  • Bad wing chun guy man

  • mmo players try something irl

  • Obasi you disgrace your sifu and all of us wing chun practioners

  • Hey Shawn... you should be glad/thankful that (Epi Echolz) did not pick you to participate in M-1 tournaments. He did you a huge favor. You're still in no position to even fight in an amateur event... this guy was obviously manhandling you. It appears as if he just allow you to win purposely.

You and your drunken boxing (WC) have a long way to go.

  • What a joke of a fight.. Muay Thai all the way!!

  • i think shawn obasi may not have the most formal wing chun but he inspires me to train so one day i can sparr with him. and he makes a good name for wing chun by getting in there and walking his talk

  • The only thing i cee from Wing Chun being effective in MMA is.. The Gracefulness of Slipping grapples standing up.. After all that other shit in a Brawl is useless.

  • @SDSOverfiend You talking about just in MMA or on the streets? Cause Wing Chun can be effective if one puts enough dedication and effort to it.

  • @MhongLi It can but even Bruce clarified why Wing Chun was limited and how he could'nt advance with it. there was no real stance with it that can be mobile unless it became a hybrid.. Kicking was a weakness of it. I mean you can destroy the average person with it but a disciplined fighter its not working against. 90% of all fights end up on the ground. If ya ground game is suspect in MMA then you not fit to survive.

  • @SDSOverfiend bruce lee only mastered the first two forms of wing chun. the third and most dangerous, biu jee, was not known to him.

  • @vgrzen34 also he was unsure of the entire wooden dummy form, he went back to China to seek further lessons from Ip Man but was turned away for teaching people Wing Chun.

  • To go to the ground in a real fight can be unwise for a few reasons. 1. Terrain- sharp rocky gravel, broken glass, etc- what if the ground is littered with such things? 2. Control- taking an opponent to the ground gives you control of them, but you lose control of the enviromental factors. Such as his friend or friends coming to stomp or bash your head or back while you grapple on the ground. 3. Some ground techiniques can leave you open to deadly counters from skilled opponents.

  • Also you lose your margin for error againts a skilled fighter in true combat. One mistake on the ground leads to broken bones, or death. there is a big difference between fighting for sport and true combat applications. The latter is a life and death conflict which utilizes moves that can kill and break a man easily. Now against some bums in the street, any trained fighter should have an advantage. But against someone trained to kill. close range and ground fighting . bad idea.

  • Why is it a bad idea? Because if you been trained to fight for sport and self defense, please believe the person trained to kill will have a huge advantage over you in those two catagories. while you are trying to knock him out, he will be attacking bones, vital organs, eyes, preassure points. joints, muscles. And each attack will have killer intent.

  • oh and mma don't cover defending against that. they teach you to absorb punishment and overwealm with offensive skills. Defensive skills keep you alive, without those you are dead. And how many ufc guys have you seen with a great defense? you see how they fight, they walk into attacks, trade blows. etc. Stupid way to fight, easy way to get killed.

  • Real trained killers and Real martial artist would kill a ufc guy in a real fight. why would they? a little thing called muscle memory. If you are trained to fight a certain way, you will. Trained to target certain targets, you will. Hesitation leads to death. Since ufc guys don't train to defend against moves that kill and techniques that target certain areas of the body. their muslce memory will betray them, leaving them open to a deadly blow or tactic. One mistake-defeat.

  • If you don't believe me think about it. If Rashard evans got into a life and death hand to hand fight with a elite Navy seal or Russian spetsnaz. Who do you think is walking out of that ally alive? What should Rashad's strategy be? Take him to the ground? what if another soldier is right there? What if the seal or spetsnaz is armed with a knife? No matter the scenario, Rashad's dead.

  • Rashaad Evans crushes any seal, or any other soldier. Brandon Wolff was a navy seal. He has zero wins over decent opponents. Ask Ben Saunders how destructive his seal techniques were. How old are you? Open your eyes Ralphael. Go to BJJ school. Every school will give you a free lesson or two. Ask to test your wing chun techniques there. Don't look for a fight but tell them you are interested in the effectiveness. Any school will have someone who will let you.You will see how ridiculous you sound.

