Here, in Texas of the US, we do have some officers clocking the speed of drivers with the speed gun and they adjust the sights as the car moves this causes increased speed reading due to Pythagorean therm. even though a car traveled 3 ft, it may return 4 or 5 ft as distance traveled. we have some stationary speed guns that measure your speed and print it out on its screen, if you are going above the speed limit it flashes. I prefer the latter as it minimizes the chance of error.
Its all revenue raising. I don't have a car, so then have to suffer "Public" transport, that is so bad it makes me want to have a car. I don't want one.
In the UK many local councils are now removing speed cameras. They have to pay our government to keep the cameras and because the revenue from these cameras has dropped. Its not financially viable to keep them anymore.
So it was all about money all along. It was never about road safety. In fact there is no direct evidence to prove that speed cameras make our roads safer. It is nothing but stealth taxation and lies.

Speed guns work on the doppler effect and it is very true that moving the speed gun will add slip, adding or subtracting to the reading taken.One very expensive way of eliminating slip is to add accelerometers inside the speed gun to detect and counteract hand movement but it is extremely expensive. Speed cameras are a hinderance and at best a distraction.
@Djhg2000 I guess it all depends on how accurate the accelerometers are, the one's I know are expensive are used in navigational instruments and their accuracy have to be tight as a duck's proverbial as the signal is monitored over long duration whereas speed cameras can get away with using inferior accelerometers as the signal is only monitored for seconds. I think it comes down as it's not cost effective to get innocent people off the hook but to screw them instead

Well, the 6th amendment first you invoked, is about a "fair trial", which will take place, in case you do not want to pay the fine automatically a trial is scheduled and police have to prove their accusations, you can challenge their hardware is setup correct, is calibrated, etc., I heard of such similar cases.
So. the 6th is not making illegal use of traffic cameras, but it is allowing you to challenge the accusations in a fair trial.
Some people in the UK did challenge on the basis of the cameras not being calibrated on the same day. Some won their cases but now that loophole has been closed. They want the money so they closed any chance of challenging the accusation.

That video is a criticism of laser guns. These same guns are used by motorcycle cops in AZ. So folks should be getting mad about it. Most officers use them hand held so they can't avoid panning errors.
Unfortunately it's not a criticism of red light cameras, because the cameras don't use these guns at all.
ah one other thing to add to this video there are people that are allergic or have bad reactions from photostrobes. I forget the name of the disease but this can cause serious trouble for the person that is allergic that are photo sensative.

The autobahn only has no speed limit in certain areas. Did you know that the accident on the autobahn often end up as fatality accidents due to the speed? Not accurate tests shown. They test it on vehicles that are parked. A well trained operator doesnt have these issues. This is why most vehicles are clocked coming at the gun and not driving by, thus, no slip reading. Nothing on earth is perfect. Get used to it. Whiners. Obey the speed limit. Its that simple. Wouldn't it be easier to just require all vehicles to have a cheap little short range radio transmitter that can send the vehicle's actual speed and VIN to a nearby police radio? Implementing it in the software would cost a little, but at those volumes it shouldn't affect the price too much.
Something as simple as detecting a shaky hand should suffice.
Total cost over 1000 units?
Sensors: about $10-50, depending on features
Software: $3000-$1000000 depending on the skill, laziness and greediness of the developer(s)

my friend told me a story of him rushing to make a left turn off a highway at maybe 40 or 50 mph.. the officer pulls him over for taking the turn at 70 mph.. theoretically impossible for the almost 90 degree turn.. ill always remember that story when referring to radar error.

Well, the 6th amendment first you invoked, is about a "fair trial", which will take place, in case you do not want to pay the fine automatically a trial is scheduled and police have to prove their accusations, you can challenge their hardware is setup correct, is calibrated, etc., I heard of such similar cases.
So. the 6th is not making illegal use of traffic cameras, but it is allowing you to challenge the accusations in a fair trial.

Some people in the UK did challenge on the basis of the cameras not being calibrated on the same day. Some won their cases but now that loophole has been closed. They want the money so they closed any chance of challenging the accusation.

laser speed guns are crap, their good at singling out individual cars but are the cause of alot of errors. the dopplar type radar guns are more accurate but can't single out individual cars in a group easily. either way its your word vs the cop.

That video is a criticism of laser guns. These same guns are used by motorcycle cops in AZ. So folks should be getting mad about it. Most officers use them hand held so they can't avoid panning errors.
Unfortunately it's not a criticism of red light cameras, because the cameras don't use these guns at all.

Btw, speed enforcement does increase road safety. But, not having researched this, Im sure you wouldnt know that. Tickets are not an "industry", and the only reason it brings in soooo much money is that people just dont want to obey the law. So, I guess, in reality, the reason for the high amount of ticket revenue is the fast drivers, not the officers enforcing the law. Hmmmmm. Food for thought.

The autobahn only has no speed limit in certain areas. Did you know that the accident on the autobahn often end up as fatality accidents due to the speed? Did you know that most citizens in Germany are pushing for blanket speed limits on the entire autobahn? But keep in mind, tickets are not issued until you are usually at least 9 over the speed limit. Then again, I live in the united states where the lidar equipment is a bit better.

Not accurate tests shown. They test it on vehicles that are parked. A well trained operator doesnt have these issues. This is why most vehicles are clocked coming at the gun and not driving by, thus, no slip reading. Nothing on earth is perfect. Get used to it. Whiners. Obey the speed limit. Its that simple. Apparently British lidar units suck. Lol.

Wouldn't it be easier to just require all vehicles to have a cheap little short range radio transmitter that can send the vehicle's actual speed and VIN to a nearby police radio? I mean, give me a break! All these RADAR and LADAR devices are nothing but boondoggles, a total waste of taxpayer dollars.
