such a small percentage have an "NDE?" The 1982 poll cited by Dr. Long stated only 5%. So that means 95% either experienced nothing, or don't remember anything. If there is supposed to be an afterlife, wouldn't that number be 100 percent? Not trying to troll, just trying to genuinely understand and learn more.
@MrRoboto81 ::: It is possible that those who can have the NDE is similar to the % of people who are psychic. A few people are just born that way. Is there an afterlife? Have no doubt about it. It is real. If you want to find out what it is like, free download. "Life in the World Unseen"
@chromakey84 I don't believe that's true. Science is verifiable and does not operate on faith. If you throw a penny across the room, faith or not, that thing is going get pulled down by gravity.
@Seedofwinter That is not entirely true, Listen to Professor Hawkins talk about M theory. There is indeed a level of faith in science. There has to be, It is what leads to answers and proof, whenever you have a hypothesis you have a level of faith.
@chromakey84 No, it's not. faith is a belief in something in spite of a lack of evidence and the suspension of critical thought. I don't think you understand what faith is.
Science is evidence, proof, and fact-based. There's no "faith" in science. Science, if anything, is the anti-faith.
@14sJakeB190 There are numerous cases matching that criterion. For example, look up the videos on Pam Reynolds' and Al Sullivan's near death experiences; note that both of them, in addition to being under general anesthesia and/or clinically dead, were covered in sheets with their eyes taped shut at the time they made their observations.
There are other cases, such as a near-death experiencer who, while his body lay dead, saw his friend go outside behind a car and vomit.
I have had these experiences. 3 seperate time. in 1983, 2009, 2010. my eyes were closed, yet I saw..my inner feelings were in tact. I felt peacefulness and loving visions around me. the very bright light in the back, and a more duller light surounding the area. the beings I think were energy matter,( like the stuff in an etch a sketch.but like whispy body shaped it was so weird, and it was the same each time. I never was afraid.. and yes this Dr is right about everything..I changed career, etc,
Its my belief that all of this is true...Unfortunately ,Religion does not teach enough of the afterlife....but that is done for the reason that people will not be full of fear ....so the church can CONTROL them.. LOVE LIGHT and happiness.......RABBIT

@SupremeMasterTV Why don't you just prove this one simple thing.
Give a case that involves someone describing an object in another room or some other area where they couldn't have physically saw the object.
