This is why I love Alesis...they made a whole new awesome analog polysynth at a fairly reasonable price while everyone else was doing semi to pretty decent analog modelling (not that Alesis didn't do that ALSO). Moog and the Dave Smith/Tom Oberheim 'rebirths' are nice, but you really need to be serious to spend those premium costs (and Dave Smith is the only one w/ new polys...unless you count the multi-Slim Phatty poly mode).
at 6:20 I've been blown to the wall behind me. I flew for about four or five meters. There still are cracks and crumbs of plaster on the floor and in my hair. I really loved it.
GREAT demo - I have always wanted to obtain this synth... its funny, I probably could have it already except i always decide to buy others. Right now I've got an Ensoniq Fizmo (best digital synth out there IMO) a Roland JP8000, and a Yamaha AN1x (which i really have to start using more) .... its no joke no - I need some ANALOG. If i don't get this, my next best bet is a waldorf pulse... a lot less expensive, but the andromeda is too cool! once again thanks for great demo!
This is really cool. Are there any CD's you would recommend with these types of sounds? I know nothing about synthesis but I like old video games and 80's movies.
@telescopereplicator believe me, this is ALOT more complicated then a commodore 64 if we're speaking about sound tho;) for example, this thing is propely analog(i think)
analog is alot more complecated, and these sounds were BEFORE the commodore already possible, and besides, a commodore is infact een synthesizer. even the cpu. cpu's are infact advanced oscilator, even your pc wich you are using now has a oscilator;) but those a digital and have a VERY high frequency. these days like 30 ghz
@ZwamTek Correct. I know. But many of the sounds here immediately reminded me of my C64. It uses the SN76477 from Texas Instr., btw.
I really expected better sounds from this wonderful synth, but alas, all I hear are the basic synth sounds any synth can produce. I made more beautiful sounds on my JX-8P and Polysix.
The Andromeda is capable of MUCH more than is shown here.
@dzlvs8 I would just love a desktop version instead of having it in keyboard version, just takes space especially when you already have a big 88 key master for the other stuff.
The photo itself maybe photoshopped, I assume to give an idea of what a different colored stain would look like but the mod is real. Google Alesis Aurora A6. If I ever find an Andromeda this mod will be on the top of the To-do list.
@dramacydal503 I agree now.. I remember this photo from al least 5 years ago and at that time it was considered fake. But, indeed the mod exists, but maybe not completely in the form the picture above shows.
i like this synthesizer , maybe i'll buy one one day

@svenkalmar I picked up the photo from the internet, so it is not my own A6 in the picture; but I thought a lot about raising the panel...