  • @rikitikirobot lol, I was talking about a real fight, not a mma match. And to answer your question im 27. I don't do wing tsun. I do Vee jistu 85, boxing, chung do kwan, jujistu, original yang style taijiquan, arnis, extensive chin-na, and a hybrid system of my own development. I been studying martial arts since I was 6. I am a mixed martial artist, but I respect traditional arts.

  • my father is a former navy officer and chief of police in great lakes illinois. He ran his own shotokhan katate dojo. His orginal art was vee jistu. His shihan was Frank Edwards, heir to the vee jistu art, and top student of professor florendo visitacion. I grew up in the martial arts. I fought, sparred, and seen enough to know a few things. I train with mma guys whenever I can. Its fun. My opinion is built on solid foundation. I don't feel the need to prove it.

  • @RaphaelFuentes what in the holy hell is Vee jitsu?

  • @TheTerrorUforgot lol, look it up man. Its some brutal and effective stuff. For real, check it out.

  • @rikitikirobot just so you dont blind yourself bjj came from judo and even though it just an adaptaion the ground move of bjj is the same as those as judo and jujitsu ground move judo does 60 % throwing and 40 % ground and jujitsu is 50% clinch and 50% ground move..just to let you know because i see people like to think most of the bjj was made from scratch especially the armbar..

  • @asian714cali

I am well versed on the history of BJJ. My training started when I was born to a Judo black belt. I understand BJJ's Ne-waza roots, hence Kimura etc. Also, your percentages aren't really accurate. Also, I have no idea what this has to do with what was being talked about.

  • @asian714cali made up percentages are fun.

  • @TheTerrorUforgot wow so you liking making up percentage?? im never asking you for statistic

  • @SDSOverfiend lol. Really now. And how do you know that? Have you fought anyone who was really good at wing chun in a street fight?

  • @RaphaelFuentes Nah I try to avoid fights at all costs in the streets. I had no real formal training in fighting except for slap boxing and learn how to defend myself to the best of my ability. I don't rush in swinging wild haymakers and all that other shit. I will however try to dismantle you the best way i could. Whether its Biting,Shin kicking, Elbows, Eye gauging, Headbutting, Choking , Scoop slaming, Kneeing ETC.

  • Find ONE, just 1, JUST ONE SINGLE example of wing chung being used in a fight on video. Youtube, anything. Don't use Shawn because he uses none. He stands like a wing chun man, throws haymakers and uses his wrestling and bjj (which comes more from being a decent athlete than anything else) and the poses like a wing chun man. If he ever decides to be honest with himself, he will see his wins are more attributed to athleticism than anything. Either way, find me fucking one example. No THEORY. Film.

  • @rikitikirobot Hey dude..... Im on your side man lol.

  • At 0:13 to 0:17, the red shirt dude dropped his hands. Why didn't the black shirt just punch him in the face to knock him out?

  • Comment removed

  • Shawn "SEAL THE DEAL" hope you soon get some real fighters and not some wannabes like here or fatty boys in the other vids who hardly can move and you are trained your muscles as if gym is your second home! have fun

  • @romeoka If you are going to reason that way, you must also put a perfectly trained Wing Tsun "fighter" on the other side ... I do not think Shawn is very well trained and not sufficiently smooth and quick in his movements and had therefore been completely useless against an opponent that you had in mind .. Emin Boztepe might have been a better choice against your opponent in this case. If you intended it to be on equal terms ...

  • I don't understand why Obassi is doing BJJ in this video rather than WC?

  • @ironwirewingchun By the way, very nice escapes and reversal into an arm bar! You did a lot of work in BJJ it seems! :) I am always for the idea of WC + BJJ = Awesomeness.

