i personally would of put the open hole at the front, then got an orc model that usual sits in a deffkopta and sat hi min there, to make it seem the deff dread was being controlled by an Ork, but thats just me :)

This is so totally my own approach to kitbashing, too - toss it all on the table and see what fits together, then liberally saw, clip, and apply cement. Great minds think alike?

Also, Band-Aids mixed in with the Orks...heh! Never know when you're gonna nick a finger, so you might as well put some in every bitz box you own.

green stuff is very simlar to apoxy putty. its a two part putty that once mixed, hardens after a while. you can make all sorts of things out of it while it is still pliable, and once its set, it can becomes completly ridged and can be painted.
