  • have you ever tried laying the color down and then blending it with the white on top?? thats what i do but i am self taught so i dunno the proper techniques?? anyhow i like to do a light layer of color and then smear/blend it with white! then i can spread the color to different areas...that way

  • Lol thumbs up if you use crayola XD

  • @cutewebkinz13 For over 20 years ^_^ Oh yea

  • Wow, this is...awesome! For the fur did you just do little flicks of the pencil? And would you suggest anything for longer hair? When I'm trying to make long hair, I tend to go a little screwy and the lines don't look uniform. Do you have any tips? Thanks!

  • I like!

  • I like to use arches watercolor paper hot press with an smooth texture for my drawings, wonderful for blending colors, I don use prismacolors though I use verythin brand for detail.

  • That is very interesting. Wonderful technique!

  • nice....ive been using prismas for awhile and didnt think of using white as a base...u r very talented

  • thanks for the video im gonna have to get prisma color currently im using crayola and the dont blend to well

  • Have you googled mr. crayola?

    His art is wonderful.

  • Hi. Love your art!!!! Do you sketch or just start blocking in shapes? Thank you for the information. Theresa

  • I figured out the white is a great background to make them blend, and using crayola pencils i need all the help i can get

  • Wow, EXCELLENT information. I use Prismacolour pencils too, and never new that I could blend them with isoprophyl alcohol or to use white as a base colour. Amazing!!! You are an excellent artist by the way. Thank you for sharing your techniques with us!!!

  • whats the best color pencil can you tell i try so manny colors i do no what colors are the best

  • I have tried using the markers and either I don't know how to use them properly or they just don't have the range that the pencils do. I guess I am just going to keep with the pencils. This is what I have used for the past 22 years and I am comfortable with them. Keep experimenting with them, try using both.

  • can you explain what watercolor or regular prisma colors are? the differences? also are markers better or color pencils cuz im tryin to save money so i just wanna get 1. thanks for teaching me how to blend!

  • I'm not sure what the watercolor pencils are made of. I will look into that and get back with you. Prismacolor pencils are a blend of oil and wax which is why you can thin them with rubber cement thinner or isoprophol alcohol.

  • ok thanks. should i get markers or color pencils?

  • i've been looking for this thanks for showing how to blend colored pencils! it helps me a lot!

  • Cool!

  • I got a colored pencil blender at Michael's that looks like a double-ended marker. Works like a marker blender, except it's for colored pencil. I'll try your technique too! Thanks.

  • I have used these in the past. You can also use isoprophyl alcohol and a Q-tip to blend the colors. It males the colored pencil look like a watercolor wash.

  • Thanks! Im a manga artist, well still an amatuer, but I have been drawing for about 4 years. I have been using Crayola for 1 year, and I think I'm ready. This will help a lot! Thanks!

  • Wow, great way to blend. Thanks, I'll be using the in the future.

  • is it still good to use crayola colored pencil?

  • Of course! Use whatever you like or are used to. I don't know very much about Crayola pencils, but I'm sure they are a wax based pencil and that will allow you to blend them.

  • Wow, what kind of pencils do you use?

  • I only use Prismacolor. Sorry about the quality of this video. I am forced to use the camera on my phone until I can get a better camera.

  • is that the best brand of pencils or do you suggest others?

  • I only use Prisma Color pencils. Yes I think they are the best. They dont leave any kind of dusty residue. I have tried others. I've also tried oil and acrylic paints. Way to messy!

  • Ok, thanks. I have been using just the plain old Crayola, but maybe I could find some Prismacolor, thanks again!

  • I only use Prismacolor Pencils. I find them to be very consistant.
