  • chlorines not bad for him?

  • Had one that big back in Fla. It used to eat 1/2 chicken - swallowed the whole thing. Mine wasn't tame and got loose in the neighborhood....police were scared of it. I had to get rid of it as it was too much lizard for the neighbors.

  • Holy shit!!! this guy is awesome!!! he looks like vin diesel wich is awesome has a water monitor wich is awesome and to top it all off hes wearing a crow T shirt DAMN AWESOME OVERLOAD

  • I was looking into getting one of these. Are they as gentle as say an Iguana?

  • what's his/her name? I have the same kind of lizard a Salvator Water Monitor Lizard. He's only 1ft long so far but he'll get big.

  • wow thats an amazing animal(: i have been looking into them and i was wondering where you can get them?

  • That is so cool. Beautiful animal...congrats :)

  • is the chlorinated water good for him?or is it just regular water?awesome pet btw

  • he is cute, reminds me or mr.kipling on the show jessie

  • Comment removed

  • thats pretty cool how he is easly big enough to kill you but he is so tame and gentile around you haha

  • thats pretty bad ass. i just wouldnt want to spend the thousands of dollars for a tatarium for something that big lol..

  • Does the chlorine affect them?

  • they eat birds, fishes, and puppies!

  • wont the chlorine interfere with his skin, btw looks really cool nice video :)

  • Great job on keeping him in shape! I've seen way to many overweight water monitors.

  • You, sir, own a very happy reptile.

  • nice video...and good choice in shirt :)

  • were you pulling on his collar? :O

  • I want him now! :)

  • So graceful :P

  • isnt chlorine bad for them?

  • @Jbonetml77

    Absolutely.

  • is that vin diesel

  • do they make harnesses specifically for large lizards, or can you just use a regular harness for a medium sized dog?

  • these things are fucking awesome!

  • i thought vin diesel hated lizards.........

  • Reptile [slips into the pool and comes out] : "You'll need exactly 1.5 kilos of sodium bicarbonate for optimal pH."

    Human: "WTF?"

Reptile: "Why do you act so surprised? I'm a WATER MONITOR, you fool!"

  • @PASCHDigiMedia thats fucking awsome dude.

  • isn't chlorine in the pool bad for him?

  • do you think they feel love ans such im not shure ?? cuase u guys seem to love her but my question is does she love you back ??????

  • He is looking in the hole for food. natural instinct

  • Is it ok for him to be in a chlorine pool?

  • It's young Riddick and his pet.

  • It's good to know that pool water doesn't harm it.^^

  • wow! check out my channel right now if you wanna see my new baby leopard gecko eating some meal/wax worms! :)!

  • He's like a puppy!

  • Won't the chlorine from the pool hurt it?

  • YOU DONT TAKE LIZARDS FOR WALKS, U TAKE THEM FOR SWIMS Dx

  • After 9 years in the reptile trade, I have heard of NO ONE who has gotten salmonella from their reptile. If you just wash your hands before and after handling, you really will be fine. They're not living piles of bio-hazardous sludge. Plus, @Imhighandhungry, I'm getting the impression that you need to do A LOT more research before acquiring a monitor....

  • The dude looks like Vin Diesel :P

  • i hope thats not chlorinated water

  • aw that's adorable and I'm amazed at how is so tame! a monitor lizard would be such a cool pet if you had the time and space for one x

  • the only reason i wouldnt get a monitor lizard is you have to wash your hands after or somtimes even before you handle it, and it needs as much atention as a dog lol seems like alot of hand washing to me....or ul get saminela or somthing else........well thats too bad :(

  • @Imhighandhungry it is VERY unlikely to get salmonella from reptiles. you don't even really need to be that precocious about it. it is very rare for your reptile to carry the disease.

  • Cats are for pussies.

    Dogs are for men.

Monitor lizards are for Chuck Norris'

  • @yourfreakyneighbourh What are snakes and alligators for?

  • @tombob1234567 Chuck Norris's Dad.

  • Cats are for pussies.

  • @pmfernandez67 Is he still alive today? And doesn't that chlorinated pool water irritate their skin?

  • @pmfernandez67 How did you get it to be so tame? I heard that most monitors are prone to biting.

  • vin deisle?

  • cool pet you got there vinnie d. I originally thought monitors were dangerous and aggresive, apparently they are kind creatures

  • This monitor has really got one nice pet.

  • Vin Diesel ?!

  • Nice, but is there no chlorine in your pool?

  • @Ab1djan If chlorine was a serious threat to living things then we wouldn't use it as a cleaner in the water we swim in.

  • @falubii

Actually it is a threat to many living things; plants and single celled creatures (thats what its supposed to kill anyway) but also amphibians and, to an extent, reptiles. However, the damage done depends on the concentration.

