You might find it interesting to watch what happens if you gradually speed up your test wheel with weights. You will find at speeds below your normal test speed, that the shaking will be much worse than without your weights/balls because the balls will line up on the side with the imbalance and not the side you want. Try it!
There's a simple problem with this type of balancer. It only works above the critical speed of the tire/wheel/suspension system. Below the critical speed, the balls will line up on the side with the imbalance making things worse. Since this is a springy wheel mount, it has a low critical speed and the unit works. If they slowed the wheel down, you would see things are worse. The question is then, what is the critical speed for average truck wheel assemblies?
One problem. The balls are rolling in a circle in your improper lab test . When a tire is real life rolling and has a flat spot where road contact is flat, it IS proven that it actually causes worse imbalance. For this reason, the allowable circumference is tolerable in a transport truck application where a larger wheel is used and rolling speed is slower per rotation. You shoe a ideal round inner pipe holding the balls. No one will realistically use this in real environment
@guidoism tony is trying to figure out what happens when a transient response happens when a wheel slows down an speeds up and the balls make more problems than original situation. like in daily stop and go traffic. \notice the "speed up " its bad. shakes like hell before a " perfect rpm" is reached.
Centramatic is a descendant of the original inventor of automatic balancers from the 1960's. Taabs uses large balls in their balancers. Centramatic found that there were inherent problems balancing at low speeds using materials like that. Centramatic uses small shot in the ones they make. We have had no problems with selling and standing behind products made by Centramatic.

Do you have a demo of your actual product with the beads? Isn't this just Taabs product?
