These horses are not wild, people. They are BRED FOR BUCKING. Jeez, it is not hurting the horse! Outside the rodeo, these horses are just normal horses on a ranch. They are selectively bred with the best bucking parents to create a good bucking colt. You can take any horse at all (that is not desensitzed to this, I desensitize all my horses in this area so that they wont buck), and put a rope around its belly in front of its hind legs, pull on it, and that horse will buck,just from the sensation

And people, there have been laws passed regarding rodeos. If anything is the slightest bit cruel, the rodeos get shut down. They aren't cruel. Gryphonking. I dont know anything about roping so I can't talk about it. And just because there are some jackasses with cattle prods doesn't mean every rodeo uses them. The rodeo's that I've worked with didn't use cattle prods. And as for Flank straps. Flank straps don't hurt the animals they're put on. They may annoy them, because regardless they're wild animals you put anything on a wild horse it would probably start bucking. But flank straps (if used properly) don't hurt animals.

It is also, (I'm pretty sure) illegal to use a wild mustang in rodeos, because they have to be adopted with strict regulations. These are average horses, that are terrified. If you understand Equine body language you can see this. The flank strap DOES hurt, that's why they kick. I don't know much about bulls, but I can tell you for certain with horses.
@gryphonkeen have you ever seen a flank strap up close? they are just big wool pads. And the stock brought to rodeo's aren't the mustangs you can attain through the wild horse and burro auctions. Most of them are bred on the owners ranches. Just because a horse is wild doesnt mean its a mustang. And if your conception of a wild horse is a mustang. Then how do you transport mustangs?

did anybody notice the jerk at 2:23? he smacked his horse on the top of the head just because it moved forward a little! what an asshole! and did u notice that the horse at 1:57 fell and didn't get up? pretty much all the horses in this video are abused! typical rodeo!

jus like western horses whose head gets tired up all night so their neck muscles are to tired to hold their head up. Or how in some type of jumping event ( I can remember which sorry) they hit the horses legs with bamboo or a thick stick so they tuck them up properly. Rodeos dont abuse their animals. have you looked in your own backyard lately?

BULLSHIT! check out sharkonline videos, he prooves that rodeos animals are abused, maimed, and killed by the rodeo thugs that dare call themselves men. by the way i hope you realize that you're talking about people that ride english. and where i live that is not aloud and you can get fined for it.

Oh shark online takes the one in a million bad thing that happens in rodeo. If I slow down eventing i could show you the same thing. How much horses legs anit-flex when they land. Or how their back hollows. WESTERN pleasure tie their horses heads up high all night so the horses neck muscles arn't strong enough to hold its head up..

@ArizonaRodeoKing really? So they faked the hundreds of videos? I've seen plenty in person without SHARK's videos, so there was no propaganda there. Certain sports in Rodeo are DEF cruel. Barrel racing, Poles, etc are fine, but calf roping and steer busting are terrible. and anyone who's pretending otherwise is deliberately looking the other way. Take the flank straps off, and get rid of the shockers, and then have at it I say..

Gryphonking. I dont know anything about roping so I can't talk about it. And just because there are some jackasses with cattle prods doesn't mean every rodeo uses them. The rodeo's that I've worked with didn't use cattle prods. And as for Flank straps. Flank straps don't hurt the animals they're put on. They may annoy them, because regardless they're wild animals you put anything on a wild horse it would probably start bucking. But flank straps (if used properly) don't hurt animals.

@ArizonaRodeoKing They are not wild horses or they would be unable to be handled and transported. It is also, (I'm pretty sure) illegal to use a wild mustang in rodeos, because they have to be adopted with strict regulations. These are average horses, that are terrified. If you understand Equine body language you can see this. The flank strap DOES hurt, that's why they kick. I don't know much about bulls, but I can tell you for certain with horses.

@gryphonkeen have you ever seen a flank strap up close? they are just big wool pads. And the stock brought to rodeo's aren't the mustangs you can attain through the wild horse and burro auctions. Most of them are bred on the owners ranches. Just because a horse is wild doesnt mean its a mustang. And if your conception of a wild horse is a mustang. Then how do you transport mustangs?

All three are dynamic, fast-paced events.
