Is there an address or E-Mail I can go to , to find a copy of the tool making book you told me about Aaron Moore who wrote a book on making wooden woodworking tools?
I almost came... love those old tools!!!! the (sorry for the French, I am bilingual but sometime I miss English words) villebrequins are so nice. I am looking for a (french again) chignole which is also to drill holes but smaller. hard to find nowadays but so useful ... and all those molding things ... arrglglglglhhh !!!
Dont put your planes on the table with the knife faceing towards the table, then it wont be sharp. But some nice old tools you have. It is cool to see how the tools looked back then compared to what we have to day.
Do you have any information on how to make homemade woodworking hand tools?? Do you have a video to guide someone thru the process of making these tools at home? It looks simple but the details are important.
It just occurred to me that going by the contents of the tool chest, which is as far as I know a complete set of cabinetmaking tools from around 1900, Mr Wake (whose initials are on everything in it) would have done the same
Question - What do you like to use when sharpening centre bits? I normally use a small flat file, but if they just need a light touchup,I have good luck with a slipstone.

Thanks for your comments I don't often use centre bits but would use the flat file and
/or slipstone for sharpening as you suggest