  • @ironwirewingchun Maybe because it was just a grappling match and not a fight to the death with eye gouges and and majic kung fu moves

  • @Lucanking There was this video where he fought a fat naked man in this same right standup, thats why I am wondering as it does not look like a BJJ or grappling match only that day... youtube.com/watch?v=lVyrNR39m3E&feature=related

  • @ironwirewingchun It's a BJJ match, BJJ rules. Working on his ground game, that's all.

  • @ironwirewingchun He maybe using BJJ techniques but he might be "thinking" WC. I am constantly applying WC principles to my grappling game. I'm also learning when to and when NOT to apply Wing Chun principles. I have to be carefull not to make the BJJ technique disfunctional. Take care, Sir.

  • @snakeandcrane1 Totally agree with you on that. To me, WC is a set of principles and concepts that are applicable in almost all fighting arts and I can find plenty of ways to use WC in my BJJ as well.

  • finally.. dis guy not acting like a prick thumbs up if you agree wit me...

  • finally.. dis guy not acting like a prick

  • Aggressiveness over technique here. Great fight though! Obasi is good at everything he does, I can tell from looking at your videos. You put alot in your work and that's what it takes to be the best. Fuck what these haters think, keep working hard, bruh! Focus on your technique!

  • The awesome power of Obasi vs. a fighter who isn't crappy (for once)

    v=5BCNDJyK7Ic

  • Can anybody doubt that this guy is a fat sack of jelly? Jesus cut down on the carbs you fat sack of shit and learn how to fight...

  • how did the guy in red not know he was going for the kimora o.o

  • 1. Guy in black is not using wing chun, but some unrefined form of grappling.

    2. Guy in red looks like a (6 month) white belt level BJJ stylist.

  • @jeyel71 its a bjj match not a stand up match way to fail at trying to call him out for not using wing chun.

  • @gogetatr12 Why call himself "wing chun man" then?

  • Afraid..of the..butt crack!

  • Wow, is he fighting a muppet?

  • I can't believe someones first jiu jitsu match is in a ring and has 54,000 views!

  • where is the mad for this pigs????

  • the man in red is way to nice he had so many chances that he didnt take ... any bjj pro would have ended it in a minute .

  • good on you man seal the deal man

  • all he does is illegal blows and fights unexperienced wrestlers and bjj guys

  • @makanibebeh56 Yeah, yeah, man. That's because he's new to this kind of "fighting". His training is better suited to real fights where rules do not apply. He started out a little arrogant, but he's trying to learn some new styles which are ring "legal" and he's getting better. Personally, I'll hand it to anyone that commits themselves to a goal and sticks with it. He's committed to UFC style fighting and he's sticking with it.

  • LOL this is a response to "UFC Joe Rogan says that Wing Chun Kung Fu is ineffective and a waste of time!", yet shows the Wing Chun practitioner use wrestling and Jiu Jitsu to win this fight. Since when was a Kimura a Wing Chun move?

  • The man has good kung fu. Wing Chun and BJJ FORMAL TRAINING also. If he were of an introspective nature, I would love to train this young man.

  • slopy stop embarrsin yo self man thats not win chun or kung fu ffs

  • Respect mate. wing chun is good at close range. but not in a cage fight with gloves and rules. people who havent actually fought a real hardcore martial artists talk rubbish. wing chun couldnt do shit in the cage, well if I stepped in the cage at welterweight. and a punch misses I guarantee my opoonent goes for eye surgery, and the the takedown I would welcome the takedown so I could tear into their eyes or DDT opponents head into the ground.but NOPE thats not ALLOWED in MMA. LOL

  • @ryukenb2k wing chun is best in stand up fighting and even very effective EVERYWHERE, so don't talk shit, for sure in the ground game it is not much help then, but that one is another story..go sleep now its late bb

  • bro my uncle taught me wing chun techniques from a little kid but I thought later that it's just a couple of styles from shaolin fist forms,of which their are 72 styles, wing chun is mostly southern chinese buts its origins originate from henan province. even bruce lee's main teacher not yip man the the gut with the talking hands even said wing chun has it's limits and isnt the best fist form but is very effective. stay humble that is the way of the warrior

  • if the guy in red would stop being nice he would own

  • i train at alliance and ive never seen this dude

  • that had to be the worst kimora i ever seen....

the guy in the red straight sucked

  • Comment removed

  • white belts?

