  • thats ok not all that band ok to.

  • Would love to see Rahsaad and Tonex to do a duet together

  • I see Rahsaan's Chaka Kahn influence started to kick in towards the end... "Luh-woo-uh-woo-ove iiiiis.... straw-woo-ahn-woo-awngeeeer... than priiii-iiiii-IIIIIDE!" Love that. Lol. Even though he killed it... gotta give it up to the writer of the song, Sade Adu (who happens to be one of my main musical influences).

  • Why this man isnt more famous is beyond me? He has such a soulful voice, yet he is being ignored and people like Justin Beiber are everywhere?! It just baffels me,if Usher wants to discover some talent he needs to quit looking a people like Justin Beiber and look at people like Rahsaan Patterson, because this brother can blow!

  • What a briliant cover of such a brilliant classic! I would have just loved to be there! He was a rare find in the industry! Just awesome...thanks for sharing!

  • Amazing Rahsaan God bless you

  • I'm a singer/ performer from Philly. I know a singer when i hear one. This dude is using almost all the talent in his arsenal. Crazy talented ! I never thought I would hear a male vocalist as talented as Stokley from mint condition, and I had the honor of opening for them in Baltimore. He has such a passive absolute command of the human voice . He understands the depths of the human voice, understands that there is no instrument that super-seeds it, and yet invites it to accompany him !

  • come on man how can you compare him to stokley...stockley can sing but this brotha can SANG!!!( SANG= SOUTHERN TEMRM FOR AN BEYOND EXCELENT VOCALIST) .....i think you was ....over-greatful for your opening spot

  • lol...@Algeeaugust.....come on...how cant you?....just all in fun but I have followed Rasaan since "Kids Incorporated" and He always reminded me of Stockley from Mint Condition in the 90's...everybody says that...2 different artist cut from the same cloth....

  • @algeeaugust I can understand the comparison to stokley, they sound almost identical. Rahsaan has more of a range though.

  • He killed it....its a shame the real singers are outshine in the music industry

  • i tell everyone i know to check this video out ....it would be nice if RAH would quit playin an gone head and put it on a trac ...lol the brutha is so under rated and it anit right.....

  • He KILLED IT!!! NAIL IN THE COFFIN!

  • I agree......wow! He took that song all the way

  • This is such a sweet melody...

  • He did that...Rahsaan is truly a gifted and talented artist...Great live...A must see...

  • This is all Rahsaan, not Sade. And this is Rahsaan in his RARE form. This young man is a genius with his vocals, I love his sound and style!!!!

  • The 2 star rating on this video was not for the beautiful performance, but instead for the camera man. LOL! Thanks for capturing it though.

  • Agreed Looks like he was using a zoom with no tripod. Frustrating to watch. But not to listen to.

  • I like this home video for the raw sound. The videography of course is poor. but this sounds so different from the other live versions posted. Luv me some him!!!

  • I love the song...but the camera man is horrible on this one!

  • Wooooooooooow (in the words of Flavor Flav).

One of my favorite artist covering one of my favorite songs by another one of my favorite artists. I really like the original, but he freaking killed this one. Dare I say, if he had recorded this, I may have like this rendition better. He and those background singers got all Chaka Khan with it towards the end with the vamping of the chorus.

  • If you like this, I suggest you buy all four of his recordings. I really would like for this artist to have commercial success because his voice is a unique instruments and his songs are gems waiting to be discovered. Hard to look at the video, but the sound is good enough that this is one of my favorites, You must hear the live version on his latest cd, "Wines and Spirits." Buy it now.

  • I'll already have, and Yya'll betta follow up and lead... OFF TOP!!

  • This was just beautiful! Would have loved to have been at that show.

  • He was in Kids Incorporated :)

  • Wow.

  • OMG...I LOVE THIS SONG...and his rendition is most def. worth listening to!

  • I sure hope he comes to Chicago. I will definately make it my business to be in the house! Rah is WONDERFUL!! His voice and style it truly one of a kind. bknicca, even though the video was rather rollercoaster-esque, we all appreciate it!

  • oyabun83, YOU think he's SEXY, and YOU think he's kool, too. You KNOW you eat chicken too. Boy, you're one corny watermelon eater hiding in the trailer park, dreaming about Rahsaan. That's why you went from clip to clip staring at him, salivating at the mouth, Hungry Like The Wolf like Duran Duran!!

  • why are you here loser and everywhere else Rah's supreme vocals resonate?..grow up Canadian trash..see it comes from all regions of the globe.stop posting here before I have your profile deleted little person.

  • sang it!

  • great stuff

  • I can never get enough of this, this is awesome, he sang this a few years back at BB Kings in New York. He needs to record this. I always come back to the post to listen to this I love it.

  • SANG RA!

  • I saw him at Yoshi's too - he was great!! I just found out that there's a version of this song on iTunes - it's kinda bootleg quality but still cool

  • I just saw him sing this at Yoshi's , he''s truely a favorite of mine ! Sing it RP ! May this be your GOOD LUCK TOUR.

  • Damn nice audio but I'm about to throw-up from motion sickness.

  • I am the person that captured this incredible performance...Be Easy yo! This is after 2 hours straight of holding the digicam without a tripod! I still hope that the audio made up for it!

  • audio is amazing. thanks man

  • good stuff bk. do they have a lot of nice summer concerts in c-o-m-p-t-o-n?

  • raw. period.

  • the audio is great, but im gonna throw up from all the motion!its like being on a rollercoaster, be still next time!good job on the audio though

  • I'm from the "O" {Oakland, CA} He is the bomb...... He is still off the hook.. He ripped BIMBOS club in San Francisco...and that was 7 years ago...He's bad

  • I live near Oakland, too. He'll be performing at Yoshi's this weekend!

  • I'll be there on 10/7 to see him, I cannot WAIT!!!!

  • You know so many of you posting here are quick to talk about his sexuality, when many would be surprised to know that quite a few of singers who sing are hiding behind industry driven personas but are really [gay]. Anybody can make a record these days, it takes a great talent to make music. Rahsaan, keep giving us this slow-burn groove. You are the bomb dot com. You feel me!...

  • Why can't the camera be still?

  • True SOUL singing, so underrated. He's one of the great's no doubt.

  • I like the former Kid from "Kids Incorporated"

  • I'm feeling this!

  • I luv Rahassan. He one of the greatest soul singers I have ever heard......

  • Wow this was so moving!

  • He should record a studio version of this. I always come back here to hear it. I need this in my collection.

  • Is this recorded somewhere? I would love to blast this in my car! I love Rahsaan :)

  • i love you!!!

  • WONDERFUL!!!!!!

  • this rendition of "love is stronger than pride" is just beautiful. i especially love the tempo change near the end.

    god bless rah.

  • This is awesome I saw Rahsaan sing this at BB Kings last winter and he tore it up. Glad you posted this. I lvoe.
