And by the way every interview I saw David do was exactly the same. Exactly. So tiresome and such a let down thinking I knew him a little bit that he wouldn't allow this kind of rote Hollywood script happen. He must have been really bored or really witten into a contract. I am ashambed of him. Makes me angry for him to agree to something so badly written.
I hated the second movie. And for all the advertising they did they could have put it into the film. It was so depressing and cold. The worst was that it had nothing to do with the X-files except for having Mulder and Scully in it. Child molesting priest, people cutting off limbs, etc. It was a horror movie and as cut off from the X-files and the genius of CC that I can think of. I was one of the first in our city to see it. I had written letters to get it produced and then that. YUCK.
I wasn't disappointed in the 2nd movie cause there were not really to many loose ends or unanswered questions I needed fulfilled. I loved the atmosphere of the movie and thought it felt like one of the better episodes. It felt like they opened the door to make at least one more movie that could be more satisfying to the main story line followers so here is hoping.
This movie & Prince Caspian shouldve been pushed back & released at Christmas Time They both wouldve done better without the competition It was suicide releasing Caspian between Iron Man & Indiana Jones & there was no way X-files could hold out against the Dark Knight & this psychic pedophile Priest business just pissed me off but Anderson & Duchovny were brilliant Even if its just a straight to DVD thing they have to make a movie in 2012
How eloquent and smart this guy is. He has to answer these same questions over and over, and still manages to be thoughtful about the responses.
I'm glad that he's still optimistic about future XF movies. I'd be first on line.
Honestly, I liked this second one way better than the first one, which came off like Bruckheimer-lite. This movie FELT like the X-Files - dark, moody, bleak. Absolutely loved it.
I really liked the movie - it had all the bits I loved about the x-files with relationship, an interesting story, jeopardy and the only real problem was when it was released - I agree it shouldn't have been a summer movie. It's more sophisticated than a summer blockbuster and as far as I'm concerned that's a very GOOD thing! More please! :0)
So Please do a third X files movie and please give this franchise that I've loved so much for so long the justice it deserves! Put the X back in the X files, wrap up all those questions that have been created over all these years and then do something REALLY crazy!! Actually PROMOTE IT!
I can't agree. The X Files is one of those shows that really played itself out. When Duchovny left, the show had really run itself into some major plot holes which they tried desperately to fill during the last season, but came up short.
.I saw virtually NO promotion for it!! Knowing that it was coming out in late July I kept on waiting and waiting for the buzz from Fox to really start pumping me up that my 2 favorite FBI agents where finally coming back and I hardly saw a thing! As a matter of fact, I never even saw the first promo for the movie until the WEEK before it came out! What crap!...
And whose bright idea was it to release it in the middle of the summer when everyone only wants to see big block busters?!! Whoever that person was should be fired! If they knew that this movie was a low budget mini thriller then common sense dictates that it is NOT released in the middle of the summer! Although XF2 did have the raw dumb luck of opening right after the biggest movie of apparently all time,...
I don't even know where to being! Imho, this movie was totally f'ed up from its inception. Firstofall, although I liked it & already saw it twice I still cant get over the fact that CC gave us a freaking stand alone after 6 years! A stand alone! Their was never any guarantee that their was (& hopefully will be) a 3rd movie and you give us a stand alone??!! Whatever happened to all those questions that where created through out the years?? What about William?? Why does he have those powers??...

Duchovny is so articulate. I really admire him. He is so cute and sexy.
I´d love to see more films with him, x-files types or other genre like romantic comedies.

The x-files wasn't the longest running sci-fi on American TV.. Stargate went on longer.