  • Was that a Wing Chun submission? ;D

  • The guy in red did really good. Looks like Obasi doesn't use Wing Chun alone and has learned from some MMA coaches.

  • @hazza3 the guy in red was good? WTF? He didnt even try to put his hooks in when he had his back twice.. his chest was so high and had no pressure on Shawn, so Shawn just easily twisted around. The guy in red didnt even try try to get out of half guard. Probably a white belt match.

  • @NinjaWarriorDude wasnt on Shawn's hips when he had his back

  • @NinjaWarriorDude Yes, he was good for a Jujitsu practitioner. He wrestled with him and use the right moves to try to take Obasi down. He did good. Fights aren't always pretty, so you can't always get your way in a fight when using techniques.

Dunno how belts work in BJJ, but in a Dan system he could have been a 6th kyu which is the 4th belt.

  • @hazza3 nah the guy in red was useless. If he was good, as soon as he took the guy's back in the beginning it would have been the beginning of the end. He should've thrown his leg hooks in, which I (as an amateur BJJ practitioner) even know to do. But yet he took his back TWICE, and used leg hooks not even once, and I don't think I even saw a hint at a submission attempt that entire fight. Not good. Also, when he was submitted, there wasn't the slightest effort of resistance. White belt if that.

  • @narwhalsandjuice Obviously Obasi was just better. Just by knowing a martial art doesn't automatically mean you will be good.

He did good. So what if he couldn't do ALL of his moveset. Its like saying a Muay Thai fighter isn't muay thai just because he didn't use Elbows or knees.

Obviously Obasi was just better, but the BJJ dude did good. Not great, not amazing, just good. Don't cry about it, its just an opinion.

  • this shawn guy is a fat tramp weirdo i love watching him lose everytime

  • Whats the point if he only uses BJJ. There was no kung fu there.

  • No wing chun here. Wing chun is STILL ineffective and a waste of time.

  • I use those moves on my girlfriend if you know what i mean ;)

  • wow nice job in my first grappling match i tapped out within 30 sec by a ankle lock from a sambo fighter

  • from 1:34 to 1:37 was hella gay

  • @EBB47 Actually, that was about the only impresive move that Shawn did.

  • @ToppaMusic

maybe fighting just isnt for you if you get a hard on over watching it?

  • good stuff, sean.

  • Nice Job!

  • Eu Gosto de ver esse kara lutando!!!! ele e muito bom!

  • nice asscrack

  • Thats not BJJ. Where is your Gi?

  • @Flyingtom80 never heard of no-gi jiu jitsu? geez

  • @FLASH2394 Yeah. Its called submission wrestling.

  • @Flyingtom80 so u have never heard of no-gi jits tournaments??? have u maybe heard of eddie bravo and 10th planet jiu jitsu, which is ALL NO-gi jiu-jitsu, using over- and underhooks instead of just holding on to the gi itself? u should look in to it. its the style of jiu jitsu that transions the best to mma because u cant use a gi unless ur in japan where that is allowed. submission wrestling is NOT the same as no-gi jiu jitsu. ur clearly extremly uneducated if u accualy belive that

  • @Flyingtom80

Not all BJJ is taught with a Gi LOL

The Gracies(BJJ founders) teach no gi for street fighting.

  • I will die a wing chung man.

  • where did the wing chun go?

  • @RAMSEY1987 wing chun actually has a large library of techniques that are not legal in ring fighting, because they can be lethal. there fore the gaps must be filled, this is MMA after all.

  • @frozenwalkway that is the same thing that i used to say, but neck, arm leg breaks are virtually impossible against a guy bobbing and weaving and shooting in your knees i did wing chun for over 4 years at three different schools i enjoyed it and learned a lot but some good techniques but most of them really work against wing chun

  • @RAMSEY1987 The title says BJJ Match...but you can see it's influence in the beginning when Shawn's hands make contact with the other guy's

  • @jamespohh yeah your right you can kind of see sticky hands all be it poorly executed

  • @RAMSEY1987 wing chun went back to china eversince mma rolled up into town yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa...

