There was the night Toddy was sitting on a big white horse, live in the studio, with Miss Jamaica 52 (inch tits -- a stripper) sitting in front of him and Derek Nimmo, English comic actor behind him. He introduces his new client "Capt Lovable from MFC Caravans, looks like the young Henry Bolte! -- come on board captain!" The captain hurtles up on to the horse and hurtles right over its rump onto the floor.
Hal Todd was, for a while, a great avant garde TV innovator. For a long time Toddy "presented" a late night "epic theatre" movie where the ad breaks totalled at least three times the length of the film. And the ads were live and populated by his clients, visiting celebs and anyone else he could drag in.
I myself saw him and the big gorilla from Yashica Cameras break three ribs of "Denis Downunder", the weedy dude who owned a basement bargain clothing store live on camera.
I dont think they where crooks, just fashion victims of the day

Great to see Toddy. At his finest, he was an avant garde TV genius (and spruiker). This is not his finest here, but good to see him anyway.

These people don't look like jewellery dealers. They look more like hired muscle.

I wonder how many customers have had their legs broken by these guys when payments were a bit late?
