  • great!!

  • That was pretty cool. From 2:00 to 2:42 it looked like you had 8 fingers.

Lol, I wish I could play like you.

  • @guting can you please make a tutorial for this song YOUR WAY ? cuz the other tutorials that i seen are SHIT

  • best version of crosscurrent i have ever heard!

  • In my opinion you have very good technique skills, but the most important thing to be a very good player is missing...

    ...and that is love.

I think you don't feel piece and harmony in the songs you play.

To quote my idol: "Human emotion is the magical ingedient in any form of music."

    Think about it...

  • @Hure123456

You must be high, Guting makes thirty dollare cheapy ukes sing like a kamaka. He makes beat up duck tape ukes sound brand new.

  • eh bro? do u finks a maori gurl can learn fo to play like dat? :D dayaum AUEEEEE. • wow definitely incredible!!!

I need to ask, what is your uke model? What strings?

  • saw that it was a rogue baritone! Now... how do you get that loud, resonant, punchy tone?!

  • the uke in this video is the lowest model lanikai tenor, im not sure but I think the strings were worth clear hard tensions, its been a while.

  • this is incredible dude. what finger/fingers do you use for your super fast strumming? thanks

  • shooooooooooooooooot cus dats da kine right der. I need ta get on yer level uce. TUTORIAL PLEASE !!!!!!

  • your gay dude...lol hi dude!

  • Awesome! best cover of this song! I just started learning the uke. How long have you been playing? Do you just play by ear?

  • Brooo what strings do u reccomend for a Tenor?

I been playing for over 6 years.. But never got into researching all that technical stuffs. I just like jammm. But i think its time for a change of strings... i havent changed them since i got the uke haha

  • Aquila maybe? it sounds great on my tenor.

  • depends on the sound you like, aquilas have that mellow softer tone, if you like loud bright kine check out worth clears.

  • Your Amazing!

you play better then the man who wrote it himself.

  • not even close.....but hes better than the rest

  • i dont.. i like the way his acoustics sound.. but then again i haven't a good video on him.. amybe you could help out on that

  • alrights then thanks gee

  • bro i like the ghs strings because they nice and pretty deep.. songs like dragon and gently weeps - which strings you think are good for those?

  • should be fine with the ghs

  • wot wud u recommend?

  • depends on you, I like the thin high tension of the worth clear when going solo or nuts. Nylguts more smooth and looser feeling.

  • bro u fink dat the Aquilas go good with the Lu-21T cos i was gunna buy some.. not sure if i shud

    better than ghs lmao

  • they go alright

  • lololol ok :)

  • I like your faster version better than the original. Great Job.

  • Such amazingness. XD I cant get the really high notes in the fast part to ring out like you can. =\ Might be my strings, maybe?

  • When you strum super fast it looks like your made out of rubber.

  • very cool,

I saw your songs 100 times

I got a lot more mistakes

  • Ahh... I Wish I Can Learn How To Play Crosscurrent With The Uke! You Play Just Like Jake [In My Opinion] Big Props!! =D

  • cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee mean playing bah

  • props

  • all i have to say is that i'm amazed! i thought i would be disapointed because this is one of my favorite songs. but, i'm really am not! so keep on playing man.

  • Where'd you learn this song from?

  • I learned this song from youtube lol! From the one video where hes in a red stage light.

  • Hey Guting. Can you give some tips? i want to start paying ukulele an iam 17 years old...(how long are you playing?)

  • One morrrrrrrrrrre question. If I get a 6 string ukulele, will I be able to play the same songs you can play on a 4 string? Don't wanna sound dumb, just making sure that they won't have completely different tunings and stuff.

  • Of course you can, might sound awkward because of the tuning though since those extra octaves are meant to reinforce the strum. You can always tune the strings the same or take them off. Do whatever makes you happy, lol. have fun

  • Hey whats the tunning on the uke for dis song. is it still G C E A?

  • yea

  • damn man props

  • i dont really know the names of the chords in this song, I do know theres G, G without the c string pressed, and Em those are the basic chords this song is based around.

  • Ok, one more thing. I know you won't be tabbing it out all the way soon, but can you, in any order, just name the chords you're playing so I can learn those chords on the ukulele and try to play it by ear for the rest of it?

  • :(, I see. Well, if you ever happen to tab it out or something, I'd love to know immediately so that I may learn how to play it too. Also if you don't mind, what type of ukulele do you have? Just wanna make sure I get one that has the same tuning and tone capabilities.