  • That was a good lock, it's definitely a good thing that he knows grappling.

  • where is this dudes real record?

  • u cant elbow the leg unless your intentionally tryna open the guard by doing so, and in mma your allowd to elbow the legs, just not 12 to 6

  • yay kimura!

  • Just out of curiosity, are elbows to the thighs legal? An example of what I'm wondering might be at 1:32, would Obassi striking his opponent's thighs go against any of the rules for this fight? Also how would such a scenario been viewed by other MMA league rules?

  • @AkiraSumida hes not striking the leg, its called breaking the guard hes doing submissionwrestling not mma right now.

  • I was speaking hypothetically, but I see what you're saying. So for this fight its not allowed? Would such a tactic be allowed in mma?

  • @ANG3LiiToVU3LA ur like the best person in the world hay

  • thank you...glad to see a Brother grappling.

  • theres blood stains all over the mat. what I would do to see those fights!!!!

  • u need to refine ur technique more. u almost have no control over your opponent. a more experienced opponent would've finished after the turnover at 1:20 of your video. very dangerous to give up your back without any control of your opponents hands. look up some catch wrestling to add to your pallet. well done!

  • but where is the wing chun??

  • in this situation - you have to pak the arm - tan the arm - gahng the arm - fook the arm - bong sao - wu sao -

practice these in chi sao -

use the dummy to practice these -

if you want to hit the dummy, maybe tie a rope around the top -

    Michael

  • maybe talk to wolf3001 and his friend that knows and uses wing chun as a bouncer - i knew quite a few bouncers who use wing chun - it works well for them -

then you would have to talk to wing chun people that know how to use wing chun on the ground -

  • First he said, wing chun man, now wing-jitsu.......Now wing fatty....

  • @jorgecbooc wing-jitsu (wing chun + ju jitsu) so Obasi's Martial Arts background is Jujitsu + Wing Chun, understand nao?

  • @BlindingAnime ?????

  • why dont you just train in muay thai / mma if you are going to compete at a high level?

  • This is just stupid, Obasi can't hit the guy in this fight. Way to showcase how good Wing Chun is. =D

  • yeah - you have to practice a lot of chi sao for the hands -

    pak sao

    tan sao

    gahng sao

    fook sao

    gum sao

    biu sao

    Michael

  • practice grabs

maybe fok sao for control - don't hit the neck - just put the fok sao into the neck -

combine with chin na - shui jiao -

  • @mchang51 exactly no traning at all

  • Garbage as shit. He doesnt even know a half guard escape

  • very nice i do wing chun myself bjj and wing chun are very good together and seal lets see more bong sous and tang sou any way you use it its great because your showing the ufc that wing chun is a very powerful martial art

  • @deenchast he isnt in the UFC....

  • oh please

  • what the fruck man... this man is fulllll of surprises

  • Obasi....Wing Chun would, at 0:14, make you instinctively want to punch him straight in the face.... Is it for reasons like this that MMA dont allow you to enter Wing Chun and such?

  • @claxy1337 oh hey cockhead, it's not that they won't let him into mma cause he might punch someone in the face, nobody is offering him to go pro because anyone can see that his shallow skills won't hold in the professional arena and he'll get schooled. they're not going to get this guy on TUF or anything as a freakshow and let someone with real talent get passed up

  • @prebirth91 you have got to be the biggest idiot that has ever clicked on this video...congratulations you fucken nutjob

  • @claxy1337 oh yeah sorry you're right man. it's a conspiracy, the UFC and MMA community don't want this guy to go pro because his mad WC skills will put an end to MMA

  • @prebirth91 what i said had nothing to do with any martial arts or shawn obasi

you are just a complete fucking idiot

  • What the fuck was Wing Chun about this? This just looks like a fat white guy and a fat black guy trying to caveman eachother with some sloppy moves. This isn't even good Jiu Jitsu from either of you. In some of the other matches with this dude he wins (sloppily) by hammerfisting dudes while they're on the ground. He needs to start kissing wrestling's ass instead of his stupid fucking Wing Chun cause that's the only thing that's helped him win his matches!

