  • Would this happen to be Jackie that use to work at tejas in Hereford Texas? Elvis signature on your ankle?

  • johnny makes it deep

elvis makes it really good too but i still like cash more

  • NO BODY PUTS A SONG OVER LIKE ELVIS THEN OR NOW

  • No, hit be a great song

  • Check out Tom Jones cover. Its also very good. Still think Johnny cash is best cover.

  • Great, and well worth listening to

  • The gospel side of Elvis Presley, while not very well known, is to my mind more brilliant and soulful than all those lovesong ballads.

  • @asaturley

Not very well known? Elvis is the greatest gospel singer there ever was alongside everything else.

  • holy ghost high

  • @gazbo1964 "Run on" is a traditional folk song. The author is unknown.

  • @metyatt i taught it was something god said to do...

  • Wow, this version and Johnny Cash's version are like day and night...

  • Jackie love your video's! if it wasn't for you on youtube I'd be hating life.

  • I've not heard this version before. It's just great!!

  • Hey there, aww man what a class act he still is after all these years. God bless you Elvis. And thank you lots for posting this up. I was listening to Moby and heard this track and just thought 'i wonder', so i just typed it in on its own and this popped up. Great to hear this was a classic before anyone else. God bless yah, thanks again as you've put a smile on my face and made my days. :D

  • Can't see how anyone could dislike this song. Thanks Jackie for this wonderful song. Please watch me sing Elvis's Reach Out to Jesus,if you get time. love to all. Dan Dell

  • Great ELVIS song!!

  • Best version of that tune by a country mile, sorry tom.

  • Thank you! This is one of my favorite Elvis' songs.

    0:20 My favorite photo. Terrific!

  • this version is just epic :D

  • the best gospel song elvis made

  • 7 Ramblers, Gamblers and Back Biters don't like this

  • I really like the elvis version, I like the Gospel-sounding vibe it gives off, but I really think I prefer the more folky- sounding, deeper, slower version that Johnny Cash did. Both are amazing, though.

  • @NowherManYoshi ELVIS THE BEST

  • LesMichael....'That's All Right, Mama' was written by Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup in 1951.

  • Great Video!!!!

  • Moby made this as well. Both are really good versions.

  • This is surely about cause & effect what you do comes back...so we better do good cause if we do bad it'll come back triple...Peace via Musi VIVA MARIA!

  • I find it hard to believe that this man never wrote one song

  • @paulita0513 I know Elvis wrote ..thats all right momma...and I know he wrote quite a few more

  • @LesMichael He wrote "You'll Be Gone" with Red West. He also created the title of a song and asked his friend to write it called "That's Someone You Never Forget".

  • @paulita0513 It's not about the songs he wrote but about how he interprets them and with his talent sings them with soul and feeling causing goose bumps on everyone's skin...Peace via Music VIVA MARIA!

  • Johnny or Elvis, wow, totally different vibes, both awesome.

  • According to the original producer, Elvis is the author too.

  • @brainpimp1 Almost. It's a Elvis arrangement of a traditional song.

  • Tom Jones just released an excellent version of this on his new cd, Praise and Blame. It really is something. The whole cd is great. Quite the Revelation.

  • @SirKevinH reeaaallyyy prefer Elvis 100000000 times better!

  • Johnny Cash did a cover of this song but he called it " Gods Gonna Cut you down"

  • Wow...I just realized his hair=line on his forehead...awesome!

  • 0:52 thumbs up if that looks like kevin spacey

  • the real version aint johhny cash elvis or moby its the jubuialiares

  • Great post. I'm not an Elvis fan...but I love this song.

  • Thanks for posting this! I haven't heard this song since I was about 15.

  • well i never new any other version than Cash. but this is pretty good. i like the way cash did it more but it's always cool to hear Elvis.

  • BRILLIANT AGAIN THANKS JACKIE FOR SHARING THESE GREAT VIDEOS

  • great song

  • Love love love it!!!! ;o) HAIL TO THE KING!!!

  • Oh how I love it! One amazing MAN! Hugs jessie xxxx

  • i've loved elvis since i was a kid, but i never heard this one, this is awesome!

i heard the johnny cash version first though...i like them both about the same

  • BEST VERSION EVER!!!!

  • that'll put a kick in yer step!!

  • @fmkenshin Yeah. His rendition is a dark gospel version of the original. In his version, God is an unrelenting force of vengeance to sinners that they can't run nor hid from him dishing out punishment. A lot of stomping, hand clapping and a guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • Long tongue liar your gonna reap what ya sew

  • one of the best

  • @fmkenshin yeah, in every source it says the songwriter is traditional, so johnny may or may not have been trying to cover a song as much as just playing a traditional song

it's also been recorded by odetta and the blind boys of alabama.

    under more than two names.

  • AWESOME!

  • God is real i promise you

  • It's a great song.

  • The king is getting it.

  • Hes singing with the Jordanaires.

  • You certainly don't have to be a christian to realize - this is a damn good tune! One of Elvis' best imho...

  • Very great...:o)

  • My absolute favorite Christian song by Elvis, bar none!!!

  • ELVIS THE KING!!!

    He be in the sky!!

  • @OV7Super I'm not the king. Jesus Christ is the king. I'm just a singer. (Elvis Presley)

  • THE MEMPHIS MAPHIA.

  • Another great gospel song by the king...:o)

  • i like, this song has be remixed so many times from the original in 1943 version to moby, they all sound good

  • Just heard this song in The Rookie and had to look it up. Thanks for posting, it's the first Elvis song I can really get into. :)

  • @cjwright79 Should look up a few others, most his songs are to be listened to when yer in a certain mood for just each song lol.

  • @cjwright79 Look up Johnny Cash's version

  • Elvis's king was Jesus.

    Great song.

  • This song is just great!!!

  • you should bust out the Moby cover of this song on her and freak her out

  • thanks for posting this is one of my fav Elvis gospels songs :]

  • aewsome

  • shakeahand1, I could not have said it any truer, blunter or straightforward...One word for this song...OWNED....Two words for this song....TRUE THAT...Man, talk about a message..whew...And he don't cull his mission either...listen hard all of those who are unfamiliar with this song/this side of Elvis...STRAIGHT UP WORD

  • Love this song....it reinforces to me that when someone mistreats you that you are not to seek revenge! God will take care of it! "May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you." 1 Samuel 24:12

  • love this ......

  • Elvis owns this song, its one of my favourites. How Great Thou Art album is one of his best.

  • good video. are you sure its from 1966? i thought its from 1968...

  • Nice one all round Jackie although you could not go wrong with this track :-)

  • I like his version better than Johny's

  • Author Unknown. Elvis recorded this traditional gospel song on May 25, 1966 at RCAs Nashville Studios at the first recording produced by Felton Jarvis. Run On was the first song recorded during the session. It is available on Amazing Grace: His Greatest Sacred Songs and Artist of the Century

  • This is such a very fun, groovy and marvelous song. It's one of my all time favorite gospel songs. Elvis loved gospel music with all of his heart and no one will ever be able to sing gospel songs as well or better than Elvis did. As you know, the very first Elvis album that this song appeared on was "How Great Thou Art". I'm still waiting for the FTD label to issue a two disc deluxe edition of this classic Elvis album. This video totally rocked in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.

  • Great song, Jackie!

    Beautiful video!

    Very good job!!

    Thank you!

  • Excellent again. You sure are doing Elvis proud.

Never heard that one before :)