  • my uke is a rogue baritone, 30$. Id do for a concert or tenor, anything decent 100$ or more should make u happy. I own an expensive 11 year old Koaloha concert but like this ridiculously cheap uke because it feels better.

  • If you have no chords or tabs for it, then how did you learn it? Cuz I really wanna learn it too. Also do you know what ukulele Jake uses? I wanna get something similar cuz I heard ukuleles come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, I wanna make sure I get the right one.

  • If you have no chords or tabs for it, then how did you learn it?

ever heard of eyes & ears?

Jake uses a custom Kamaka that costs more than my car HAHA!

Just get something that feels right to you both in size and playability.

  • That was fantastic. Thanks for sharing! And... i really need to learn some proper strumming!

    Regards Wilfried

  • f*cking sick.

  • dude kick ass you got any tabs or cords for it?

  • sorry bro, none.

  • ey man, nice going but it's not all about speed...

easy abit on the speed and you'll make magic =)

  • I know its not all about speed, im just demonstrating it. I have another video thats slower, maybe youll like that one.

  • i've watched all your movies and you're indeed very skilled ;)

    nice demonstration ;P

  • sounds flippin awesome mang. what kine uke is that? i have an ovation and im lookin into a traditional uke (made of wood lol)

  • 100 dollar lanikai tenor, all bus already.

  • MR. LAUFAO!!! woa dude thats pretty good man, hows shit going? this is kevin btw. peace brother

  • ope sup murphy, its all good man.

  • wow..how long did it take you to learn that?!?!...that was amazing!!!

  • Your the only one I've seen that can actually pull off a decent cover of Jake Shimabukuro's music. Do you do this all by ear because it's absolutely amazing.

  • im all ear

  • awesome job! Good timing on the lighting fast strumming runs. I don't listen to Jake too much, but just listening to the song without picture sounds like him. Keep jammin'

  • mahalos braddah

  • gutes! mean ur playing ... thanks for the dedication bro =P aurigh! keep doin what u do ... take it easy man ... c u when u get back home to hawaii =)

  • Dayam dude you are soo dope, I can't imagine doing the things you and aldrine, jake and all you guys do but I know eventually. I've just lately been messing with the guitar a lot.. =P I respect everyone elses comments be they good or bad but I still suck compared to doing stuff like this. GREAT JOB!

  • You're getting better and better from every video. Keep it up man.

  • wow. THIS is a powersong! i can do this speed just in the air. on the uke it sounds terrible. very good!

but it could sound better if you go up and down with loudness on some parts like aldrin said.

you blow it away, thats awesome, but you have to feel the song, too...

  • thanks! it will sound EVEN better if I had a better camera too!

  • what do you mean by the melody is kinda.... bootlegged? I knew I took it faster than previously, but to my ears and those around me in person who heard it says that its clean enough. The cameras microphone cannot capture exactly what was produced (I noticed it sounded like crap once I put it on my computer) then when I uploaded to youtube it degraded even more. It literally sounds amped, and nothing like what it should. cant help it though, if anything a real video cam would be key.

  • (cough)... when i said bootlegged, its just another slang term for the word skiddish... im problyz juzz sayin the same thing as aldrine.. like, your focus on your speed is too much, and not enough melody... but i can honestly say that i watch the other crosscurrent video more than anyone you can find, although its clean enough, i notice a large diff... but i aintz tryin to hatez on a brotha, imm juzz help my lil homie get big... peace outz!

  • i dont know.. i dont think it was as awsome as the other one, "crosscurrent...again"... but i see you made up a real ending =)... but i still like the other better, sincerely, i think you kinda rushed it alot.. alot of the rythem and notes where kinda skiddish... but i might be wrong, i can tell you altered the way you played it?... trust me, if you watch them both you can tell the melody is kinda... bootlegged.. no offence.. its still better than any other player i have seen...keepz it upz

  • mean your hair.

  • lol! you too much man, especially the other videos HAHA!

  • It's getting better from your other attempts. Still as muddy as ever especially at the last part. Too much fancy and not enough melody. Don't ignore the accents and phrasing, that's what makes this song cool. If you played it clean, it'll sound a lot better

  • Just Wow!!! great job.

  • This is the best attempt I've seen you had of Crosscurrent so far. Respect! That's insane. Can only be matched by Jake himself. Do you make your own songs too?

  • damn mna, who taught u? jake shimabukuro?