  • I wonder what linage of Wing Chun Shawn does ?.

  • A friend of mine did security in several bars here he has said time and time again his past training in Karate is nothing compared to his Wing Chun. He has taken on guys much bigger than himself and not had a problem. I myself have sparred with wrestlers with very few rules and they have had a very hard time. I know many have said this and it's getting old but the ring is not the same as a street fight. Both myself and my friend are confident that we can win any real fight with our training.

  • @wolf3001 that's nice, until someone glasses you

  • I want to say something I did TKD for awhile I quit because I beat down a black belt while sparring. I was then told everything I did was illegal. I took up Wing Chun and love it but like every martial art I have come across many have never fought a day in their lives and or ever tested their art. I got into a fight awhile back and was taken down by being pushed hard I was never mounted because I know how to keep someone back. I broke the guys ribs with a good kick and walked away a bit bruised.

  • Curious... At the start of the match, their faces were basically asking for a sucker punch or two. Yet none was thrown.

  • @Bekatowa ahhhhh hey ignorant dude, it was a grappling match

  • @prebirth91 no need for name calling. Not everyone knows everything. :-) thanks for the answer BTW.

  • Glad Shawn finally understood that he has to learn more then just Wing Chun to be a successful fighter.

From what he showed here, he seems to really respect the ground aspects of fighting, unlike many other traditionalists who just blow off the ground fighting.

  • LOOSERS...sorry but there was a lot of moments that he can use to win but he didn´t use it..

  • Sealthedeal, you are truly an inspiration to all of those like me who believe in the effectiveness of tradtional Martial Arts. Thank God for you. Keep on representing Wing Chun and show these MMA guys that Tradtional Martial Arts can be effective in the ring.

  • The ref looks like a fag in sandals.

  • that guys jiu jitsu was terrible he didnt even get his hooks on the back

  • won using power rather than technique but hey he won - kudos

  • wow fat red shirt guy sucks he had black thunders back and couldnt take him out, props to black thunder

  • no wing chun there xD

  • @tagabukastubo weird there's no punches either. it must be with bjj rules. so no punching or kicks or elbows or knees or anythin allowed, except wrestling and even the most deadly moves of wrestling not allowed. i call it lame!

  • @DonMega187 it's a grappling match, what super deadly awesome wrestling moves do you think are banned?? the peoples elbow?

  • 1:36 punch his nuts! bye bye bjj

  • you don't look fat in this video, but you gotta step up the competition bro, i saw you destroy the "26-0" HW who tried out for TUF, he doesn't look like he is 26-0 unless he counts drunken bar fights

  • @srbforlife @srbforlife it's surprising how bad u can make some1 look when u're just so much better

  • Both have horrible BJJ.

  • um 0:36 sec homo/pause lol

  • He's not using WC you idiot and jump off his dick he's garbage.

  • that fat white guy, is just a beginner, roll with a guy who is at leaswt a blue belt or have one year of training

  • gay sex i always will hate wrestling !!! men should take kare of them selves with fists not with masaging the enemy .... so i call it GAY SEX every time i see a wrestler

  • @koneko1991 you got a problem with faggets?

  • Lol, I'd grapplefuck you.

  • wow full of shit really

  • @theghost131387 Tell me about it Bro.

  • kimura

  • Keep up the good work man, i have missed seeing someone using wing chun in maa matches, hope to see more of this around! :)

  • the guy didnt use any wing chun. it was strictly bjj

  • WOW, WASTED NO TIME IN SLAPPING ON THAT LOCK.

  • that was horrible. what was the dude you were fighting just have his start up class. it looked like a joke

  • I'm glad that finally we have someone to stand out and have courage to tell the world that wing chun can be a dominant style in MMA .. way to go Obasi .. please let us know when is your next fight ..
