  • Aqui esta lo mejor , me gusta mucho la musica de lou, gracias por publicar esta cancion

  • Happy Birthday low- 69 years. One of the greatest giants of rock and roll.

  • Love this song and several of his others.

I remember when they all came out.

    Superior gifted singers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lou christie, Leo Sayers, and Frankie Vallie, are the 3 guys who could changer there voice in this way, and I like it.

  • Cousin Brucie and Murray the K., that takes me back 1010WINS,N.Y. Thanks for posting

  • One of the greatest songs ever.

Love the voice. I listen to him as often as I can. My kids do too.

  • Makes me want pick up some burgers and milkshakes and cruise the beach in my 32 Ford Coupe Hot Rod with my girlfriend.

  • Thanks so very much for the posting. I could never get enough of lou Christie. A wonderful reminder of My early teen years.

  • It's true one to laugh and one to cry with all that is going on. We pretend but sometimes it hurts no matter what is going on. LadyProwler100

  • Such an underrated song and performer....

  • @centralparocker in more recent years he did a version of mr. diengly sad he previewed the cd on the dowop shop with don k. reid on wcbsfm

  • lou lou lou is what you hear at his concerts, met him several times he's great

  • I was 12 when this song came out. Lou did well for the next 3 years until he came out with "rhapsody in the rain" . then it was all over for him. they said the song was over the top. actually, I agree. but I thought the rest of his music was first rate. My favorite was "the gypsy cried"

  • ye-igh ye-igh ye-igh....lol

  • Anyone hear attack attacks new deluxe reissue? Its alot like lou christie. Listen to a song by them called AC130. The resembelence is uncanny!

  • LOVED this guys music all through High school!! 5 Stars!!!

  • Met Lou in '90...amazing singer...GORGEOUS!!!! Love this song! (Think I even offered to help him hit the high notes on this song...wink wink...LOL)

  • How the hell does some people get this kind of a vote. Just an amazing singer.

  • yigh yigh yigh yigh....:)

  • Oh he is so cute!!

  • A true '60's artist. I've been listening to him since then. Please come and tour Australia

  • I'm usually not into music with male singing in shrilly voices (ie. Big Girls Don't Cry), but this song puts a smile on my face :) I should have downloaded it on my itunes.

  • @BeatlesFetish09 want a blow job dimple dick?

  • @KarenEngSwallows ISNT IT SHRIMP DICK ?

  • One of the best songs of the 60's. They don't make like this anymore.

  • Hell yeah it was cool... I was about 13 also at the time...don't worry about it. We're 63% of the total population...this music should make a total comeback! Everything else now is boring! No goosebump music anymore....what a shame!

  • I remember when "The Gypsy Cried" was released and "Two Faces Have I" followed they were the two best recordings Lou evre made not that he didn't have other successful (financially and musically) records I was 13 at the time and these two records caught the pulse of teenage pathos Great classics

  • That must be The Tammys singing back-up vocals!

  • Boy! This is really old, I know because I'm old. Still GREAT MUSIC!!!!

  • I wonder what this guy did to himself to get his voice so high.

  • Comment removed

  • Love this song too, it's been one of my favourite oldies since I was 14, love Lou Christie's classic voice. Fun to sing along....

  • I love this song. My favorite oldie.

  • Still relevant in 2011 great memories and so glad others that are youngerare exposed to it::))

  • best song ever i adore the falsseto on this guy man wat a voice a true classic???

  • so sexy......then and now

  • The classic Italian macho man/crooner. Forget the falsetto, these guys nailed more tang than anyone could ever remember. Lou's best for me is "I'm Gonna Make You Mine" but that insane guitar solo in Lightning Striking is outside the box for sure!

  • Wow! He's going into Edith Bunker territory.

  • best song everrrrrr (:

  • I loved playing this back then. That falsetto drove my mother crazy.

  • I give Frankie V a SLIGHT edge over Lou Christie.

  • @Soulblackman Agreed, Frankie has a much better voice, but Lou has

an atmosphere that is ethereal. Love em both!

  • @turbo1964 I think the 4 Seasons also gave Frankie an overall edge.

  • thanks for posting this song i have an oldies show at our local radio station and people call in and request this song at least 10 times!!!

  • Mr. thegkk2... Being romantic will NEVER get old.. be yourself and romance this girl the right way if she doesn't see you for who you are , she is not the one. This isn't my kind of music either but I love it. Take it from a romantic man.

  • I thought he was a doll back then. Then at a fair I asked if I could kiss his cheek. it was a dream come true.

  • yaaaaaa song rocks after all these years its amazing how high he could get

  • Could you imagine a singer of today trying to pull this off?

Not on your life. It could never happen with all the electronics they would need.

    Sir David

  • Where's the rest of the instrumental track?

  • Now ,this is the song that's truly Lou Cristys' classic. Thank you

  • <3 !!

this was real musik not like today's

  • Wonderful music. Thanks for posting! Yeah Lou Christie! Yum

  • This is a LIVE version? This version is truly different of the record version! The stereo effect is terrific!

  • So, I had never heard such version until today! But it's very bizarre and stunning at the same time, This could be painful to hear this version hours along!

  • this song rocks

  • 1 of th best falsetto voices ever i just wish he would have made songs. listen thegkk2. in todays age? you are just going to have to talk to her face to face aand tell her you like and and would she go out on date. thatz about all you can do. if she says yes then hooray, but if she says no, then ask to be friends and go from there. but you must not show any kind of nervousness or she will be able to see that. come now boy get git that babe

  • this is much better tthen most new crap can't stand new stuff

  • amazing voice, but its very strange at times

  • Great song. Best falsetto in the business. Even if his voice sounds weird (to some, not me) in falsetto .. Lou just pulls you in and he owns any song he wrote or performs.