  • he looks like he is loving it haha

    the lead is cute

  • I totally see vin diesel

  • @LetsGoBucs91 omg thats what i wanted to say :O how awkword

  • @LetsGoBucs91 Omg i found my Dad !!!!!!!

  • where the hell do u keep that?? O.o

  • I want a water monitor but my mom says its dangerous

  • @alondramapeal Listen to your mother, if you still need her permission than you're probably not ready.

  • @alondramapeal i knew someone with a 4 foot (aka half the size of this one) monitor and it was dangerous. many of them actually are and do you know how much food and space it takes to keep one of them? A LOT. its not like having a dog or a cat at all.

  • just asking doesn't the chlorine hurt him

  • dude that s vin diesel

  • only americans

  • @arniebarb123

    how is that even relevant?

  • Do you purposely not chlorinate your pool for your reptile? That's so nice of you! I do it for my ferrets :P

  • If only every reptile pet could have awesome owners like these two.

  • how it cost

  • I used to sell reptiles in a shop but the problem is most wont look after them well. Its lovely to see people loving them so much, well done great vid

  • this is pretty sick.

  • Is that pool chlorinated? Not sure that's the safest thing for your pet :P

  • pimp shirt

  • i bet when he saw that little skimmer door he was like, "freeeedoommmm.....FUCK!"

  • u really love your giant beast

    how old is he

  • beautiful

  • that vin diesel

  • @tattoodgrim1 i thinked the same :DD

  • wat is that

  • than thats fucking beast

  • It's so cute how he takes a short break from swimming to hang out with you!

  • Wow Huge beast ! Helooo lizard u want meet my crocodile ? xD

  • reptile germs in the pool, gross

  • @riceboi1983 really germs in a pool there are germs every where. that lizard might be saying eww human germs you know what your a fucking faget

  • @MultiPuppy2000 shut your face up you dumb phaggot as bitch i'll stab your face

  • @riceboi1983 oh geez please calm down!

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.so cute!

  • maybe chlorine doesnt bother larger tougher animals like humans and big dogs, is that why he can stand it? my neighbor has a saltwater pool with no chemicals and im wondering whats in this pool?

  • The pool water doesn't bother it at all?

  • Awesome the way he trusts you. Large lizzards are very cool pets, even better when they are trusting and easy to handle. I miss my 2 iguanas. :(

  • he looks like a dinosaur swimmin in that water lol

  • Vin diesel. :D

  • @pmfernandez67 Do they really realise you're their owner and treat you with some sort of love? Could you compare your relationship with it as with a cat or as with a mouse or something?

  • @OgreWorld yes the know how to give affection when they want too. my black throat used to love curling up on me in my recliner. if he liked you he would come check you out but if he didnt like you he would run and hide.

    rip rex

  • Nice monitor man. Obviously very friendly. They make great pets if you have a nice one.

  • lol! I was looking for a monitor in water or pool whatever. But since I came here I'm gonna say i like the water monitor!

  • it's that a varano?

  • were do u keep him

  • does he/she ever bit you?

  • is that clorine water ?cause i have one nile monitor and i would love to let him swim in our pool.

    nice vid liked

    :)

  • You look like Vin Diesel

  • dude nice lizard

  • Their reaction to clorine is just the same ad we would

  • hey where did u get yours i would like to know

  • beautiful

  • very nice now i want one.

  • most familys own dogs..

  • Some people walk their dogs.

    Some pet their cats.

    Others fly their birds.

It takes a badass to swim their lizard. XD

  • @Minatoleekrinaze lizard? ...croc or alligator!

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video...

Or an idiot...and I'm a sure the chlorine is really good for it...

  • @Minatoleekrinaze your comment. so funny. so good.

  • เหี้ย

  • i would never let that swim with me or lay on my lap! ahaha

  • i have no clue on how these are kept or anything about them accept that they seem fucking WICKED, and i want one no doubt.

all i know is they like to eat mice when there younger and they have to be alive if i remember right, other then this .. i know nothing

can someone explain a few things

do they attack humans and can they even be in chlorine filled water ? etc

  • @Neves416 monitors shouldn't eat mice.

  • @Jukeboxheroswsprod well i dont know as i said before, i just seen some monitors eating mice

i dont know the difference really so i asked about it.

  • @Jukeboxheroswsprod

mice are an excellent food for baby monitors of larger species, such as water, argus and nile monitors.

for an adult, they're obviously too small. you'd have to feed him dozens.

  • very nice animal

  • Experienced keepers have kept water monitors for years and had no problem with a little exposure to pool water, it's not like they live in the pool, do you?? $10 says none of you have any direct experience to compare against, but people sure love to flap their gums on youtube.

  • like so many other comments, i hope that pool doesnt have chlorine because the chlorine reacts with the scales very harshly and it makes them very flimsy and weak plus its just not good for the lizard in general.

  • wat do u feed tht

  • baby crock

  • the chlorine is not harmful to the animal?

