The S101 is an unboxing nirvana. I think this model is going to be remembered as one of the most accentuated in this realm.

An untouched S101 is a collectors item for sure, but then these machines were not designed for worshipping alone, but can actually serve as a road warrior workhorse as long as number crunching is not the top use case. Nice music !

on the mac, it's so you can choose what you want to put on and save you a lot of hard drive space. perhaps most of the programs preinstalled on the eeepc wouldn't be useful to you.

Non-unibody aluminum apple notebooks dent and bend very easily. Their build quality leaves a bit to be desired.

Do you, as the owner, think the Eee S101 is a quality product? Does it match the quality of Apple products?

Off course not. The quality is really good but it's a portable PC quality, not even close to the built quality of a macbook f.e.

I'm a macuser since a lot of years and hope that Apple will make a netbook even at 1000 $ but with the apple built quality... I'll buy it the day it goes out.

yeah I found it in Amazon. The reason I'm considering this is it's a sexy alternative to macbook air, which even when refurbished, is out of my price range. I would get the other netbooks if they were good looking. I thought lenovo s10 was pretty close in well rounded machine, but it's battery life is terrible.

What about HP mini 1000? It's only 1" thick. And you can get a new macbook air for around 1100$ now if you search around for sales(for sites looking to get rid of their old airs) and don't mind the old generation one.

I agree for Mini 1000 wich isn't out yet. I think I'll buy one and would do a video review of it. The killing feature is the big keyboard as the right shift key of the S101 is really annoying.

I think the Macbook Air is a different machine as the screen is really big compared to netbooks.

For now, I dont have any problems of storage as it's much a 'on the go" device so I just have 2 Gb of work files and some pictures and music.
