  • The T6 is too big for my toothbrush.... gotta get a T5....

  • @kadooosh same with my 9900, any luck drying it out? I think imma jump ships to sonic care

  • I followed the video, and it went like a dream.

Two comments: If you haven't got the torx screwdriver, use a 1mm hex key.

I soldered a fine insulated wire to each tag, folded the tags up, and just passed the wires through to the other side of the board - this was easier than trimming the tags, and there was plenty of room.

  • Thank you very much for this very clear explanation of how to replace the battery. I replaced mine last night in 30 minutes and the toothbrush works perfectly. I'm curious as to what software you used to create the video as I would like to create some similar how to videos of my own

  • Great info. I found if you a hammer and chisel to cut the tabs There is less chance of pulling the tab off of the battery. The other benefit is you get a more precise cut.

  • Thank you. My issue was not the rechargeable battery. The unit just stopped working for no reason. I took it apart and dried it, and it works fine now. Some liquid must have gotten inside. I followed your video to take the unit apart and put it back.

  • @mauidudejuno The coil at the top is the pickup that detects which brush head that is installed. When I opened mine I found one of the leads broken as well. I suspect that mine has been broken for a while because it hasn't been telling me to replace the head like it used to.

  • @RobinDaugherty Thanks for the info. The broken wire hasn't prevented me from using the brush so I figured that that the wire isn't too important. Good to know what it's used for.

  • A caution to anyone thinking of trying this replacement: it’s a very delicate repair, and can easily go wrong. I tried it, and despite following all the instructions and everything looking OK, it didn’t work. (And I have repair experience.) I’m out $17.

  • What battery type should I use? Do you happen to have the link to a site where I can buy it?

  • To find link to the store to buy the battery from please see text right under the video. Click the "down" button to see full text.

  • Excellent step-by-step instructions. Thanks a lot!

  • In the last step you could use a correctly sized spanner's U or O-Shape to push the cap in, insteap of using a thumb and a screw (@video 5minute 40seconds)

  • You are right - using spanner would simplify things. When making this video I deliberately tried to use as few tools as possible to make sure people would not have to run to a store to purchase additional tools. But then again, if someone owns a soldering iron and a star-shaped screwdriver, then he probably already owns some spanners... Thank you for the comment. Appreciate it!
