Best tikka masala i've ever tasted. Everyone has their own way of making things, its what suits your mouth, so for me it was great. Coconut milk, great touch.

It looks very authentic and would love to try it. Sometimes in the UK, TM is served up bright pink and just doesn't look right and the taste can be too sweet. It should be drier on the tongue with a lemony bite. But thats just my opinion. Yours has a much better colour than some UK TM's. Will give it a go and see what it tastes like too! Thanks.

I've had the UK resturant version many times, and your right you can't beat it, I do a couple of versions of chicken tikka masala, which we love, but am always looking for other versions for variety if you have it, would love to try it.
I have had the UK version and it is so liquidy and has like a weird taste to it, no one can make it better then here in cali its more rich and creamy and has the perfect masala taste!! I would only take your chicken and put it in there because your chicken is more sour as well and better but the masala NO ONE could beat cali's. Sorry folks brittains isnt that great at all...
I know, it's more of a canadian chicken tikka masala, they don't have a sweet version of it here like they have in the UK, to make that I just substitute the chilies for 1/2 cup of coconut milk.
Thank you for this amazing recipe; it is fantastic!! :)
My wife's favorite Chicken Tikka Masala is from Swagat in Portland, Oregon. We just made this and it tastes JUST LIKE Swagat's!
We added 1/2 cup chopped Cilantro to the marinade and baked it with the chicken and added 1 Tbsp fresh ginger to the marinade and the sauce and it is PERFECT!
I actually tried this recipe, and although the chicken ALONE was AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!! I LOVE THE FLAVOR IT GAVE WOOW!! the masala part was not so great just to much tomato sauce and paste all i tasted was literally tomato's not the actual way to make tikka chicken masala so im trying a new one i found along with your chicken of course, cant say no the this type of flavored chicken.
I make this alot. I typically buy a jar of the sauce and add veggies, chick peas and chicken, I actually lived off this dish nearly 3 x a day for 7 months straight.
I thank you for your recipe, I may try it out one day soon!
@dakaraabbccdd i dont recommend using tomato soup but if you want a similar taste using regular fresh or canned tomatoes, just add baking soda to your recipe just before serving then stir until the mix stops bubbling. swear to god it works. it neutralizes the acid taste and will make the recipe very smooth. don't overdo the baking soda or it will taste like soap.
hi miss T, thanks for that vid - i enjoyed it - im also a chef - learnt it whilst studying- however u look much hooter than the dish - wud lov 2 get 2 know u - can we?
i think after adding the tomatoes saute and let the oil release then add the chicken saute a bit and finalize the dish with cream. the tomato must have a raw taste the way it is shown in this video. oil must be released in this dish!
This isn't typically Indian cooking, it's an eastern dish with a western twist, all the recipes have been adapted to make things easier and quicker for people who may not know how to cook or are looking for new recipes. Regarding the chicken it had been marinated and then cooked in the oven.
actually its not unusual especially now a days, its either ghee or it actually is olive/veggie oil. depending if they are vegetarians or not. And if you cant cook your chicken after its marinated, on the bbq grill, a lot of people just use a plug in grill or even the oven, i prefer the oven because i know it will cook the chicken all around more better then just putting it on a plug in grill. But you dont marinate chicken in the oven. thats not what she did.
yes they're are many dif variations, some have onions some don't and some have a few other spices/ ingredients. Don't hate on how it looks, cuz after she added the cream it looks like it should.
MMMM... this looks so good! does marinating the chicken make a difference?? I am making this right now, but from a different recipe, similar ingredients, but it came out kinda bland, maybe i should try your recipe next, what kind of cream did you say you use?
I don't always marinate, you can use it straight away if you want. Regarding cream, you can use 18% cream, in fact the other day I used half and half, and there didn't seem to be any difference :)
Hi, Before judging it on looks try it, then make a decision, if you don't like it fair enough. Regarding combination of ingredients, many dishes have strange combinations but come out great. Everyone who has ever tried it has always loved it.
Perfect! I'm a half-indian youngster living away from home for the first time and am dying for the cuisine my grandma makes. This is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I read through the comments and naturally there are variations for the recipe--can you suggest how exactly I can tweak the recipe to make it slightly sweet? Thanks again.
To sweeten up this dish, just add half cup of coconut milk into the sauce, about the same time as adding the cream, and don't add the green chilies. Hope that helps, let me know if it comes out how you hoped.
wow! thats almost the same way i make it. I'm gonna try it your way next time. I'm sure its very delicious. And you are very beautiful btw. hehe . just thought i'd add! great video, keep them coming!
I hope you are still checking this. I have a question. I know that in the video you said that this dish takes about 40 minutes. Approximately how long should I cook the chicken? I know I can keep checking it, but I would like an idea of how long before I should be watching it closely.
In total the chicken usually takes about 35 to 40 minutes, I have it cooking in parallel with making the masla, once the masala is done, I usually find the chicken is cooked too..you only need to check once or twice to make sure it doesn't burn...hope that helps
Hi, I've just made this looks & tastes real nice, I did liquidise the sauce, so no onion bits. Chicken is still marinating. People don't seem to understand that there are many twists on the same theme.. reduce the Chilli you like, add sugar i you like it sweet. I'm just going to try it as you made it first. Thanks
there are many ways to make chicken tikka masala, this is just one way which we make at home. Once cooked, you don't even see the onions. In the UK this dish is sweet, but in Canada it is not.
From what I have seen, everyone makes chicken tikka masala differently, I have never used sugar or butter, but I have seen coconut milk used to sweeten it if desired.
canned tomatoes work just as well as fresh tomatoes, the point of these recipes are to make things quick and easy, people who can already cook, usually use fresh ingredients, its a personal choice.
everyone i know now uses olive oil - for health.

there isnt a real one oO;
but if there WAS a real one, per say.
lol. spicyness is integral to any indian dish, especially a curry house.
some indians prefer not spicy, so they dont add chili powder.
some like it spicy, so they add it.
its what i love about indian cooking. you can vary stuff at a whim and still have it tasting fantastic.