  • @11xzxzxz I couldn't have said it better!

  • God bless this music, I can't stand the new stuff. I myself only at the age of 20 love Glenn Miller and so much 20's 30's 40's 50's and 60's music because those were the times of good music, not like now.

Hail Lou Christie and all the others :)

  • ty soooooooooooooo much

  • Thanks Lou Ghrisie for the great music and memories.

  • lol, I was aloways listening to this in the car, with dad, allmy life, and never knew it was oldies legend, lou christie..... NOW I DO! XD

  • What great music.......I remember with a smile on my face......good times.....great music...being young and carefree!

  • Good music!

  • always loved this song! Thanks for posting.

  • Soul Music... Be Original instead of a bunch a biters. Be original and you will come up with more great music like this.

  • This is arguably the first :reggae record" to chart in the USA (1962) It is great.

  • @ladbrady damn I guess you're right no wonder I love this song

  • for the longest time i thought this was the four seasons.. can you imagine how long it would take to finally find something like this if all you ever remembered was the "aye aye aye" part? :S

  • I'll bet the Geater leaned on this record plenty when it came out. Can any of you Phillyphiles confirm that?

  • I know Lou since 1966. He is awesome & still is. "Happy Birthday" Lou

  • I hear this song... and and I think, "GoodFellows" the movie. Why? I can almost see Joe Pesci pounding some guy, all the while saying, "you motherf___r, f__k your mother"!

  • Gr8 song

  • used in john waters mondo trasho. this is the first time i've heard the full song and i'm rather impressed

  • SorrI4got your shit

  • This is pure New Orleans beat, not reggae beat

  • I meet him in 1963...he is NOT a very nice person

  • This song was very popular in April 1963.

  • It never hit me before now this song has a reggae beat! Guess I was always too fixated on Lou's great falsetto.

  • this song makes me happy :)

    scared, but happy.

you know, scared in a good way.

  • He was more than kinda cute!

  • my song and i'm only 17 years old because this song is so good it beats all of the new hip hop trash that we have so this is why i listen to oldies oh and because i love a girl in my drama class and i dont know how to ask her out and i really love i get ontop of my house at midnight and watch the stars and think of her so please messege me for advise

  • only thing you can do is be yourself! always be kind especially to her. and try to talk to her, like small things like asking how her day was.

  • Well, get to know what she's into, starting with music, and hobbies, etc. See what you have in common, and go from there.

  • @thegkk2 @thegkk2 Well I'm 34 with lots of regrets about missed opportunities. Fear can't play a part in your quest you gonna be dead someday bro so you truly have to GO FOR IT. You wimp out or strike out she's gone anyway so risk is the only answer. NUT SHELL. can't be afraid it's illogical and scared people don't get what they want, find out her interests research them a little and then talk to her about them if she says anything about after school functions take interest and ask her out.

  • @thegkk2 stick with the classic rock and roll you are so bright At her age she probably likes dancing That daydreaming is the best thing you can do It will pay off big time Learn to Dance then ask her to go as friends you want to make another girl jealous that she doesn't know works with girls all the time be sly
  • @thegkk2 You and the easter bunny need to get together for lunch!

  • @thegkk2 Jump!

  • This is race down the road in a muscle car with your sweet heart music.

  • Lou Christie somehow just reaches out & grabs you when he is singing

  • this song's growin on me. kinda cute. i discovered lou here on youtube and he's gr8.

  • Thanks so much for this song - have loved it for all time and didnt think I would hear it again.

  • Jetzt weiß ich auch, warum mir schon damals der Song so gut gefallen hat: Das hier war der erste Reggae, den ich Anfang der 60er gehört hatte! Einfach Suuuper!

  • How can you say such a ding?

  • Good observationrenofirvine....Lou Christie, Frankie Valli, and Del Shannon all hit those great falsetto highs...and those early 60s hits defined that sublime window of time in which everything was just cool and fun and peaceful...likely a time never to be seen again....but back to the falsetto specialists...see also "Handyman,"....And I would love to join in on that Johnnie Walker Black party...How about London? Zurich? Milan?

  • This song is sort of like proto-reggae.

    Maybe Lou Christie invented reggae...

Bow down to your king, Mr. Marley!

  • he sounds like a chick! good song tho

  • OUTSTANDING NANA TONI

  • He never would have made it save for the bicycle accident. LOL

  • OMFG thanks for making me laugh. TFF!!!

  • I wondered how he sang that high. He made some great songs.

  • Truly a powerhouse from the get-go.. full energy right off just the way it was back then so saith blackholeconceptsdotcom

  • What a lovely song! I was unfamiliar with it till now. Once agin I'm favoriting it. thanks for bringing it to my attention! Johnie walker black label is a lovely tipple, I shall raise a glass to the legendary dr who meant so much to so many next time I open a bottle!

  • Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney often listened to this song in his flat on Kilgraston Road while sipping Johnnie Walker Black Label when he was in a somber mood.

  • Incidentally if you should ever visit Scotland I'd love to meet you. We could crack open a bottle of Johnie Walker Black label and swap stories of our mutual friend Dr Maloney.

  • I would certainly enjoy that! I haven't been to Scotland for nearly ten years. Let me know if you plan a trip on Route 66 to San Diego!!

  • Great song. Love it. Thanks.

  • ok,mr brent441,which version of this do you prefer-this or 'the gypsy cried'-i have a reissue 45 with both-the songs are pretty much mirror-image closely backwards of each other/ok, a grammatically terrible sentence...but you know what i mean---see also del shannon-runaway/hats off to larry, and 4 seasons-sherry/big girls don't cry

  • great tune 5*****

  • First one here!

You notice that there haven't been many Lou Christie impersonators? He had the glass-shattering niche to himself.