  • you and him are sooo cute!!!! it doesn't bite ppl??

  • How cool is that? Looks like he can haul ass in the water.

  • beautiful lizard

  • เหี้ย

  • i took our savannah monitor in the pool and he loved to dive

  • Dude, a leash? It's not like he's crossing the pacific ocean!

  • @xXDeadoraliveXx Think about it, they can be unpredictable. The leash would give more controller and prevent it from running away, possible from eating the neighbor's cats?

  • @xXDeadoraliveXx Uhhhh its not because he's in the water LOL its because he's outside. That monitor could be gone in the blink of an eye. Its just for safety so that 7 and a half foot lizard isn't loose in your neighborhood. Of course he may be completely tame, but its an animal and anything could startle him causing him to just take off, a plane, a hawk, a car horn. This guy is using his brain. I do the same thing with all of my monitors. Its being a responsible pet owner, not a lazy one.

  • @CalypsoMorphs "Of course he may be completely tame..."

LOL...no such thing as completely tame when referring to any wild creatures, least of all large reptiles. How many people have to be bitten and injured by your so called "pets" before you people understand they are not and can never be tamed.

  • @TryTheRedPill us reptile keepers don't mind that. and we know that they are wild animals. but you know what is even more dangerous than keeping our so-called "beasts"

DOGS!!! thousands and thousands of people are brutally or killed every year by dogs. and you say a large monitor who maybe kills 1 or 2 people every 10 years is dangerous? wow......

  • @beardedDRAGON007 I totally agree!

Although your numbers referring to fatalities are probably over-inflated, many many people worldwide do suffer serious injuries and even death due to dog attacks. But I never focused on fatalities when referring to pet monitors. I was referring to the potential danger of getting BIT. Especially when these animals are kept in homes where small children reside. Never mind how many have died. Research how many people are seriously bit by these things every year!

  • @TryTheRedPill im not talking about people getting bitten. im talking about DEATHS from these monitors. last year 34 people were killed from dogs and 800,000 people were severally injured or need medical attention. I'm 13 and i take care of a sumatran water monitor named Sebastian and he is the SWEETEST thing i have ever seen. he loves kisses and being pet. and in his whole 5 and a half years of life he has only bitten one person.

  • @beardedDRAGON007 Even one person getting bit is one too many. But you are young and will not fully understand that right now. But I'm glad you are happy with your monitor. Keep taking care of him and don't let him get fat like some of these other monitors on here. Good luck!

  • @TryTheRedPill im just saying what i heard online. not trying to exaggerate....but he is not mine...he is the pet stores that i work at. i plan on getting a tegu or savannah monitor soon tho

  • @beardedDRAGON007 i own lizards and yah u do have to wash ur hands before and after u handle them...wut are u talking abt

  • @Imhighandhungry ik....me too. but im saying that i didnt have too because you have a greater chance of getting salmonella from your kitchen than you are from your reptile.

  • @CalypsoMorphs hes got a leash on him so unless it breaks whats the danger?

  • @CalypsoMorphs fagget must own gerbals

  • @CalypsoMorphs I Love you Marry me <3

  • @xXDeadoraliveXx without the leash its really hard to get it outta the pool and there really fast in water.. i had a nile and i tried the whole pool thing without a leash wasnt fun plus mine was really aggressive not docile like this one

  • @xXDeadoraliveXx its also a safety precaution incase the animal gets startled and bolts, if youve ever seen a fleeing water monitor youd know that you would have a hard time catching it lol

  • awwwwww... is just like a doggie :D

  • wont the chlorine hurt it?

  • for a second i thought the guy was vin diesel

  • What type of harness is that?

  • Do you think they would have him for 7 years if they left him swim in chlorine pool?

  • How to keep the annoying neighborhood kids out of your pool.

  • vin diesel no way

  • its called saltwater pool setup

  • Ooh. Love the lizard, and you ain't bad to look at either. ;)

  • love monitors

  • He really likes you

  • is it leagal to have that as a pet

  • @shakyamdan Yes it is, but you do need the papers for it :P

  • I love goannas

  • Better than a dog.

  • that is really cool that he loves water because ive seen other water monitors that dont even like water. Im glad your one of those people who do not force there animal into water just for their entertainment

  • Isn't the chlorine bad for him? Dang, he's a beautiful beast. Lucky you!!!!!!

  • that monitor is so cute i never tough lizards like hugs in the ppool <3

  • I am madly in love with that Monitor. D8

  • The chlorine doesn't hurt reptiles? Cool

  • @Hexeta0055 maby some pools doesn have chlorine

when i was in italy ate the hotel pool there was no chlorine

evry time they closed the pool they puted a robot that cleaned the pool over the time(afternoon-morning) so theres other options

  • SWEEEEEEET

  • oh my freaking god! Where do you get those?
