I knew from an atlas that Sochi is located by the Black Sea. I'm so interested in the city as a venue of the next Winter Olympics.

Could be a disaster. Sochi may be the only region in Russia with very little snow. It is a sub-tropical environment. It is fairly remote. All the infrastructure for the athletics events, hotels, the Olympic Village for the athletes, restaurants, etc must be pretty much built from scratch. Most of the avenues into Sochi, the roads etc. must be constructed. The corruption in Russia is monumental. A road built into Sochi recently cost 50 X's what it would cost to build in N. America.

I'm so excited about this. Can't wait until they start. Hopefuly, by then I will save up some money and go to Sochi with an expectation that Russia will win the most gold medals. And that it will be their new 1956, where they once won the first place at hockey which became a tradition.

Dubai is just blowing all of their oil money on fancy architecture. There is no real reason for Dubai to remain relevant after their oil is depleted. Russia has more resources and land than any other country in the world. And to be exact, the cities of the future are Moscow and Beijing. Maybe Sochi too. But regardless, it's goodbye to America. Enjoy it for now while the Mexican population is still under 50%. ;)
